Wait a minute now. It's highly unlikely that Sony approved this, how does it run at all?

Ah, it doesn't:

• Action Replay PC Software Action Replay MAX for PSP's PC package is easy to install, and it allows you to manage your game and media files by connecting your console to your PC. You can even archive PSP files for later use, or download game saves from the CodeJunkies online community. More of that later. After installing and running the software on your PC, the main Action Replay screen offers six tabbed pages. Click on the Globe icon and you access the CodeJunkies server, where you can download game-save files created and uploaded by MAX for PSP users all over the world. You can upload your own too. Best of all, Datel's cunning code-cracking crew is hard at work creating PowerSaves, special save files with built-in cheats. With PowerSaves, you can start your game with Infinite Health, Infinite Lives, All Weapons, Every Level Open and more. The PC icon takes you to your PC database, where you can check and manage game saves stored on your computer's hard drive. The PSP icon does the same for the console's memory stick. To encode video files and transfer them to your PSP for viewing on the move, check out the Camcorder tab. Here you can convert video files into a format your PSP can understand, then save them onto your Memory Card. Accepted formats include AVI, MPG/MPEG, VOB (DVD), WMV, MOV, MPE, 3GP and MP4. Same deal with music and images - use the Headphones and Camera tabs to transfer MP3s and photos respectively • Media Manager PS2 Software With Action Replay MAX for PSP's PS2 software, you can also connect your PSP to your PS2. If you’re struggling for space on your PS2 memory cards, why not connect your PS2 to your PSP and transfer some of your game saves to your MAX Memory Card for safe keeping? You can even crush them so they take up less room! And when you've transferred your PS2 saves to your PSP, you can then use the PC's Action Replay software to transfer them from your handheld to your computer, using the hard drive as a saves archive. You need never be stuck for space again! • USB 2.0 Cable To transfer saves to and from your PSP, you need a USB cable. The cable supplied with Action Replay MAX for PSP conforms to the USB 2.0 standard to facilitate quick and easy transfers between your handheld and your PC or PS2. • 64MB Memory Card Action Replay MAX for PSP also contains a 64MB MAX Memory Card. This is a plug-and-play device that works exactly like the card you got with your PSP. Now you have two, why not keep one for your game saves and the other for your digital entertainment such as videos, MP3s and photos? Just a thought...

Nothing in there even implies live address manipulation. Apparently this is just a glorified video converter and file-transfer utility that's merely branded "Action Replay". Probably not worth the £25/$45.

Is that 64Mb or MB? Because 64Mb is only about 8MB's. This would not only NOT be an "amazing storage space", but infact the TINNIEST memory card you can buy for the PSP. It comes with a 32MB card, after all. Even if it is 64 REAL MB's, that's still not amazing by any standard. I have a 1GB card, that's amazing. 64MB's is barely an hour of good music, 10 minutes of video, or a handful of emulators. 256MB should be the minimum all PSP users have, 64MB's is abysmal.

And as far as "PowerSaves", those are just hacked saved games. In theory, anybody could make those. They should just be honest and release a service for selling special saved games, because that's all they are really offering. And even then, it's not much of a service.

BTW, where's a Homebrew app for Hex editing our saved game files? We should be making "PowerSaves" of our own, without the help of these jokers.

No one could ever really come out with a true cheat device for the average retail PSP user ... Sony would just put out an FW update that would render that program useless which would then bankrupt the company from all the returns ... just another reason for Sony to try and rule the world
