From Dark-AleX (http://www.dark-alex.org/), A gift to you.

TimeMachine 0.1
---------------

The Timemachine is a program to load previous firmwares and custom firmwares from memory stick
using pandora. Like devhook, but working throgh pandora and custom ipl's, it would work even if the
flash and nand ipl of the machine is destroyed.
The timemachine is useful to run software that is not supported anymore, and also as a way of
booting psp's even if the internal firmware is destroyed. It can also be useful for developers
to test their homebrew in different firmwares.

DIGG THIS (http://digg.com/gaming_news/Dark_AleX_Time_Machine_Released)

http://digg.com/gaming_news/Dark_AleX_Time_Machine_Released

Currently the timemachine can install the following firmwares:

- Original 1.50 (can only be loaded on the phat)
- 1.50 with some 3.40 hw modules. Can be loaded on both, phat and slim.
- 3.40 OE (can only be loaded on phat)
- 3.60 M33 (can only be loaded on slim)

Rest of cfw will be added in the future.

Requeriments of time machine:

- The timemachine itself doesn't require any firmware, only a pandora battery.
Timemachine nand boot in slim, requires, however, 3.90 M33-2 or greater.
- The timemachine installer requires 2.71 SE or higher.

Instructions: Copy the TIMEMACHINE folder to /PSP/GAME and run.

All firmwares can be installed on whatever PSP (slim or phat), but they can only be used
in the psp indicated in the option.

February 15th, 2008, 22:52
Amazing news. I was looking forward to this, even though I know I won't be using this so much.

@Sterist: Not yet. Read the first post, it says 1.50, not 1.00. So I think the lowest version we can load, currently, is the 1.50. :)

since you have a service battery, you got lucky.

backup everything on your memory stick (32mb/64mb sticks do not work) then go to this url (http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=107553).

Wow lol, DaX you should tell us a bit about yourself I would be curious to know a bit about god. Great, no... there is no word to describe your work and how you have contributed to the PSP scene.. just wow...awesome work, Master_Alex

February 16th, 2008, 02:52
Simply wow, but I don't get the part that it says it has to be through pandora

Does this mean everytime I use the other firmware I'll need to use pandora?

This is freaking awsome! I love you DA!

February 16th, 2008, 03:40
I don't really understand the requirements.
I'm on a PSP Slim and I want to run the 1.50 FW with some 3.40 Modules to run Laboko.
Do I need a pandora battery to do that?

Vaang
February 16th, 2008, 04:13
Does booting alternate firmwares require the use of a pandora's battery each time? Or is the battery simply used in the installation phase? Anyone tried it? Also: Does SNES9xTYL++ work? Thanks!

Nikolaos
February 16th, 2008, 04:41
I am pretty sure you need pandora battery to boot the firmware.

Well done DA!

I'm gonna use this when Alex implements this in a Custom Firmware. It's just like DevHook, first, we emulated the firmwares, then DAX came to the rescue.

Totally agree
This is imo the homebrew of the year but I would wait for an easy-to-use release or for an implementation of Time Machine in future M-33 CF

Anyway impressive as always !!
Thanks so much D_A !!!

great! im sure he'll get it working with all firmwares and perfectly soon.
i can't wait to have an easy, sony-like installer for the new firmwares and not have to install the 1.5 kernal after that.
this is also great for all those psp slim users!

How do I fulfil the first requirement, with the pandora battery?

Easy to use? How hard is installing it, then holding down a button to start the required firmware?

I doubt this will get built into a firmware - it's made to be a pandora based thing.

Hey,

Sorry, but I'm a complete noob to PSP "modding" and well, what is the Pandora's battery? I got my PSP in late 2005. I have firmware 3.0 i think. What do I do to get it it to 1.5? Please help. Sorry I'm such a noob. :D

Great job Dax. It's amazing that he still releases new things.

Is there anything different between firmwares 1.00 and 1.50 besides kxploit?

February 17th, 2008, 05:53
Pretty kool, I'm not sure what kind of development benefits could come out of this though =P Though I look forward to finding out.

If you have a lower firmware than 3.50 you can downgrade your PSP with the Lumines 3.50 downgrader by Team Noobz. You would upgrade to 3.50 and then use the Lumines exploit.

Of course you'll have to hunt on eBay for a pre-patched Lumines game.

This is revolutionary, an extraordinary piece of work, I wonder if the 1.50 kernal will be made as an addon for slims on m33 firmware too, DAX just keeps making amazing releases, it's cool.

SpacemanSpiff
February 17th, 2008, 17:37
Oh wow, I didn't realize this would be able to load previous firmwares, I thought it was just a 1.50 kernel for slim PSPs. I hope this can solve the issues with some PSP game saves no longer working on 3.71 M33 and higher.

February 17th, 2008, 17:41
Wait, so if it needs to load the firmware from a Pandora memory stick, does that mean we won't be able to use a different memory stick after we load the firmware?

I hope he releases updates of this or even an 1.50 with 3.40 addon for the slim.

February 17th, 2008, 22:26
wow this is like a combination of Dev Hook, Pandora, and Time Machine all running through one process. Makes for an easy to use all in one Pandora. I hope he releases updates through the Network Update feature. Lets hope he can start release updates all in one package instead of parts.

Yes, and you need a pandora battery to use it with slims correct?

Check the author's - Jurajstyk's - page. I asked him for a user mode (which means that it works without the 1.5 kernel) version and it should still be in the download section, though it's still software-only.

And yes, it worked perfectly on my slim.

I won't install the time machine... 1. I don't have a spare battery. 2. I don't really have anything 1.5-only that I would die for... And the midi-enabled DN3D version works through eloader just fine...
