mini ipod trouble!!!!!

right!! ok i was deleting some things off my computer because i had very little room! and then very stupidly i deleted my itunes file from my music, by doing this i deleted all the songs from itunes! i had soo many songs on itunes that took me months to gather and i would really like to get them back, they are still on my ipod and itunes is now not recognising my ipod, so i dont know if i can transfer songs from my ipod onto itunes but it would be nice if anyone would be able to help me with this because i really dont want to have to load all the songs onto my computer again! :confused: thanks

First off DO NOT USE ITUNES, what ever you do dont do that, because this will wipe your ipod of all songs on it(this has happened to me twice) .

Next step depends if you have windows and have disk mode enabled goto here http://www.ipodhacks.com/article.php?sid=1438&ipod-accessories you can use this to back up your songs.

Disk mode not enabled ? You'll want to head to http://www.ephpod.com (this may be a good alternative to itunes anyway even if you do have disk mode enabled)

Got a mac? well I have no great experience with the mac, but apparantly http://www.ipodhacks.com/article.php?sid=1447&ipod-accessories is a good program, however this is all superfluous if you let it run on itunes. once you've backed up all your files back on your pc you'll be able to reload them onto the ipod even if itunes wipes them all the next time you plug them in.
