I've noticed an odd problem with Nero - I have both the linux and the Windows version, and the linux version will not properly write data/data DC discs, while the Windows version will not properly write audio/data DC discs. It took me almost a dozen CDRs on both sides to figure it out. If your Nero image uses data/data format, write it from Windows, and if it uses audio/data, write it from linux... or use something else that works.
