With Sony doing their best to thwart PSP owners from trying homebrew and emulators, is a modchip the only route for PSP owners with v1.51/v1.52/v2.0 Consoles, if thats so will a USB Modchip that overrides the bios be the best idea ?

Well, Team Xecuter stated earlier that it was possible to downgrade from 1.51/.52 back to 1.5, and that it COULD be done via software. So far there hasnt been any other talk about it, as far as I can remember. Either someone is being very quiet about it, maybe for legal reasons, or your though posted above is getting closer to reality.

well, its not that weird is it? ever other modern device has had to use a modchip to execute unsigned code... just a few of us got lucky when sony released the 1.0 and we found an exploit for 1.5... and its apparent that exploits for 1.51 and 1.52 and even possibly the japanese 2.0 firmware exist.. they just havnt been found yet.

homebrewers just got spoiled by a couple of design flaws... only this time the company is correcting them. So just like always a third party device is going to have to be used... no biggy.

not that weird at all, but if downgrading is possible, there's hardly any point is there?

Unless it'd let you fit a bigger hard drive, wait, this isnt the xbox forum;)

Looks like there may be another wa, something called Firmbrew Xtra utility..

It's supposed to put firmware 2.0 back to 1.5, firware 1.0 wont work at present.

This in its current state is a rumor but you never know !

I know these guyshere (http://psphacked.co.uk/cms/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=37&forum=3) dont believe it....do you????
