Activision has said that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released physically on Xbox One in the UK some time in early May.
In mid April the Xbox One version of the game mysteriously disappeared (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/xbox-one-release-for-amazing-spider-man-2-tbd/0131293) from release schedules, with Activision simply saying that it was “working with Microsoft in an effort to release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game on Xbox One”.
Then the game made a surprise digital appearance (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/amazing-spider-man-2-here-to-stay-on-xbox-one-and-360/0131775) on Microsoft’s console alongside other formats on its first day of release in North America. The same subsequently happened in the UK (https://store.xbox.com/en-GB/Xbox-One/Games/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-2/b0c4e193-1a5c-4530-9933-4400adc3f16b), although the disc version never appeared in shops.
We’re still none the wiser as to the reasons behind Peter Parker’s no-show on Xbox One.
