DCSteve (http://borrevolution.vg-network.com) AIMed me the following very exciting news:

Just a few minutes ago id Software (www.idsoftware.com) released the source code for Quake III Arena!

If that would be compiled with KallistiOS for Dreamcast, the scene might expierence a revolution in legal independent gaming.

You can download the source code for Q3A v1.32b here (ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/source/quake3-1.32b-source.zip).

Older versions, free demos, add-ons and shareware releases of Quake are available here (http://www.idsoftware.com/business/techdownloads/).

bugger, i have been checkin ID site for this for ages, then i forget, and it get's released, bugger. Still I'm all a flutter, this should rock! Some great 3d games, with a fairly recent engine, awesome. How long before someone can write a DC based 3d gamemaker for this engine;)

Don't think too, because this game was ported by Raster with the official katana SDK.

Yeah, i was just thinking that. Didn't hit me right away that id probably didn't port to the Dreamcast, and that a third party did.
