The next version of Google Glass is rumoured to already be in the early stages of development.
While there are no reports on specs or pricing,laoyaoba.com (http://laoyaoba.com/) has reported that Crystal Optech is supplying small quantities of optical coatings for a ‘second-generation Google Glass’.
Yesterday (May 13th), Google decided to open Glass sales up to everyone in the US in a 24-hour sale.
Costing $1,500, Google has today put the ‘explorer edition’ back on general sale.
While consumers try to get their hands on to a pair before Google runs out of stock, other tech firms are planning to compete with Glass by releasing their own smartglasses.
Samsung is currently developing Galaxy Glass (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/samsung-developing-galaxy-glass-as-frames-launch-for-google-glass/033053), which is rumoured to debut at the IFA trade show in Berlin in September.
Last year we reported on the ION Glasses (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/ion-glasses-could-rival-google-glass-with-price-simplicity/032165), which aim to compete with Google on price and simplicity.
