Titanfall is the UK No.1 for the second month in a row.
Data from GfK Chart-Track reveals that the EA shooter was bolstered by the
launch of an Xbox 360 SKU, which accounted for the majority of Titanfall’s sales during April.
The game was part of a bumper month for EA, which also had the second best-selling game of the period – FIFA 14.
In total, the publisher had four games in the UK Top Ten, including 2014 FIFA World Cup at No.6 and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare at No.10.
But it was a relatively slow Easter for games retail. Just 1.48m games were sold last month, a drop of 6.2 per cent compared with April 2013. In total, £40m was made from game sales, which is actually a slight increase over the same period last year.
But a lack of new releases on the schedule is definitely harming the market potential right now.
There were only two new games in the Top Ten, the aforementioned World Cup tie-in and LEGO The Hobbit at No.4.
