too good to be true?

I saw this on a french site about 1 week ago. It also said that firmware 4.0 would add go messenger to USA/Japan psp's

Flash 9 is quite possible since psptube uses a flash player to [play movies.

However i doubt these claims since apple are not likely to give liscencing rights to sony, a rival especially since ipod touch/phone uses mp4/mov (i think so)

No DivX though huh? Damn!

Well, Go!Messenger would be cool as well as the added Remote Play stuff. Either way, its nice to see SONY stuff as many features as possible into the PSP's firmware.

it may be psp slim exclusive...
since the psp phat has stopped using newer functions

stopped using newer functions?

The psp phat apparently cant handle skype, even though go messenger has call/video and text which basically is the same.

But yes, i do agree that it might be possible for it to be slim exclusive, but psptube runs just fine on a phat psp.

using the Memory Stick Pro Duo as flash memory.

http://www.n4g.com/News-119425.aspx

uh memory stick pro duo IS FLASH MEMORY, this is obviously fake. It was posted awhile ago saying 4.0 would come out on feb 31, which cant(and obviously didn't) happen cuz there aren't 31 days in febuary. It was just some joke

its possible yet its just too good to be true

and sounds like most of this is bogus because the said the psp didnt support /g wireless and thats because (what i know) of hardware problems

seriously, how would they be able to fix it with software?

one bogus point leads to another, im not saying it wont happen but i highly doubt it

[Go! Messenger]* has been added as a feature under [Network]
[Date & Time] menu has been added

Danish and Norsk languages have been added
The ability to customize the volume bar and battery meter under [Theme Settings] have been added
The ability to create and edit playlists under [Photo] and [Music] have been added

Though disappointing in comparison it looks like it might be the real deal. The playlist thing would be cool but I doubt I will use it.

I could go into an in depth analysis of why I think this is false, but frankly I shouldn't need to. I'll just post one thing that should instantly send up a "red flag" that this is false.

*[Adobe Flash Player 9] has been added as a feature, using the Memory Stick Pro Duo as flash memory.

'Nuff said. And if you can't see why that is false, then it's not my job to convince you :)

And another thing, many people have questioned the validity of this, but you have a habit of jumping on me. Like I've said before - if you don't like my posts, feel free to ignore them, rather than "flame baiting".

What the f*** is Auto Connect for?

Probably auto connecting to wireless as soon as it turns on. Which would be retarded, because it's a portable device. It's one of the reasons that this list is very implausible.

Edit: acn010's guess is much more plausible :)

I dont believe it

It's true that no-one would know about it, but not necessarily months before they'd be finished. Skype references for the PSP were found ages before it was actually released - so it was worked on in secret.

This one is so obviously Sony its not funny. So no flash 9 or any other "too good to be true" feature, just another boring update.

Oh and google translate time:

What is interesting to see is that the first rumor was dropped "dramatically" on the official forums (which is understandable).

But on the second rumor... The person in question was immediately banished, and some of these posts have been immediately moderates... Bizarre not.

Sony is trying to hide something?

But like last time very few people will actually read this post.

I'll be well supprised (and impressed) if this is the case, very supprised, real and wmv on the psp seems very unlikely though.

If they can do that, then why not partner with Adobe and get acrobat reader on there too! (I know you can use Bookr, but come on, pdf reader built in would be sexy man!)
