PSPTI99 : A TI-99/4 Emulator for PSP v1.0.3

Hi All,

TI99Sim is a very good emulator of Texas Instruments
TI99 home computer running on Windows and Unix.
The emulator faithfully imitates the TI99/4 model
(see http://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ti99sim/)

PSPTI99 is a port on PSP of the version 0.1.0 of TI99Sim.

What's new then in this version ?

- Speed improvements
- Add vsync and autofire options
- Add several new hotkeys :
. settings such as fps, render mode, auto fire speed
can now be directly modified inside the emulator
(no need to enter in the settings menu)
. quick save / quick load current state
(no need to enter in the main menu)
- Default Hotkeys can now be set in the keyboard mapping menu
(useful to add hotkeys on existing/previous keyboard files)
- Bug fix in the low battery watchdog

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

If you want to convert games etc ... have a look to Ti99/sim web site
for more informations (http://www.mrousseau.org/programs/ti99sim/).

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

If you encounter any issue with the "save state" then reload the cartridge
you were playing, and then reload the save state.

haha! no way! I remember this computer :p. Back in the space invaders days and what not. The old one i had access to broke. Thanks for the port, always glad to see an old classic ;)

Excellent Emu. Finally got it working after I converted all my .bin roms to .ctg (kind of a pain).

Otherwise it works great. Just a couple of questions though.

1. What keyboard map key is the "Redo or Back" key.

2. I can't get the Speech synth to work. Especially on games such as Buck Rogers and Alpiner(games work with sound, just no speech). I have the spchrom.bin and spchrom.dat in the roms folder. But no speech is being said. Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong.

If you could let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks again!!!

Speech rom is not supported (it is too cpu consuming for a PSP, or i should have to rewrite it from zero etc ...)

How?? These bin files are separated. How do I connect them together?? I can convert them to CTG, but then I have two separate files (Like donkeyc.ctg & donkeyd.ctg). Please HELP!!!

I remember seeing a demonstration of these games at the local Montgomery Ward's. Parsec, Munchman, and TI Invaders looked like the coolest games ever. Again, I couldn't afford to have the system back then.

In the early 1990's I collected the system & a bunch of cartridges. Many of them were educational. I thought my young niece would enjoy them. She overall was bored to tears. I still have the system & gosh at least 50 - 60 cartridges in a box in the garage.

Anyway, the games TI designed were incredible & it's fun to play them on the PSP! Thanks for another great port ZX!

It's also fun to see how the Atarisoft games translated over. The keyboard for this original system was terrible & the BASIC seemed to be way slow. Thanks for adding the .crt files too...for the life of me I couldn't figure that out in the first release.

i would like to see a commodore64 emulator of the geos operating system with ir keyboard...that would be cool!

roms for this one are impossible to find and the conversion tool doesn't work on vista...

actually i use snes emulator the most anyway and psphugo which is also cool...i like the ir keyboard too.

Is there any way to use a disk file with this emu? I would LOVE to play Tunnels of Doom on my PSP!! Thanks.
