If it's possible to interface psp-irkeyboard then why not a serial mouse?

I'm surprised with the advent of an, decent enough, IRkeyboard support for the PSP that someone would be developing a way to plug in a serial mouse via the serial port on the psp. Is there anything like this in the works? I guess there isn't the biggest need for it come to think of it. It would be a novelty though. Would something like this be easier to accomplish if you were running some sort of linux distro on your psp? Maybe even more reason for the ability of a mouse to be connected.

Right now there is only one linux distro that has been ported for psp.
Go check over at PS2dev.org forums, someone there is working on serial keyboard interface.This is right up the same alley.
