Given that official GameCube controllers are getting hard to come by, and that the Classic Controller seems, to me, to be a better controller, I was wondering if we're likely to see a CC to GC adapter?

After all, we've had PS2 controller to X-Box controller adapters. And if someone came up with an adapter to let you plug a Classic Controller into a GameCube socket, it'd mean you could use the Classic Controller for GameCube games too.

I find the Gamecube controller to be much better than the Classic one for N64 and Gamecube games. Mario 64 on the Classic was particularly awkward where as the Gamecube one is better than the N64 controller for that game.

However, I do think the Classic controller is much better than the Gamecube one for SNES, NES and Mega Drive games on the Virtual console.

I can't see there being much demand for what you are asking for, but maybe Nintendo will one day make it possible with a firmware update.
