I have a method of downgrading 3.90M33 to Original 1.5 firmware using the xyz update.
There is no recovery.pbp for anything higher than 3.72 that I know of.
If there is already a thread that explains how to do this please let me know.
I have pandora's battery and a TA-079
So I have been able to test this without much risk.
UMD and USB work, nothing seems to be wrong after the downgrade.
Been able to flash a dump of 3.90M33 right back and repeat the processes without error.
Looking for anyone willing to test this who has a Pandora's battery, time and the will.
Dont want to be responsible for any bricks
I have only tested this with a TA-079 PSP.
I have no responsibility if you damage your PSP with this.
This is how I've downgraded my FAT PSP with CF 3.90M33 to 1.50 Original FW:
* Copy the entire contents of the attached file to PSP\GAME folder.
* Rename Original FW 1.50 file to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder.
* Make sure the Kernel for Game is set to 1.50 in Recovery Menu
* Disable all themes and plug-ins
* In the Game menu launch "Update to X.Y.Z."
* Follow the onscreen instruction and it's done.
Credit for the original How to downgrade FAT PSP from 3.71M33 to 1.50 goes to Samhain on the Max Console forums where the original downgrade package is.
Once these files are added this is not intended to be used with 3.71M33 or any other M33 firmware except 3.90M33, 3.90M33-2 or 3.90M33-3 with TA-079 motherboards
I added the 2 following files:
ipl_update.prx
Size: 225 KB (230,512 bytes)
Size on Disk: 228 KB (233,472 bytes)
MD5: DBDB923AE5E3A19E8684A1AD241A5C9E
lflash_fatfmt.prx
Size: 12.6 KB (12,908 bytes)
Size on Disk: 16.0 KB (16,384 bytes)
MD5: 9EAD7367729465432986A3C51D2A5F70
This has been reported to NOT work on a TA-086
Do not use this if you have a TA-086
So far this has only been tested to work on TA-079's.
It will likely brick any TA-82 or greater PSP
I have removed the zip file to prevent N00bs from easily bricking their psp's
If are interested in this and you need help PM me.
I un-brick PSP's for free, PM if you are in need and I will see what I can do.
