Microsoft has officially announced Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, the long rumoured HD remake of original Xbox title Halo: Combat Evolved (pictured).

Set for release on November 15 to mark the franchise's tenth anniversary, it's described as "the epic game that launched a universe, remastered for a new generation".

A fully remastered campaign, co-op over Xbox Live and classic multiplayer maps were promised via a brief trailer at Microsoft's E3 press conference.

The Tomb Raider reboot launches in Autumn 2012, developer Crystal Dynamics has announced.

A new trailer for the game shown during Microsoft's E3 conference offered a first glimpse of what to expect from the game.

The sequence shown saw Lara trying to escape from a network of underground tunnels while being pursued by a feral local.

Crytek's fantasy Kinect game Kingdoms may be called Ryse.

The Ryse name was leaked on a Microsoft E3 landing page that appeared on Xbox.com before being swiftly taken down.

A private-public beta test for Call of Duty Elite will begin on 14th July, Activision has announced.

Participation will be by invite only.

Invites will be given to gamers playing Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer. No platforms were specified, which suggests a mutli-platform beta test.
