Paramount Entertainment has announced a new Star Trek game, due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in summer 2012.

BioShock 2, Dark Sector and The Darkness II developer Digital Extremes is developing the "action adventure co-op game" alongside Bad Robot, K/O Paper Products and Damon Lindelof.

It has an original story penned by God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk, in collaboration with the writer/producers of the new Star Trek films, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman.

With just a week to go until the release of the PC games industry's longest running joke, Duke Nukem Forever, developers Gearbox have released an official video trailer.
