Dead Rising 2: Off The Record launches on 14th October, according to a hastily retracted Capcom announcement.

As noted by VG247, the date appeared on the publisher's European blog this morning, but was then quickly removed without explanation.

Total War: Shogun 2 won't be getting mod tools anytime soon, developer Creative Assembly has announced, though it's not for want of trying.

In a post on the game's forums, community manager Craig Laycock explained that the increasing complexity of the series has made it very difficult for the studio to offer users functional editing tools.

"Back then, the game engine was a hell of a lot simpler than it is now," he said, referring to 2004's Rome: Total War.

The Splinter Cell Trilogy HD will be released exclusively for PS3 on 23rd September, Ubisoft has announced.

Rayman Origins will be released in November on PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.

Ubisoft's new schedule also provides a "calendar 2011" date for Wii and Kinect game The Black Eyed Peas Experience.

The second Your Shape Fitness Evolved game, YSFE 2012, will be out for Kinect in November.
