If you want an improvement over the Xbox 360's current D-pad, you can wait until November 9 and pick up one of the new controllers with the twisty directional pads ... or you could get one of these things. Evil Controllers is offering standard wireless or wired Xbox 360 controllers with the addition of the "Evil D-Pad," which replaces the traditional rocker switch with four buttons. Desperate times (including any time you're trying to play a game with the D-pad) call for desperate measures!

You can order a wired controller with an Evil D-Pad for $54.99, or a wireless version for $74.99. That is, of course, unless you choose to bundle it with other mods. If you're going to do this to your controller, why stop there?

Zoo Games has announced a DS game based on ... some rubber bands. This December, Zoo will release Silly Bandz, the official game of those rubber bands in the shape of animals and Justin Bieber.

Silly Bandz tasks players with freeing Bandz from capture by launching other Silly Bandz at the structures in which they are trapped. Screenshots found on Amazon show an Angry Birds-esque experience: a side-scrolling game where players knock over colored block-structures and ... is that a giant magnet?

Of course, the actual game content doesn't matter at all, because it ships with a set of twelve video game-themed Silly Bandz -- and the office supplies are the real selling point here. In July, Zoo announced that this game would be released on iPhone as well (without free Bandz, of course), but that version has yet to be dated.

It's hard to tell if the ad embedded after the break is purely official, but it definitely reeks of HP. In a good way, that is. Uploaded by the same fellow that gave us our first sneak peek at webOS 2.0, this "Sizzle" ad shows 34 solid seconds of Palm Pre 2 action, complete with a glimpse at Angry Birds, Facebook and all sorts of new 2.0 features. We're aren't totally digging the tunes, but otherwise, it looks to be rather attractive -- way better than the first wave of original Pre ads, that's for sure.
