Today, Ubisoft® announced that Just Dance 4, the brand new iteration of the most popular dance video-game, is now available in the UK, on the Wii™ system from Nintendo, Microsoft Kinect™ for Xbox 360® and Sony PlayStation® Move for PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system. The game will also be available on the Wii U™ system from Nintendo during the Wii U™ launch window.
Since its launch in 2009, the Just Dance series has totally renewed the dance video-game genre, putting the accessibility and the fun at the core of the experience. Friends, families, kids, teens or adults, people from all over the globe have already enjoyed moving their bodies to new chart-toppers and all time-classics. Just Dance 4 also includes an array of fresh new features and game modes, including:
§ Battle Mode: In the all-new Battle Mode, friends go head to head with each other in six rounds of dance battles. During the battle, the choreography and music changes in real time, depending on who is currently winning or losing. The ultimate winner gets bragging rights until the next dance battle!
§ Alternate Choreographies: Players have the chance to unlock alternative dance routines for some of their favorite tracks. They can opt for a more challenging, faster-paced routine or more outlandish choreography, depending on their mood.
§ Expanded Just Sweat Mode: The popular Just Sweat mode gets a major upgrade with new workout sessions, personalized programs and a calorie counter to track your workout intensity. With Just Sweat, players stay fit while having fun – it’s exercise in disguise!
§ Nintendo Wii U-exclusive Features: The Wii U version introduces up to 5-player gameplay with an exclusive Puppet Master Mode. The Puppet Master Mode allows the player operating the new Wii U GamePad™ to switch dance routines that are being performed by the four other players in real-time. In this mode, the operator has the power to create choreographies and choose playlists for the other players to follow. In addition, the operator also has the ability to write on-screen live dedications and take pictures and videos of the best dance moments to share online!

Hey guys, I just ported a tiny game to Dreamcast. It's called SDLLopanDC and it's a Mahjong-like game. It was originally developed by Dave Ashley (http://www.linuxmotors.com/sdllopan/ )

It works both on nullDC and a real Dreamcast. As Neoblast made me aware of it, it was already ported to DC in 2006 by ron. However, the original game has seen an update since then, so this can be considered "a better port".

Platform holder Sony has admitted that consumers have effectively killed off the 3D gaming revolution.
“Consumers decide how relevant it is,” SCE UK boss Fergal Gara told Eurogamer. “It's fair to say consumers have decided it's not hugely important at this time.
“It's a capability we've got. It may have a bigger life a little further down the line. It's great we can do it. It doesn't seem to be the most powerful USP at the moment, so you've seen us shift our effort onto fresh new exciting IP. I'm certainly really pleased to see the strength of that as we look into next year. We've seen a resurgence really with the strength of the output from the studio network.”
It’s certainly a stark change of tact for the company having spent years trying to convince consumers that 3D would be the next big thing.
In 2009 chief exec Sir Howard Stringer famously claimed that 3D TVs would be “in every home” by the end of 2010.
The following year the company predicted that 3D would revolutionise gaming, dubbing it as a “significant long-term strategy” with SCEE president Andrew House later predicting that 3D would experience a swifter uptake than HD.
And it’s perhaps no surprise that it’s the need for glasses that has eventually come back to haunt the technology. Indeed, detractors have since the beginning warned that the need for glasses would ultimately prove to be 3D’s downfall.
“Whether you look at movies or games, wearing the glasses and consuming 3D in that way in the home isn't hugely popular,” Gara admitted. “That's just a fact. I haven't read detailed research on it, but the glasses will certainly be a big part of the hassle factor.
“I also think there's a bit of a difference between the highly focused viewing and the more casual viewing. In the home people tune in and tune out a bit, and doing that with glasses on and glancing at your tablet or pausing for a bit, compared to the cinema experience which is a solely focused experience, you know there is a difference emerging there.”

The arrival of the new ‘Super Slim’ PS3 has boosted sales of the console in the UK.
Despite offering no significant price cut, PS3 sales were up 138 per cent last week according to UKIE and GfK Chart-Track data.
The new 500GB machine accounted for 37 per cent of all PS3s sold for the week ending September 28th. And with the new machine releasing last Friday, that means it clocked the numbers in just two days.
A European-only 12GB Flash memory based SKU will be released in the UK on October 12th. It’s retailing for anything between £180 and £200.

Retailer GAME has announced the return of its 99p Play Now Trade Later scheme – and this time it is available through its website.
“Each week the hottest new titles will be available for only 99p when trading in any two selected games,” the site explains.
“When your online order arrives, just head to your nearest store with your receipt/packing note and the two games to trade in within a week of the game's release, and you'll be refunded all but 99p.”
The Q4 releases to be covered by the offer are Borderlands 2, Formula 1 2012, World Of Warcraft Mists Of Pandaria, FIFA 13, Resident Evil 6

Take a look at BrewPi, a fermentation controller made with a Raspberry Pi. The project hacks control of a refrigerator and a light bulb into the pervue of a Raspberry Pi board. The RPi itself brings network connectivity to the mix. What you end up with is an already highly configurable fermentation system which is perched to receive even more features moving forward.
The man behind the system is [Elco Jacobs]. You may remember his name from the UberFridge project. That was a router-based fermentation controller. This keeps the same great hardware as well as online graphing and control features such as setting plot points for ramping temperature up and down. For now there’s also an Arduino being used which takes care of the hardware switching via json packets received from the RPi. But now that he’s worked out most of the bugs it should be fairly painless to dump the Arduino and build a proper RPi shield for this purpose.

The biggest game of the year has fallen short after just one week as Borderlands 2 not only loses the top spot in the retail PC charts, but also in the Steam charts.
No doubt aided by a 50 per cent sale price, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has seen a resurgence, which has carried the massively popular shooter back to the top of the chart.
Meanwhile, upcoming strategy title XCOM: Enemy Unknown sits at third with an impressive number of pre-orders ahead of its release on October 11th.

Dixons Retail has unveiled a new trade-in scheme at PC World and Currys stores that will enable consumers to get cashback on old Apple machines when they buy a new Macbook, iMac or Mac Mini.
Interested customers will be able to send off machines that are up to three years old, and in return they'll get up to £350 for an iMac, Macbook Air of Macbook Pro, or £250 for a Macbook.
Non-Apple-ites aren't forgotten, as they can also get £150 cashback for a Windows 7 laptop, or £100 for other laptops.
The cashback comes after customers purchase a new machine, then fill in a form, before sending off the older machine.
While the prices are perhaps lower than what some people would be able to get through a private sale, PC World and Currys will be hoping to grab market from those looking for an easy sale.
It'll be interesting to see how other players in Apple resale market are affected. What do you think?
