Amazon Appstore celebrates first anniversary in the UK by offering a free app bundle worth over £20.
The Android-based Amazon Appstore launched in the US back in March 2011, and debuted in the UK on August 30th.
Amazon has been frantically bolstering the platform since its debut, most recently offering developers a revenue share in exchange for selling its products through their apps.
To celebrate the one-year anniversary, Amazon is offering a mixture of top-selling apps and gamers worth more than £20 for free downloads, which is only on available to claim today.
The bundle includes: Jamie's 20 Minute Meals, Drawing Pad, Angry Birds (Ad Free), PAC-MAN HD, World of Goo, Shazam Encore, Swiftkey, Calengoo, Sprinkle, Paper Camera.
The move is an extension of Amazon's Free App of the Day scheme, which offers customers a paid-for app download for free. Amazon claims Brits have been able to save £500 on downloads over the year via the initiative.

It’s interesting to see the majority of best sellers from the past year are related to entertainment and games, further highlighting the trend of people looking to keep themselves amused whilst on the move.

As part of the celebrations, Amazon has listed the most popular apps and games in the UK since launch.
