Amazon’s Black Friday has hit the UK with week-long and lightning deals on tech goods.
Although an American tradition, Black Friday has been working its way across the pond over the past few years. It’s also evolved from a shopping day to mark the start of the US festive season, into a week’s worth of bargains ending on Cyber Monday (December 2nd) – the busiest online shopping day of the year.
This year Amazon is offering up to 40 per cent off PS3 consoles, up to 50 per cent off selected headphones, and a whopping 65 per cent off selected Olympus cameras.
Some of the deals are only week-long – ending on Sunday at 11.59pm, while others are ‘lightning deals’, running for a selected amount of time or until all stock is claimed.
Other retailers such as John Lewis and Asda have also confirmed their participation in Black Friday 2013, but it’s not just the multiples getting involved - indies are starting to get in on the action as well. One of them, Yoyotech, is already offering deals on gaming bundles.
Some of the latest deal right now include money off an Asus 15.6-inch Windows 8 laptop, Sony NEX3NL Interchangeable Lens Camera for £247.99 (38 per cent off), and AOC 23.6-inch Widescreen Multimedia LED Monitor for £90.21 (39 per cent off).
Some of the deals to have come and gone include Battlefield 4 on PC for £22.99 (34 per cent off), a 120GB Crucial Solid State Drive for £55.99 (50 per cent off), the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom Sim-Free for £280 (30 per cent off), Logitech UE 4000 headphones for £35 (56 per cent off) and a Belkin Mod Cover with Stand for Kindle Fire HD 7-inch for £14.99 (57 per cent off).
