Amazon has announced that the Amazon Fire TV will be coming to the UK after a successful US launch in April.
The Android-powered device streams movies and music, and also includes a game store enabling customers to purchase and play games through their TV.
The Fire TV is available for pre-order now and will launch in the UK on October 23 at a price of £79.99, although Amazon Prime customers pre-ordering the device before Monday, September 8 will be able to purchase it for £49.99.
Apps available on Fire TV at launch will include Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, YouTube, Sky News, Vevo and Spotify, with the likes of STV Player and Demand 5 following later.
A number of games will also available from day one, including the likes of Minecraft, The Walking Dead and Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas.
However, some games will require a separate game controller, also released on October 23 and priced at £34.99.
In April Amazon released a video showing some of the games begin developed for Fire TV including Sev Zero, a Fire TV-exclusive third-person shooter similar to Gears of War.
Back in February, Amazon acquired Killer Instinct developer Double Helix Games, stating the purchase was part of its "ongoing commitment to build innovative games for customers".
