Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was the New Year No.1 in the latest GfK Chart-Track Top 40.
The game was also the Christmas No.1, and secures its fifth time at the top of the charts with a 20 per cent improvement in sales.
Activision’s FPS has reportedly suffered a weaker-than-usual performance in the US, but in the UK the game has actually performed quite well.
Grand Theft Auto V rises to No.2 after four consecutive weeks at No.3, which means that FIFA 15 has to make do with third place. GTA V sales rose 33 per cent week-on-week, while FIFA 15 sales rose 11 per cent.
In fact, most games rose in sales. Assassin’s Creed: Unity is at No.4 with an 18 per cent sales improvement, which means the game has overtaken Far Cry 4, which is now in fifth spot with a four per cent sales rose. Sticking with the Ubisoft rend, The Crew is at No.6 for a second week with a seven [er cent sales increase, while a price cut for Sony’s DriveClub propels the game back into the Top Ten at No.7 (the game rose 24 per cent in sales).
