According to the latest Ukie Games Chart, compiled by GfK Chart-Track, sales of Activision’s latest entry in the blockbuster shooter IP surged 27 per cent last week, knocking Rockstar’s sprawling crime drama into second place.
It brings to an end the three-week run of the latter title at number one.
The feat means that Advanced Warfare and GTA V now have the same amount of both weeks at the top of the charts (seven) and consecutive weeks at number one (three).
Further down, EA’s FIFA 15 and Deep Silver’s Saints Row IV Re-Elected/Gat Out of Hell double-pack stuck at three and four, respectively.
Advanced Warfare’s predecessor, Call of Duty: Ghosts, slipped two places to number seven, clinging on to the Top Ten thanks to the tail of a retail promotion.
Outside of the Top Ten, 2D block-builder Terraria shoots up 15 places and 77 per cent in unit sales to take number 13 thanks to its retail launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
Here's the full UK Top Ten for the week ending January 31st:
