With mere days left until Nintendo's Wii arrives in North America, gamers resigned to camping out overnight for one of the consoles have been given another option. Instead, they can camp out in front of their computers, as Amazon this morning sent out an e-mail to customers saying that the Wii would be available for purchase from the online retailer "on 11/19, Sunday morning (PST)."
The e-mail was sent to customers who asked to be notified when Amazon began taking orders for the Nintendo Wii. The Web commerce giant said it expects a quick sellout of its entire allocation of systems, as the number of notification requests it received on the system was more than 100 times the number of units Amazon has to sell. However, it also expects "to receive periodic shipments" of Wii systems throughout the holidays.
