Microsoft has decided to release the Fable 2 Pub Games on Live Arcade this August.

You can get these for free by pre-ordering the standard or fancy edition of the game, or by shelling-out 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60) - we're that will get you all three, but it may end up being the cost of each.

The three Fable 2 Pub Games are called Keystonr, Spinnerbox and Fortune's Tower, and are each variation of popular casino pursuits such as roulette and craps, slot machines and press your luck - a sort of pyramid card game.

Most exciting for Fable 2 fans is the ability to carry your winnings into the the role-playing game when it's released later this year. Game designer Peter Molyneux reckons you could start Fable II as a millionaire if you put enough time in.

The Collector's Edition, incidentally, comes with a "Making Of" DVD, a collectable Hobbe figure, some in-game content and a Live trial card to get it with.

Fable 2 is due out exclusively on Xbox 360 this winter.

This week, try your hand at a fast paced co-op based shooter with Schizoid or a more laid back round of golf with Golf: Tee It Up.

Schizoid has been billed as one of the best co-op action games ever. Buddy up with a friend online or offline (or play single-player with an AI partner) and blast through waves of enemies. Enemy waves are made up of two colors - you and your partner are two colors - so you've guessed it, the same colors can kill the same colors. I realize I've probably confused you so go download the game and try it out. Once you get in there, you'll see what's going on.

Schizoid will be 800 Microsoft Points

Golf: Tee It Up!, also available on Wednesday. Customize your golfer and enjoy a few holes or compete in an 18 hole tournament online or offline.

Some game modes available are Stroke, Cup and matchplay.

Golf: Tee It Up! will be 800 Microsoft Points

Quoted from a post the GameFAQs PSP Message Board

It does you guys no good to have no warning, so I'll tell you.

GameFAQs is about to update its TOS. The new document will be roughly the same as GameSpot's current TOS. The largest and most noticeable change is the inclusion of homebrew under the Illegal Activities rule. That's why all the stickies have gone - even CJayC's, because it is no longer correct.

When the new TOS hits the site, all of the topics on this board (and the DS and Wii boards, as they each have a good homebrew community) that talk about homebrew will be deleted or closed. If they're deleted, you'll probably get an NKL, and contesting it will do no good.

If you want to complain about this change, here is not the place to do it (as it's considered Off-Topic). In fact, complaining about it at all isn't going to help, as this ruling is never going to be rescinded.

If you need information concerning homebrew, there are plenty of other sites out there that can help you. Because linking to those sites will be a violation of the new TOS, I can't link to them for you, but Google is always your friend

It seems again homebrew and piracy have been painted with the same brush by a "Big" site.

Moved to Network News as this implicates all Homebrew Communities, isnt it time the Mainstream didnt put us Homebrewers with the pirates ??? ...

Bungie is celebrating itself today and offering you a bag of Halo 3 goodies for absolutely free.

Top of the pile is the new Cold Storage map, which is a remake of Chill Out from Halo 1. Plus you can also grab the Legendary Map Pack for a little less money at 600 Microsoft Points (GBP 5 / EUR 7) .

You'll need to have those if you want to join the Cold Storage online playlists, by the way, which will be rotated from today.

Bungie is offering an Xbox 360 theme as well as a bundle of Gamerpics, too. These will only be available today, so you had better get moving.

We all know Microsoft won't comment in rumour and speculation but it looks like the publisher is readying a new Halo unveiling for E3 in a few weeks. But will it feature everyone's favourite Chief? Not so, a source tells CVG.

According to a rumour on Sarcastic Gamer, the fourth instalment is already in development: "A very good and anonymous source tells us that Halo 4 is already in full development over at Bungie." Unfortunately there was no further info available on the franchise's movements.

But we've done a little digging of our own and reckon a new Halo game could be revealed at this year's E3.

Whether or not it'll be the Peter Jackson project or the previously rumoured third-person prequel, remains to be seen. Believe us we've tried poking, threatening, starving and even tickling to find out more. But nothing...

At the end of May we revealed that, even though most of Microsoft's E3 line-up had been blown all over the internet, there were still two unknown announcements. "According to well placed sources close to Microsoft, the publisher has two more 'big' Xbox 360 games to be revealed for its 2008 line-up." We're now certain that a new Halo title is going to be one of them. Speculate below.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3

    Publisher: Capcom
    Developer: Backbone Entertainment
    Player: 3 (on/offline)
    Genre: Action Adventure
    Platform: XBLA (Reviewed), PSN

Overview : It is the second sequel to Capcom's Commando arcade game, first released in 1985 and then ported to nearly every system of the time, (including the BCC Micro which I owned, played and sucked at). Lucky for me this game is a lot easier (or I have gotten a lot better, but I doubt that) as its obviously aimed at western audiences with it modern American animé/cartoon stylised graphics.

    Features :

Only on Xbox LIVE: Players who purchase Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will be automatically eligible for the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta test: (only until August 20th or sooner)
    • Three playable soldiers with their own unique characteristics.
    • Multiple weapons, including rocket launchers, grenades and shotguns.
    • Controllable co-op vehicles
    • Support for up to three players simultaneously, both online and on a single console.
    • Four difficulty levels, which automatically adjust based on the number of players in the game.
    • Comprehensive scoring system.
o Score Multipliers allow players to maximize their points tally.
    o Online Leaderboards

If you played any of the old school shooters back in the 80s / early 90s, you will know what to expect. Not much of a plot, but we all new that it was never going to be like that. The characters basicly a rip of Arne (Commando film) and Rambo, but they have also have a token black girl, to cover both gaming minority's, how PC of them. The presentation is nice and slick, and general well done, personally I like how the jazzed up the pause menu. But as for in game graphics your not going to be blown away, its just simple, nice and bright, cell shaded graphics.

But this game was never about great story or great graphics, its all about old school gameplay, and thankfully they have gotten this right. There is no strategy involved here, bar shoot exploding barrel and destroy enemy spawn points, This is about making thing go BOOM and mowing down thousand of soldiers (its ok, they are bad guys, you can tell because they are not American). Just like the films the games are inspired by, this is just plain dumb fun.

Surprisingly, it slows down the very odd time in 3 player + explosions, a game with this graphic level, you would think, should not have this problem.

The campaign is short (complete all levels in 1 hour) and repetitive (lack of enemy variety) but vehicle sections and a few uninspiring bosses breaks up gameplay. Multiplayer and secrets helps replay, but not enough to keep you playing the game for more than a few hours.

Old school high scoring could have helped longevity, but because of constantly respawning enemies, high scores can be achieved by slowly playing though rather than using any skill making the highscore leader board pointless. The game is also much harder in solo, than in multiplayer even thought it ups the amount of enemy's for when paling in co-op. You can select which stage you want to play until you complete the whole game, which can be annoying if you died in the last level, but then that just the old school way.

Conclusion: So, it wants to be an old school game, and it succeeds. But that's the problem, these games were great back in the day, but only if you played them for a few hours. But at 800 MS points ($10.00/£6.80/€9.30), I don't think its good value for money. But if your a fan of the original games, then its worth trying it. Or if you are a huge Street Fighter Fan you have bought it already and have been handing my ass to me via Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta. (I really suck a Street Fighter).

    Pros:
    - Old School gameplay
    - 3 player Co-op fun
    - Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta

    Cons:
    - Short
    - Repetitive

The PSP is still sitting pretty at the top of the Japanese hardware chart this week.

There's a fair bit of distance between Sony's handheld and two Nintendo platforms, according to Media Create data, while the Wii and DS are just hundreds of sales apart.

In fourth place is PS3, with sales continuing to drop following the launch week Metal Gear Solid surge. The final tally was 17,973 unit, which is 2000 less than last week.

Significantly below is the ageing PS2, rumoured to be getting yet another redesign later this year.

And finally Xbox 360 did all right this week, relatively speaking. More than 5000 units were shifted - that's around double the usual figure.

The software chart points to Gundam: Operation Troy and Battlefield: Bad Company doing well for the platform.

    1. PSP - 58,861
    2. DS - 48,884
    3. Wii - 48,480
    4. PS3 - 17,973
    5. PS2 - 7,673
    6. Xbox 360 - 5,104

Overall the DS accounted for 24 games in the top 40, followed by Wii with nine, PSP with eight, PS2 with five, and Xbox 360 and PS3 with two

    1. [NDS] Derby Stallion DS - 148,000
    2. [WII] Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World - 137,000
    3. [NDS] Daigasso! Band Brothers DX - 120,000
    4. [PS2] Shinseki Evangelion Pachislot Vol. 12 - 55,000
    5. [NDS] Higurashi no Nakukoru ni Kizuna: Dai-Ichi-Kan - 55,000
    6. [WII] Wii Fit - 34,000 / 2,292,000
    7. [PS3] Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots - 34,000 / 566,000
    8. [WII] Mario Kart Wii - 31,000 / 1,508,000
    9. [WII] Super Mario Stadium Family Baseball - 31,000 / 89,000
    10. [360] Gundam Operation Troy - 28,000

Lest you have no idea what Bungie Day is, that's Monday, July 7 (7/7, get it?). Yes, starting on July 7, Halo 3's newest map Cold Storage will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace absolutely free. Not only that, but Microsoft will also be lowering the price of the Legendary Map Pack from 800 Microsoft Points to 600 Microsoft Points. The best part of all is that these prices will become the permanent prices of the content. In other words, Cold Storage and the Legendary Map Pack price drop aren't part of the limited time, one day only Bungie Day goodies that will be on Marketplace. Joy!

In celebration of Bungie Day and the release of Cold Storage, a special 48-hour free for all playlist is going up. Specific details are sparse, but Bungie's Luke Smith promises that players will be able to control "Rockets, Invis and Snipe." Mmmm ... sounds nice and spammy. Finally, "one last thing" about Cold Storage is set to drop some time today on Bungie.net. Keep your eyes glued to X3F for whatever that may be.

This is basically how I think the xbox controller should have been in the first place. Its way more comfortable now and my gaming has improved too.

Its pretty obvious from the pics what Ive done. I moved the right hand stick to be level with the left and moved all of the buttons to the back. I happy with the way it came out.
