For the last year ive been away from DCEmu and once you step away its hard to get back but I decided a while back that its time to go back to basics and condense all the sites as far as I can, get rid of meaningless sites and then when I have it all as I want it, get back to newsposting like I used to years ago, with that in mind, all our Nintendo News is now going to be under one site, that means all the DS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, Gamecube, N64, Snes, GBA, NES, GBC, GB and any future news will all be together.

When I start posting news again we will host our files also and get back to the good old days.

Social games have overtaken the iPhone! Although MMOs like Game of War: Fire Age are at the top of the top grossing game list, these come and go - but Candy Crush and its likes are constantly there, close to the top, and have been for years. Smartphones are the gaming device of choice for today's generation, and casual is the leading game type played on them. But a few years ago a new type of casual game made its way to the top: social casinos. While the top 5 game list constantly changes, social casinos - just like other social games - are always there in the top 10, showing their popularity.

    What are social casinos?

Online casinos bring some well-deserved Las Vegas action into our lives. To play their games, you don't even have to leave home. You can simply visit the Royal Vegas Australian casino, register an account, and play. The Royal Vegas Australia welcomes players from all over the world, no matter if they want to play for real, of for fun. It offers them the same variety of games, the same excellent support, and the same amazing bonuses, too. With an excellent mobile offering, available both as an iPhone app and a web app, the Royal Vegas is one of the leading mobile gaming destinations today.

Social casinos try to build on the popularity of the Royal Vegas and its likes, offering a "free" alternative, without boundaries, to the regulated industry. Their games are similar, but with many more social elements, but they can't be played for real money, and they don't pay out real money wins either. They are the next best thing, especially useful for those living in countries where the real thing is not available (like most states in the US, for example).

The most played social casino games on the iPhone

Big Fish Casino is constant among the top 10 grossing iPhone apps in the US. The game was built by the Seattle-based casual game developer and publisher Big Fish Games, best known for its "Mystery Case Files" and "Hidden Expedition" series of "hidden object" adventures. Available for iOS and Android, and also through Facebook for desktop play, Big Fish Casino offers its players exciting slots with bonuses and free games, table games, poker, jackpots, giveaways, and some exciting Vegas action.

Slotomania is another constant, growing head to head with the above-mentioned game. Instead of a wide variety of casino games, Playtika's app focuses on slot machines alone. Its casino expertise probably comes from its parent company - it is owned by Caesars Entertainment, that specializes in hospitality and gambling.

To complete the "big three", we need to mention DoubleDown Casino & Slots, also constantly in the top 10. Just like the above two, the DoubleDown offers its players a simulated casino experience, but with a twist: it's owned by IGT, one of the world's largest casino game production companies, that supplies most Vegas-based casinos with a major part of their games. ...

Casino games are fun! Essentially that is why we love them and why we play them in our spare time. In the past people had to walk, drive or even fly in order to be able to enjoy a game of poker, or a spin on a slot machine, but nowadays, thanks to developments and progress in the IT industry it is possible to enjoy casino games in the comfort of your home, or basically whenever you are at the moment. Here’s one great online casino for you - www.goldenrivieracasino.com. If you’re a fan of casino games and you have an Android phone, you should have a look at this Android Casino Apps website. And in this article, we are going to present you the top 3 casino and poker games for Xbox.

    Casino Nights

Casino Nights is the most popular Xbox casino game at the moment. It has been available for Xbox 360 for quite a while now. This game was developed by GZStorm and unlike many other casino games that usually only include poker, this game also features blackjack, slots, red dog, video poker, keno and roulette. You have a chance of unlocking special modes. Despite the fact that you’re not playing for real money here, the game is very realistic and you can see just how well you would do if you were in an actual casino, online or brick and mortar. The demo version of the game can be downloaded for free. Alternatively, you can purchase it from Xbox 360 Indie Market for about 70p. It is totally worth it. ...

    2. DCEmu

The site known as DCEmu UK has had a rough few years and mostly my doing, trying to do too much rather than just focus on emulation and homebrew, too many ads, too many sites and sadly for me not coping at all well with the loss via cancer of a family member so very close to me.

However things will change, first off I need to make dcemu lean again and that means massively condensing sites into just a few, same with forums.

I also need to try and make the site and forums mobile friendly, which means going into the unknown a bit for me as we use a clever system that uses vbulletin to post our news.

I need to make sure that the sites/forums have more social integration, facebook, twitter etc etc

Im also going to rebrand DCEmu and get back to newsposting daily but without encroaching too much on my real life.

So a new Name for DCEmu, a slimline site featuring all the news you want but only for homebrew, emulation and hacking, little to no ads bar the ones that pay for the server, a cleansing of the forums, a new look forum.

It will all happen as soon as I can do it. ...

While everyone knows that the Mario games series has been popular since it launched during the 1980s, not everyone knows that even the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog drew inspiration from it. This long-running success is down to innovative worlds and levels like these 10.

    1. Level 8 Crown

This is the really hard final secret level in the Super Mario 3D Land game and requires you to claim no less than 290 Star Medals, beat each stage with Luigi as well as Mario and grab the Golden Flag Pole to make this level your own.

    2. Negative World

The most well-known secret level in the original Super Mario Bros instalment of the series, Negative World is an underwater level and includes some unlikely company for Mario – such as a goomba.

    3. Castle Roof Trick

The accepted way to reach the roof of the castle owned by Peach in Super Mario 64 is by dutifully securing all 120 Stars first – but you can speed things up if you are skilled in executing the Mario triple jump move. Go to the right end of the castle’s courtyard and start triple jumping using the hill and walls to help you reach the top.

    4. Grate Guy’s Casino

One of the secret casino levels in Mario games, you get to the casino controlled by Grate Guy in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars by using the Bean Valley hidden passage, beating the waiting Chomp Chomp and entering with a Bright Card. You can then win the Star Egg or Frog Coins by playing slots, blackjack and other games.

    5. Star World

Super Mario World offered five Star World secret levels with Yoshis to be collected for use later and culminated in Star World 5, where the secret exit to the final Special World was hidden.

    6. Special World

A really hard level to claim, this finale to Super Mario World had lots of incredibly hard stages – with the last being the ‘Awesome’ one featuring angular, icy slopes to be negotiated while avoiding Bullet Bills.

    7. Secret of Casino Delfino

There is a complex secret casino level on Delfino Island in Super Mario Sunshine. Accessed via the Hotel Casino’s fifth floor, scoring 777 on the twin slots and making a Shine Sprite from the question marks on the board provides entry to the next secret level where you can claim a Shine.

    8. Retro Mario

Super Mario RPG features a secret level where Mario goes back in time to become an 8-bit animation, and is accessed by taking Mario behind one of the curtains in a small room within Booster Tower.

    9. Autumn Re-skin

Having overcome the hard challenges of Super Mario World’s Special World, you will have the option of ‘re-skinning’ the entire game – changing everything from world map to colour scheme and taking on enemies wearing fresh masks in an autumnal Yoshi’s Island.

    10. Negative Warp Zones

Found within Super Mario Bros 2, these are accessed by avoiding the standard World 3-1 exit by jumping over it using the trampoline. It is something of a mixed blessing though, as the Negative Warp Zone can only be escaped from through suicide or going back to the very start!

March the 10th will see the annual Mario Day created to honour this games series, and you can always mark it by seeking out these secret levels. ...

    Article Preview

Nintendo is yet to reveal the first details of its upcoming NX console, and we are unlikely to hear anything concrete until this year's E3 conference in June.
    The NX. Probably.

Regardless, the internet is in a flap about a new set of rumours about a home console and handheld hybrid to replace both Wii U and 3DS.
Adding fuel to that fire, today saw a marketing survey slide pop up on NeoGAFwith a fresh set of claims - and again, reference to the NX as a console and handheld device. Eurogamer has spoken to individuals who responded to the survey and can verify it exists.
Whether Nintendo commissioned the survey and to what extent its information represents the console's final form is another matter, however.
The slide describes NX software as having gameplay which "flows" between the console's home device and handheld.
Players will be able to earn and share achievements, surf the web and make video calls - so far, so believable.
But the survey goes on to mention "4k/60fps video streaming" and "gameplay graphics at 900p/60fps". Plenty of Wii U games are 1080p, which makes this claim stand out as odd.
Eurogamer understands the survey goes on to quiz responders on how much they'd pay for the device and whether they would want a console with a disc drive (or not).
Another question asks if users would be interested in a Netflix-style game subscription service.

The survey was posted by major market research company GfK, the same outfit which collects game sales data for Chart-Track in the UK.
Immediate reaction to the survey - especially the 900p detail - was negative. Although, as already stated, it is likely much of the information contained within was simply to test the waters. Consider the marketing surveys which Ubisoft sends out each year with suggestions for further Assassin's Creed. Some questions reflect features in upcoming games - which are by that point already well into development - while others are there seemingly to simply canvass opinions.
If this does come from Nintendo, it is probable a similar tactic is being used here. Or, if not from Nintendo, it is another company's best guesses.
The only thing certain at this point is that Nintendo will reveal details on NX when it is ready - either at E3, or to the Japanese newspaper Nikkei which will publish all the details online prematurely and spoil all the surprises (as has happened in the past).
    We've contacted GfK for comment.
