byuu has released a WIP version of his SNES emulator bsnes.

    Quote:
This release marks a major milestone: low-level emulation of the DSP-1B coprocessor, used by the following games:

    Ace Wo Nerae

    Armored Trooper Votoms

    Ballz 3D

    Battle Racers

    Bike Daisuki! Hashiriya Kon

    Final Stretch

    Korean League

    Lock On/Super Air Diver

    Michael Andretti´s Indy Car Challenge

    Pilotwings

    Super 3D Baseball

    Super Air Diver 2

    Super Bases Loaded 2

    Super F1 Circus Gaiden

    Super Mario Kart

    Suzuka 8 Hours

    Syutoko Battle Racing 2

    Syutoko Battle Racing 94

This represents a major advance in their accuracy. More specifically, this low-level emulation allows for absolutely perfect timings, whereas the DSP-1B had no timing whatsoever before with the previous high-level simulation code.

You can download the new release under the source section of the bsnes page, or from my Google Code page. Please note that you will need the DSP-1B program ROM to play these games now, and I absolutely cannot provide you with this or tell you where to get it, as it is a copyrighted work.

If you would like to read more on this feat, please see the latest article: The future of SNES coprocessor emulation.

Donations needed to advance SNES emulation:

Also, please see the bottom of that article: I need donations in order to have the DSP-2, DSP-3 and DSP-4 coprocessor program ROMs extracted. By helping with this, we will vastly improve the emulation accuracy of: Dungeon Master, SD Gundam GX and Top Gear 3000. SD Gundam GX is unplayable in any emulator as of yet, and Top Gear 3000 has various AI issues due to incomplete simulation.

Or simply jump straight to the donation info page: donations needed.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help!

Besides the well-known exploits found on the demo Patapon2 and playing Everybody's Golf 1 and 2, which allowed to reopen its doors to the world of homebrew for those who are in conditions is not possible to change your PSP, it adds another discovered for some time but until now hidden in the Japanese demo of Everybody's Sukkiri . The coder mamosuke, j416, JJS, and m0skit0 wololo had decided to keep it in Serbian for the days of lean, but the coder Jeerum, in a far from correct timing, has decided to release the news. Currently you can also start the HBL specially designed to exploit this new, but have not yet been carried out exhaustive tests on fw 6.35.
Total_noob can then choose whether to release the version of 6.20HEN 6:35 for using the exploit VSH announced by him, or bring all the work on HBL, reserving as a trump card.
The operation of the exploit is similar to what has been seen so far, just load the hacked save, and select Continue ...

Blitz was originally a VIC-20 game (late 70s/early 80s) - so maybe not many of you guys have seen it before. The original game was based upon the German bombing of London during World War 2 (The Blitz) where you were a Luftwaffe bomber pilot. My version has been a little modernised as you are now flying a B2 Stealth Bomber although your bombs are not the modern guided variety.

Fly your plane and bomb the city. You loose height on every run, you have a limited number of bombs and you can only drop them one at a time. The only control you need is the 'A' button.

    Enjoy.

It seems so obvious: Using Kinect to help people learn American Sign Language. That's exactly what researchers at Georgia Tech College of Computing are working on, pairing Microsoft's oft-hacked motion sensing camera with custom software that previously required colored gloves kitted with wrist-mounted, 3-axis accelerometers. On a series of increasingly difficult tests, the software returned results with 100% accuracy, 99.98% accuracy, and 98.8% accuracy.

These promising results mean the team will be working on updates including a larger vocabulary which necessitates the need of "hand shape features." The initial proof-of-concept demo launched with a small vocabulary that excluded them in favor of broader gestural movements with the arms and body. We imagine that reported fourfold increase in Kinect image resolution would have a major benefit here, should Microsoft ever release it.

UC Davis's Oliver Kreylos has been responsible for two of our most impressive Kinect hacks yet. He was one of the first to get proper 3D video out of the thing, following that up by pairing up two of the cameras, one to fill in the gaps of the other. You might have thought he was just playing around but no -- oh no. There was a method to the madness and his ulterior motive has been revealed: 3D telepresence. This is what he's been working on all along and he has an early version operational, using the output from two Kinects in a remote office to beam a 3D representation of another person to his display, which he can navigate around (and through) using a Wiimote. Meanwhile, the viewer can see the position of Oliver in real-time, a virtual camera floating around and enabling them to maintain eye contact despite her not actually looking at either physical camera. That demonstration is embedded after the break along with a somewhat fanciful follow-up in which Kreylos engages in a rather... protracted lightsaber battle against the forces of evil.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River creative director Sion Lenton has told Edge that games focusing on live conflict are inappropriate.

"I, personally, don't want to focus on live conflict. I don't think it's appropriate and I don't think it's tasteful," the Codies man told the mag.

"One of the girls who works here, her nephew was killed by an improvised explosive device [IED] a couple of months ago. So when I hear that, I don't want to be in a ****ing meeting bigging up my IED tech."

EA opted to choose the Afghanistan war as the subject of its recent Medal of Honor reboot. It was a controversial decision that drew a fair degree of criticism, and the publisher subsequently went as far as to remove the Taliban as a playable force in the title's multiplayer mode.

"We are deliberately setting out not to court that controversy, we don't want to go there and it's not a conversation we ever wanted to get into," Lenton added. "At no point did we think that it would be cool to set the game in Helmand or Afghanistan, because there's a war going on there and there are British soldiers dying.

"We're still making a war game, and showing soldiers dying, but I guess [the fiction] is us playing safe. But I don't have a problem with playing safe when it comes to this kind of thing."

Stumped for that last little item to top up your nearest and dearest's Christmas stocking? Well, it looks like Sony is trying to nudge consumers towards one of those new-fangled 3D TVs, cataloging all PlayStation 3-compatible content available now or coming soon.

According to the PlayStation Blog, there are now 18 games that let you play in stereoscopic 3D, with a further nine confirmed for 2011 so far.
