Microsoft's Xbox 360 Kinect Holiday Value Bundle is on sale for $239 as part of today's Gold Box discounts on Amazon. Those that act fast will get the redesigned Xbox 360 E console loaded with a 250 GB hard drive, a controller, a Kinect camera and three games: Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports: Season 2and a download code for Forza Horizon.
The bundle normally costs $399, amounting to enough savings to pick up a few extra games, or better yet, groceries so you don't starve this month. Again, the deal is only on for today as long as supplies last, and is a great deal for people that haven't bought an Xbox 360 in the last few days . It's also a good deal for those that aren't picking up a PS4 or Xbox One this coming month.

Looking to get a head start on next month's Xbox One launch and save some cash while you're at it? Starting this week, Amazon is giving away a $20 Xbox Live gift card with every purchase of an Xbox Live Gold 12-month membership.
Amazon is also taking $20 off of the MSRP of Xbox Live Gold one-year memberships for buyers who purchase an Xbox One or Xbox 360 hardware bundle, stacking extra savings on top of the gift card offer.
Note, however, that the gift card promotion is only available for Gold memberships purchased through Amazon itself, and not from third-party sellers. The promotion runs from October 27 through November 9.

Warner Bros third game in the Arkham series has entered the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 in first place.
Batman: Arkham Origins only managed to sell around half the units achieved by its predecessor, Arkham City, in its first week although it matches the performance of the first game Asylum.
Fellow Warner title LEGO Batman remains the UK’s all-time best-selling Batman game.
Grand Theft Auto V has to settle for second place this week while FIFA 14 and Skylanders Swap Force also both slip a place to third and fourth respectively, the latter dropping some 50 per cent in sales week-on-week.
There’s a 20 place jump for Mind Candy’s Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed after sales grew 350 per cent week-on-week.
Ubisoft’s Rocksmith 2014 Edition debuts in 15th, EA’s The Sims 3: Into the Future in 18th and Activision’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 27th.

A third party wall mount for Xbox One Kinect includes a ‘privacy cover’ which obscures the peripheral’s RGB and IR cameras.
As spotted by Polygon, PDP’s accessory features a sliding cover that can be positioned in front of the Kinect’s lenses thereby stopping the camera potentially watching the events taking place in the living room. It's available on Amazon in the US for $19.99.
Microsoft has repeatedly assured users that Kinect, which is always on by default, will not snoop on users and that the information it gathers will not be fed to third parties.
Indeed, the camera can be turned off and following the post-E3 reaction to Xbox One Microsoft now allows the console to function even if Kinect is not plugged in.

Apple's plan to launch the iPad Air with cellular data support for T-Mobile was apparently just the start of a larger strategy. US Cellular has announced that it will offer the featherweight tablet on November 8th, while regional carriers like Bluegrass Cellular, C Spire and GCI say that they'll stock the device in the "coming weeks." Of the bunch, only US Cellular has mentioned that it will also sell the iPad mini with Retina display; that's not surprising, though, when Apple hasn't even picked a release date for its own stores. It's doubtful that the new cellular iPad providers will make a big impact on Cupertino's bottom line, but the company clearly wants to leave no network uncovered.

They say you can't put a price on happiness, but we bet the Star Wars fan(s) who bought this LaserDisc off eBay didn't mind paying $699 for 30 minutes of bliss. After all, it contains 50 raw and behind-the-scene takes from Return of the Jedi, which the public has never seen before. Back in the day, Lucasfilm used LaserDiscs to save material due for processing on its proprietary EditDroid software, a precursor to modern-day systems like Final Cut Pro. The good news is that whoever it was that shelled out the money belongs to the light side of the Force and has chosen to share their good fortune. They're posting the disc's content bit by bit on a Facebook page, and right now, there are five videos you can watch to make the weekend better. Seeing as copyright issues might arise along the way, though, don't be surprised if the clips disappear faster than Yoda's body.

Brits in the market for a cheap 7-inch tablet have been spoiled of late, what with the launch of Tesco's £119 Hudl and Argos' £100 MyTablet. "But, hang on," Carphone Warehouse's thought, "we sell a budget tablet, too." And so, seeking some attention itself, the UK retailer has discounted its Avoca tablet from £99 to £49 (around $80) -- until November 4th when the offer expires, anyway. That investment will get you a 7-inch display at 800 x 480 resolution, a 1GHz Rockchip CPU, half a gig of RAM, 8GB internal storage (a microSD slot for up to 32GB cards is present), a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a WiFi radio, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and, of course, a healthy dose of bezel. Carphone Warehouse may have succeeded in undercutting its UK competition, if only temporarily, but we can't help but think you'll probably get what you pay for in this instance.
