EA will launch a multiplayer beta for the new Medal of Honor game on 5th July according to retailer Play.com.

"Pre-ordering Medal Of Honor from Play.com will give fans the opportunity to join the Medal of Honor multiplayer BETA when it goes live on July 5th 2010," according to the listing (thanks VG247).

"The BETA will take place between July 5th and July 17th - access codes will be emailed on July 5th. All pre-orders through Play.com will entitle customers to an access code. BETA access details are subject to change at any time."

The multiplayer side of Medal of Honor, which will be shown off at E3 in Los Angeles next week, is being developed by Swedish studio DICE, while the single-player campaign has been put together by EA Los Angeles.

So far we've only seen the single-player in detail. Check out our most recent Medal of Honor single-player preview for a full overview.

The game is due out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 15th October.

Greig 'Theremin Hero' Stewart has developed a way to play Guitar Hero with a theremin, like an air guitar. The results speak for themselves, in this rocking video complete with awesome costumes and some sweet artwork. It even has a Co-op mode. ROCK ON! This needs to be a real product!"
The beginning is a bit annoying, but this has to be one of the coolest "projects" I've seen in a long time.

xbeefsupreme writes with news that Harmonix has officially demonstrated Rock Band 3's 25-key MIDI keyboard. From USA Today:
"During the game, green, red, blue, yellow or orange keys flow on a 'stream' representing the notes to be played on five corresponding keyboard keys. In a new authentic Pro mode meant to help players segue to actual instruments, all 25 keys are used; the streams shifts left and right to cover the correct keys. The keyboard also works as a MIDI keyboard that can be connected to a computer. 'This is a real instrument and a real device,' says senior designer Sylvain Dubrofsky."
The game will also support more advanced "real" guitar controllers, which have six actual strings you can strum.

v3n3 released the first public version of 360 Screenshot Tool:
    [QUOTE]
"360 Screenshot Tool" was actually just a little app for myself and was never meant to hit the public.
After some other Screenshot-App releases and people moaning about using XYZ many apps just to extract Screenshots I decided to release my little app.

Now, after 2 releases I decided to recode the hole thing.
The old build used some static stuff on STFS ( BIG mistake ) and didnt work for many people.
Also including that the STFS class barely worked :-/

Since I received Supermodder911´s Xbox 360 Class I decided to recode all of my old Xbox 360 Apps.
This is the first Im gonna release.

    Ive recoded everything so far.
Dont ask for Injection / Creating Screenshots.
I personally dont support Xbox LIVE modding ( excluding GS ), so that part of the app will never be released ;-)

The developers of FIFA 11 have told Eurogamer that they are "confident" of fixing the things people find offputting about the multiplayer side of FIFA, but that people quitting out from losing positions "comes with the territory".

That's not to say the team is ignoring the harmful impact of "rage quitting", as lead producer David Rutter explained.

"One of the things we've been toying with the idea of is a gentlemanly defeat where you can request to quit," he told Eurogamer.

"Where if you're 5-0 down you can say, 'Look this is no fun, can I please leave?' And the other person can say yes or no.

"The other one we've been toying with is, if they quit then the AI takes over and you play out against the CPU.

"But it is incredibly frustrating. I guess take a certain amount of cheer from it that you've played so well that the other person is infuriated to the point of quitting. I think it comes with the territory of football games."

Clubs mode - in which teams of up to five humans competed against one another - came under fire last year after the developer reduced the quality of the NPC players who fill out the squads.

This resulted in annoying situations where human players, using "Pro" players they had levelled up, would be paired with child-like defenders and goalkeepers who could barely reach the crossbar.

"It's a tough one because we're kind of on the frontiers of what's been done before, so actually getting people to turn up and do these things is a challenge in itself sometimes," Rutter told us.

"Last year what we wanted to do was discourage people somewhat from being Manchester United and 'I want to be Wayne Rooney', and actually allowing them to become football stars in their own right.

"I think in many ways we achieved that and in some ways we didn't... We're pretty confident we're addressing the vast majority of things that people are unhappy about in Clubs this year.

"I can't talk about a whole bunch of stuff, but we are definitely having goalkeepers who are like goalkeepers, and you have defenders who are like defenders. But if you want to set yourself up as a five-foot centre-back, and that's your personality, then we're going to let you do that. The AI won't generate team support players for you based on ridiculous physical attributes."

Creative director Gary Paterson concurred: "Obviously we made a mistake with four-foot goalies and what-have-you, because it unbalanced the game. We're aware of that and we're going to address that.

"But the general idea behind it is that we want to encourage people to play with 10 players."

Check out our whopping FIFA 11 preview elsewhere on the site. Key features for this year's release include Personality+, which emphasises the full range of individual players' qualities, and Pro Passing, which is designed to result in more rewarding build-up play.

It will also be possible to record custom chants, and there are myriad other tweaks, like optional handball, customisable nets and - finally! - the option to save replays locally.

"What we wanted to do was to keep going with what we did with 08, 09 and 10, which is refining the brilliant gameplay that we've got now, responding to feedback, and doing some cool innovations as well," lead producer Rutter told us in summary.

An iPad stuffed inside an iBook not your cup of tea? Then perhaps this Macintosh Classic mod will be better suited to your more discerning, old school tastes. As you might expect, there's not a lot involved in this one -- just some gutted internals and an opening on the side that lets you slip in an iPad, which magically fits just where the old CRT used to be. Head on past the break for the video, and hit up the source link below for a peek at some of the possibilities offered by the mod.

Sony has confirmed that trailer videos for "PS4" doing the rounds on YouTube are nothing to do with the company.

"I can confirm that this video is not from SCE [Sony Computer Entertainment]," a PR representative told Game Informer.

The chances of Sony announcing a new home console next week were zero, obviously, but the 3D focus of the videos - one of which you can watch below - led some to believe that it might be a cunning viral campaign for PlayStation 3's expanding range of features, including stereoscopic 3D.

Sony's E3 press conference is on Tuesday 15th June at 12pm PST / 8pm BST, and the company is expected to show off the likes of Killzone 3, and provide more information on PlayStation Move and its 3D products.

As it releases its first four 3D-enabled games for PlayStation 3, Sony has begun to reveal its E3 hand, as well as ongoing plans for 3D viewing at home.

The first Sony 3D TV - the Bravia KDL-HX803 - goes on sale tomorrow from around 600 UK stores, and will support 3D gaming and Blu-ray playback for those devices that offer it. The screen will require the separate purchase of a 3D transmitter and glasses, though a higher-end screen due in July will include integrated 3D.

While much of Sony's London press briefing this morning focused on its releases in cinemas and on Blu-ray, there was confirmation of further 3D upgrades for PS3 - including 3D Blu-ray support. "All PlayStation 3s will be able to playback 3D games and movies by the end of this year," said Christian Brown, senior product manager at Sony Consumer Electronics.

"This is really giving the games a deeper experience. We've spoken to a lot of people, and the gamers are the people who are really taking this on board very very quickly, it gives them an advantage... against the people they are playing against online."

As well as 3D updates to PSN titles WipEout HD, Super Stardust HD and PAIN - plus a 3D demo of the latest Motorstorm title - Sony has revealed that its upcoming Move motion controller will be twinned with 3D stereoscopy.

The first game to offer this will be boxing title The Fight: Lights Out. Outside of Move, Killzone 3 and the next Gran Turismo game will be available in 3D, with many more reveals promised at E3.

With prices starting at £1400 and reaching as high as £3500 the first 3D Bravia screens may prove too pricy for most consumers. Sony drew proud reference, however, to a projection by Future Source Consulting claiming 40 per cent of TVs will be 3D by 2014.

    News via http://www.psp-hacks.com/2010/06/09/...and-more-news/

The PSP scene is alive and you found it — the #1 spot for all your PSP hacks. And this hack you’re about to read comes from my main man MaX SLayeR, by way of Master of Shadows over at PlayStationLandia (see source).

It’s been discovered that using PSP Filer 4.4 Kernel 3.xx, which seemingly works best with Half Byte Loader, you’re able to access (read/write) the PSP registry in flash1. So if you follow the steps below you can customize the XMB font by redirecting the fonts folder from flash0 to your memory stick. Lets get started:

Download the fontmod package below; it includes PSP Filer 4.4, fixupreg3, and fonts to try out.
Run PSP Filer via HBL; press R + Left to go into “Hacker Mode.”
Press start to move over to flash1.
Copy the registry folder to the memory stick.
Open the file “system.dreg” in a hex editor; Google for one.
    Change “flash0:/font” to “ms0:/fontmod” (or ef0:/fontmod if you’re on a GO).
Place the files from the registry into a folder with the files from fixupreg3, then run the .exe.
Place the new registry files back on the memory stick.
Place the fontmod folder in the root of the memory stick (or GO storage).
Run Filer, enter Hacker Mode, and copy the registry files from the memory stick over the files in flash1:/registry/.
Hit Home and exit to the XMB to see your new font.
That should be it. Now, real quick, we aren’t responsible if you damage your PSP. Messing with flash memory poses a potential risk; however, it’s unlikely you’ll cause a brick by performing the above. If you do mess up the PSP will prompt you to recover flash1 anyway. ...

O2 is the latest big mobile operator to axe its unlimited data tariffs, following US carrier AT&T's similar decision.
O2 is describing its change as "a more transparent pricing model tied to usage", and claims that 97% of its customers won't need to buy additional data allowances based on their current usage.
The operator's smartphone tariffs - all for 24-month contracts - start at £25 which includes 100 minutes of voice calls, unlimited texts and 500MB of data.
The most expensive is the £60-a-month tariff, which includes unlimited voice calls and texts, and 1GB of data. All the tariffs include unlimited Wi-Fi connectivity via partnerships with The Cloud and BT OpenZone.
The new tariffs apply to all new and upgrading O2 smartphone customers, including iPhone owners. The operator already applies a data cap to its iPad tariffs - the most expensive £15 monthly option offers 3GB of data.

Unlimited data will continue be offered to smartphone customers as a promotion until 1 October, but after that, people going over their data limit will have to spend £5 per 500MB extra as a Bolt-On.
O2 claims that 500MB is two and a half times the average O2 customer's current use, although it's not clear if the operator means the average smartphone customer with that stat - an important distinction.
"We know that customers are looking for clarity in pricing as too many offers have clauses and catches which are not easy to understand," says CEO Ronan Dunne.
"With the wide range of Internet based services now available on mobile devices we’re providing customers with generous clear data bundles that give customers freedom. This enables us to provide a better overall experience for the vast majority of customers and to better manage demand."
