    News/release from alexlh

    OK, FINALLY it is ready to release... I have been working with SquidMan to get the wiiload working (of course he helped with some other things). First off, let me finally let you download it... (note: If people are interested in the source... then email me for it, and I'll be glad to give it... email me at [email protected] )

    libupdate

    Now... instructions...

    First... here is how to use it...

    load_network();
    s32 main_server = connect_to_server("000.000.000.000");
    FILE *f = fopen(get_location("boot.elf", "/location/of-app"), "wb+");
    send_message(main_server, "/location-of-update/boot.elf", "www.url.of.server");
    instructions_update();
    get_file(main_server, f);
    fclose(f);
    net_close(main_server);

    You must do all of that to get it working... and everything alse is in the lib...

    000.000.000.000 is the IP Address of the server. example: "74.86.133.219"

    /location/of-app is where you want it to update/install if using wiiload. If it is not using wiiload... it will update in the app's current directory.

    /location-of-update/boot.elf is where on the server the update file is... YOU MUST PUT THE PROPER URL! example: /WiiMU/boot.elf

    www.url.of.server is the URL of the server. YOU MUST PUT THE WWW AS A PREFIX!

    For now... you must use it in console, because it uses a lot of printf's... I'll release a version that won't output anything... so it is compatible with everything...

    also, you can update any file you want, including meta.xml, etc!

    Hermes over at elotrolado has released a new version of the PCEngine emulator for the Nintendo Wii:

    09-09-2008 Wiiengine 1.2

    -- Added an option to exit from the shipper screen selection of ROMs (Click less and confirms)

    -- Now you can use the button least as SELECT (remember that you can use the button for the same MAS)

    -- Added an option to exchange and SELECT buttons RUN (Configuration menu)

    -- The Nunchuck is now supported: Use the stick, A -> I, B -> II & PLUS MINUS -> SELECT, 1 -> RUN (remember you can exchange RUN & SELECT from CONFIGURATION)

    -- Some games like Street Fighter 2 or Strip Fighter now operate without corruption graph.

    -- Fixed some problems with sound

    Hello

    Here I am presenting an emulator of PCEngine ported from the version I made for GP2X, gp2xengine, with a few things improved:

    -- Supports roms in format. Pce or compressed. Bz2 (the program can compress this format, pressing a button). Zip

    -- Supports ISOs and a special file,. Toc which contains a description of all tracks of audio data. In other words: my emulator supports audio as well (which may be in formats. WAV or. OGG) or discs with multiple tracks of data.

    -- I have prepared a utility to you cree file. Toc and tracks data format. Iso formato.ogg and audio from a CD-ROM image as a CUE / BIN

    -- It supports up to four Wiimote and you can configure the buttons to add or autofire exchange, for example

    -- You can save the state complete a game and retrieve it later to continue playing. The saves are compressed to minimize space

    -- It can capture a frame format. Bmp and then view it from the same Wii or export it to the PC to portray a good death, a score achieved or any curiosity. When entering a rom the meter is set to 0 and go to number catches in succession.

    On the stand CDROM, for example, dracula X is reduced its size from 506MB of. Bin by just 63 MB iso / ogg.

    We recommend that you read the readme.txt, especially how to create files. Toc (though the utility will create all the bincuesplit automatically, if you have the game on CD-ROM image format BIN / CUE.

    I hope you like

    Truly a great story:

    PROUD dad Keith Walker had a dream.

    He wanted to walk daughter Frances down the aisle for her wedding to Joseph Thornton.

    But Mr Walker suffered a severe stroke in March last year, which left him only able to move his fingertips.

    But three months later, after care and physiotherapy at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, he was able to walk Frances up the aisle.

    And as a thank-you for all the help he received from the team in Ward 21 he has become a major supporter and fundraiser.

    His most recent efforts have bought a state of the art Nintendo Wii games console and a 50in screen for the day-room to play it on.

    Patients in Ward 21 now have the very latest games console technology to help them in their rehabilitation thanks to the grateful former patient.

    Physio staff use the Wii system to develop co-ordination.

    Keith, 61, from Upper Cumberworth, said: “I have so much to thank the team in Ward 21.

    “They were so kind and determined, but tough when they needed to be.

    “They made sure I achieved my dream of walking my daughter up the aisle. It was something I feared I would never achieve.

    “This is a splendid form of rehabilitation and I hope it helps the patients on this wonderful ward.”

    Frances – now Mrs Frances Thornton – said: “After my dad’s stroke on March 11, a mere three months before my wedding, we thought we might have to postpone the big day as we thought he may be unable to attend, let alone walk me down the aisle.

    “However, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff at the HRI Stroke Unit, especially Terry Smith, his physiotherapist, the wedding went ahead on June 9 as planned.

    “My dad walked me down the aisle and even conducted a grand firework display which he had planned from his hospital bed! It was a wonderful day.

    “And since then he has become the proud grandfather of Isaac, who was born on February 14 this year.”

    The cash was raised from an Easter egg raffle this year which made £800.

    Since he left hospital Keith has raised thousands of pounds for the ward for extra equipment for patients.

    Games consoles are now increasingly used by physiotherapists across the country as an extra and entertaining form of rehabilitation.

    A patient is assessed for suitability before use and supervised by a physiotherapist or occupational therapist who matches them to the appropriate game.

    Bowling, for example, is very popular for patients who have lost some use in their arm after a stroke as it helps to re-use the affected arm and is enjoyable at the same time.

    The ward is also planning to buy more games such as chess to provide mental stimulation for patients to further boost their recovery.

    Sister Heather Cording said: “The game console is not just useful from a physiotherapy point of view it can also be used by occupational therapists to help stimulate the mind.

    “It can be played by an individual but also by groups which adds to the fun and to the therapy value. We are very grateful to Keith and his wonderful support for the team here.”

    This could only happen in the UK, personally i would love to beat Huntley to death with my bare hands and believe me if i was ever to meet him i would, heres the full article from the People online;

    Prison guards have been told to play Wii computer games with Soham monster Ian Huntley in a bid to stop him killing himself.

    They have also been instructed to call the murderer by his first name - and treat him like family.

    Bosses issued the order because Huntley has tried suicide three times since getting life in 2003 for killing ten-year-old schoolpals Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

    And they fear he will try again unless they keep him sweet.

    So taxpayers have picked up the bill to put a £179 Nintendo Wii console in Huntley's cell at Frankland Prison in Co Durham.

    And warders will join him in games which require players to replicate real-life actions in sports like tennis, golf and fishing.

    A jail source said: "Huntley has been asking for a Wii for months.

    "When he moved to Frankland in February he was given a Nintendo Game Cube - but after only a few weeks he began complaing it was out of date.

    "Management are desperate to stop him going though with threats he's made to kill himself and by giving him a Wii they believe they can take his mind away from harming himself in any way."

    Earlier this year, an internal jail memo instructed staff to "develop a positive dialogue" with the 34-year-old fiend.

    Officers were also told to treat him as "an extension of their family" and call him Ian or Mr Huntley.

    But the source said: "Many of them don't want to get involved with him because of his crimes.

    "But they know it's more than their jobs are worth if they don't comply."

    Huntley - Prisoner JG5778 - enjoys his cushy life in a private room within the health-care wing of the maximum-security jail.

    He can wear his own choice of designer clothes and has three meals a day brought to his cell.

    As well as the Wii, the room is fitted with a telly and CD player.

    And the walls are decorated with pictures of his ex-lover Maxine Carr.

    The source said: "He has almost everything done for him and is waited on hand and foot by the officers assigned to his care.

    "He lives in luxury - yet the parents of Holly and Jessica are living a nightmare."

    Here's my Gamecube mod. Inside is a Pico-ITX, 100Gig SATA hard drive, and Bluetooth recievers. I had also put a slimline slot loading drive in there but there was so little space inside that the motherboard overheated, causing the system to shut down after about 40mins.

    You can also see an Apple Wireless keyboard and Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse. The display is a 19" BenQ FP93V.

    Newly released today:

    Fantasy Zone is said to be the series most representative of popular Sega shooters. This collection contains all four installments of the popular game along with two spin offs. Aside from the existing games, this package also features a brand new alternative version of Fantasy Zone II.

    Loyally rendered for the PlayStation2 are the four installments of the original series: Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone II Opa Opa no namida, Fantasy Zone Gear Opa Opa Jr. no Bouken and Super Fantasy Zone.

Expect Opa Opa Jr., the son of the protagonist of the first two games to have an even more exciting adventure. The last installment wraps up the series and features Opa Opa's last battle scene.

Based on this concept, the alternate version of Fantasy Zone to is complete with new gameplay and scenes that will appeal to the tastes of gamers who are fans of the 80s era.

    The two spin off products are Opa Opa and an innovative 360 degree shooter Galactic protector.
