bassacegold has posted some WIP News concerning his Zelda game for the DS:

Well, I’ve been putting a little work into the game lately and its getting pretty far through. So far I have only 19 more things to achieve + bug fixes before the Overworld is completed!

    —–Overworld—–

    —weapons—

-Finish off items(sub items too ie. raft)

-fix enemy collision to all items and damage

    -re-write AI handling

-add in all the caves with the old man and their scripts

    —graphics—

    -add in new overworld graphics
    -add in new enemy graphics

-add/fix effects for the 7th level lake revealing
-pause sprite animations when in the inventory
-add new time of day effects to bg layer 2

-add faries to fountains & healing stuff

-add item collision for all burnable bushes/bombable walls/moveable rocks/and those statue things
Its still a lot of coding but its mostly just fixing things at this point for the overworld.

The first Demo will be released (to those who donate) once the overworld part is completed which could take any where from a month or 2 or 3, just depends whats happening though cause school is taking a lot of time. Anyways I thought I’d just leave this update

Welcome to this week's toys update. Check out the wonderful collectibles we just got in stock and all the new products made available for preorder.

As toys, especially collectible ones, are produced in limited numbers and are often sold out prior to the actual release date, we strongly recommend to preorder the figures of your desire as early as possible.

As bargain of the week we have the limited edition action figure of Conan Pre-Painted PVC Figure: Black Wolf (Limited Edition) sold at a discounted price of US$ 2.99 only and the maximum purchase is limited to 3 units per customer. Having said that, we keep it like Conan: No words, just actions.

Cool new products from this week include Super Mario Bros Pre-Painted Statue (Medium): Mario and Fire Mario. What makes these products special is that they are larger than all other Mario statues that we ever had (48 cm tall) and constructed to life-like proportions. It is surprising that they don't suddenly come to life and start bouncing across your table top.

Other products that convert your home into a real life Super Mario game are the Super Mario Bros. Sound Drops Gashapon (Edition 2008). Listen to the familiar sounds from the game with a press of a button. The sounds from the eight gashapons are "Start, "Jump", "Big", "Coin", "1up!", "In", "Swim" and "Ouch". You can now stay in the world of Super Mario Brothers even after you have turned your console off.

Aside from the mascot from Nintendo's most beloved game, a Princess from the Moon has graced us with her presence. Brighter than Dawning Blue 1/8 Scale Pre-Painted PVC Figure: Feena Fam (Swimsuit Version) brought out the regal and charming aspects of the girl in a leisurely moment. The straw hat and the pareo she wears around her waist can be taken off.

A fearsome monster, Dynamic Monster Arts Vol. 2 Monster Hunter Pre-Painted Statue Dragon came in this week as a preorder. Although it is a miniature model of the real beast in the game, the statue is completed to the finest degree with every scale on its skin and cuticle on its claw carved in detail.

The lists below show what has been released this week and what is available for preordering.

Welcome to this week's Games Update, our weekly summary featuring all new product arrivals from the last seven days.

Interesting games that came out this week include the US version of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 for PlayStation2™. The 3D rendered konoha village has a host of ninjas who specialize in all types of skills, from the powerhouses to the sneakier ones. Participate in missions and join battle royales and gain first hand experience in the dangerous and exciting lives of the ninjas.

Another thrilling game about ninjas is released this week, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword differ from Naruto by pitting the Ninjas against dragon gods from the mythical worlds. Learn the skills from these two games and become an expert ninja yourself, at least in the world of gaming.

Feel free to become other action heroes aside from a ninja. Dark Sector for PlayStation3™ and Xbox360™ takes place in a ruined Eastern European city with a dark secret where you need to conquer the people under the control of a deadly virus and the power infested within your body to survive and become a hero.

Shuriken and guns are lethal weapons that a skilled fighter can wield with grace, but you can also create your own customized weapon through alchemy in the classic RPG Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis for PlayStation2™. The story depicts the rites of passage of a youth who grew from a timid youngster to a full fledged alchemist.

Become a hero in the baseball diamond through Pro Yakyuu Spirits 5 for PlayStation2™ and PlayStation3™. Step into the shoes of your favourite baseball players and pitch, or bat against the strong opponents in this realistic game.

After all the blood, sweat and tears, a more peaceful, but just as interesting game, Harvest Moon DS Cute for Nintendo DS™ arrived. I don't know if Sony has ever marketed the PSP quite correctly. A powerful multimedia machine suffering from the same syndrome as the PlayStation 3—should Sony use a 30-second ad to promote the games, movies, Skype capabilities or all of the above? This (new, I think, I don't watch many commercials) spot by TBWA opts to...slap the market silly with features.

I think that it's a fantastic commercial concept, but completely wrong for the PSP. Maybe focusing too much on human-to-human interaction, it would be better suited as a Web 2.0 social customization blah blah etc etc type website or service. But what do you think?

Sure, you've seen the portable wooden SNES, but if you've been looking for something with more of that fresh-off-the-showroom-floor sheen, maybe you should check into this Ben Heck-forum user's design. Using a modified Polycase, dual lithium-ion batteries, a 5-inch Zenith LCD, and a whole bunch of Super Nintendo, the modder created what could easily be mistaken for a bona-fide production model. Sure, the back looks a tad bit messy, but "Life of Brian" (the SNES fan in question) has managed to squeeze in a second controller port and A/V outs -- no small feat.

At AT&T's press feast today, the focus was unquestionably the trial deployment of Microsoft's Surface kiosks to stores later this month -- the presence of Microsoft's own Robbie Bach was testament to that fact. But there was more to the action by the time the show was over. Deployment of 3G and 4G services was a hot topic both during CEO Ralph de la Vega's presentation and in the post-conference Q&A (one member of the press lamented the fact that AT&T's BlackBerrys still lack HSDPA), and at one point he mentioned that all of the carrier's smartphones would be 3G within a matter of mere "months."

We figure that instantly thrusts several devices onto (and off of) AT&T's roadmap in the very near future, including a 3G iPhone and the BlackBerry 9000 we recently saw strutting its stuff. Of course, that would also preclude the just-introduced Palm Centro from hanging around for very long, since it tops out with EDGE speeds; last time we checked Garnet had a hard time handling HSDPA, so something's got to give. We're not writing the obit just yet -- CEOs' statements are often a mere shadow of reality, after all -- but it's certainly food for thought.

The “DevTeam” would like to announce the release of the OS X version of the PwnageTool application.

The team (and especially Wizdaz) have been working hard to bring you this release in as short a time as possible.

The plan (4 weeks ago) was to release a Mac tool only. This was decided because of the lack of reliable Mac filesystem tools on Windows, and the fact that the task of porting them would be too time consuming.

With that in mind the genius that is “cmw” stepped up to the plate and offered his services to the DevTeam. He proposed to provide a tool that would give the same functionality and User Interface as the Mac tool.

cmw has done an almost unthinkable task and ported the almost complete Pwnage Tool to Windows in a little under a week, and we would like to thank him for this unbelievable work. He is currently in the final test stages and hopefully this should be finished within the next 24 hours (but even he needs sleep and family time occasionally!) We'll post a link as soon as the testing has finished.

    cmw's site is at http://www.iphonelinux.org

The Mac tool is available at http://www.iphone-dev.org

Thanks to Sal Iovine for the awesome Steve parody image, this is copyrighted material and is provided to the DevTeam under a Creative Commons Attribution No Derivative Works 3.0 Unported license, you can see more of his work at http://www.saliovine.blogspot.com/

Not even a month after three iPods got all hot and bothered on separate occasions, along comes images showing that even Apple's iPhone isn't immune to melting itself. Purportedly, the handset was purchased from Carphone Warehouse in December, but was never activated for one reason or another. Just this week, the owner's son slapped it in a dock with intentions of activating, walked downstairs to catch the last few minutes of Magnum, P.I. and returned to his room to find a "stupidly hot" iPhone which had already melted in some parts and had its screen cracked from the reaction. Not surprisingly, he's currently in the middle of a runaround trying to get someone to remedy the issue, but thankfully no Earthlings, carpets or IKEA desks were harmed.

Update: Thanks to Logan5's quick eyes, it appears we've discovered a scammer in our midst. Essentially, this bloke posted the real story here noting that the crack (more on that here) actually appeared after it was mishandled and dropped. Haven't we learned this approach doesn't work by now?
