Breathe a sigh of relief. As you can see from the list of games below, publishers are beginning to feel the warmth of spring approaching and are keen to hit stores with stock prior to the frenzy that will be PlayStation 3. Ket game releases listed right here.

It certainly beats last week's release schedule which was about as tempting as a meal in an Indian restaurant while you're sat next to Jade Goody.

Of particular note are two excellent DS releases in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. There's also relief to be had on Xbox 360 with the intriguing Bullet Witch and the solid Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.

Sure, it's not a week that will go down in the annals of videogaming history but if you have a spare £40 (and it was pay day this week) there are definitely a few quality titles to encourage the money out of your purse.

The complete list of games released in the UK this coming Friday (09/03/07):

    Bullet Witch, 360, Atari

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, DS, Konami

CSI 3 Dimension of Murder, PS2, Ubisoft

Garfield's Nightmare, DS, The Game Factory

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, 360, Ubisoft

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, PS2, Rockstar

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, PS2/PSP, EA

Trex6662k5 has released a new remote app that lets your PSP control the Windows Foobar audio player:

    Heres some info

*When the script connects to Foobar2000 and your music magically starts seeking or volume changes
Make sure the analogue stick is dead in the centre. I fear I might have made it too sensitive.

*I intentionally left out the currently playing; play time since I dont use it myself in my Foobar2000 setup.
Next, Previous, Random buttons dont change (even though the images are there I just didnt put them to use)

*If you select another track while you have something queued Foobar2000 will erase that without the script noticing.
So even though it says Queue(5) and you break the queue, you infact have none. To fix this view the queue. I'll also do something on my part too.

*I got corruption on transfering data, I solved this by putting a 7ms pause on the network function. If you get errors on lines 848 or 856 then increase the pause rate in settings.ini

*Default playlist is the default UI playlist. Libary View is usually the ColumnsUI active playlist
    Unless you renamed it.

*At times the script fails to grab the inital data. This might be because I'm pulling the data too fast but I've tried other ways (it currently looks absolutely horrible), if it does this press start till all fields are filled in. Order, volume, playlist and tracklist.

Horse racing games are popular in some countries, but not the US. Because of this, you may want to consider importing Derby Time 2006. In the game you raise and care for a horse and then have it compete against other racers and horses. Derby Time 2006 also supports infrastructure mode to allow you to race against a friend's horse. Last year's Derby Time got a 7/10 from Famitsu, so it sounds like it's a decent title for horse racing fans assuming you know Japanese or are adventurous.

Speaking to Gamasutra, Scott Orr from the new video game publisher, D2C Games, has mentioned an ambitious new project for the PSP: "For us, the PSP offers a platform that users look at as more than just a game machine. At GDC we will officially announce D² Comics, which will offer interactive comics for PSP users. These comics give writers and artists the opportunity to play at being movie directors, panning a scene to create a sense of motion, and letting the user dictate the pacing or let it run on its own."

This isn't the first time the PSP has been home to digital comics: Konami successfully transformed the Metal Gear Solid franchise into a digital graphic novel. This kind of innovation is what D2C plans to bring to PSP owners everywhere: "We plan to initially support the PSP. So far the PSP has had nice ports of PS2 games, but our sense is that publishers are shifting gears and putting limited resources toward next-gen development at the expense of the PSP. We will fill that gap. There is a real opportunity here to bring gamers content to that platform which is different." ...

Disney's next big animated feature's been a long time coming, but we're finally going to see Meet the Robinson hit the theaters later this spring. With big kid's movies come videogames attached to the brand, and Meet the Robinson is no different -- Disney Interactive will be releasing a bunch of games based on the film. We recently had the opportunity to romp around within the Nintendo DS version, which is a completely separate game from the Wii and PS2 versions in development at Avalanche.

The Nintendo DS game's being worked on by Altron, a Japanese studio that's very familiar with the Nintendo handheld platform. The game the team's created for Disney Interactive is a touch-screen focused over-the-shoulder action adventure that puts heavy emphasis on the Will Robinson's arsenal of gadgetry...something that fans of the movie will be quite familiar with.

The game's story is similar to what's been created for the console -- instead of a game that's a by-the-numbers retelling of the film, this game's more of a spin-off that revolves around the movie's characters but tells a new tale. Meet the Robinson starts in the past (as the Robinsons are huge on time travel) where Wilbur screws up the time line somewhere down the line and must fix a future gone completely screwy.

Players control Will using a combination of the D-pad and touch screen. Will's maneuvered via the directional pad, and enemies are targetted with a tap on the touch screen. The camera will lock onto the targetted enemy or object until the target's unlocked or simply destroyed by Will's firepower. Players can fire weapons and activate gadgets either by the system buttons or, better yet, via on-screen buttons so that players don't have to leave the touch screen. Shoulder buttons are used for rotating the camera for when you're not locked onto an object. Obviously with your hand off the system it'll make it difficult to hit the other shoulder button to rotate the camera the other way, which is why the developers added a virtual shoulder button on-screen to do the job. If that's not enough, simply tapping the L button will snap the camera in the direction Wilbur's facing.

The Nintendo DS version actually looks really impressive, offering an incredibly detailed 3D engine running at a fast and smooth 60 frames per second rate on the lower screen. The game is more about action than platforming -- in fact, like in Zelda, players don't have to worry about jumping. Wilbur jumps automatically in context to where he is...whether it's just across a gap in the floor or when he's trying to climb up a ledge.

Outside of the main adventure, players can take part in Charge Ball, a version of a futuristic sport that's a lot like a cross between Breakout and Discs of Tron. This sport can be played against the computer or against another player on a second system. It's not a bad diversion, offering a quick pick-up-and-play competition that's not easy to dominate.
