The Opera browser for Nintendo DS is a version of the Opera browser for logging onto the internet with the WiFi-enabled Nintendo DS. Using the DS card, you can connect to a network via a HotSpot or wireless router, and begin browsing on two screens. With an on-screen keypad and stylus, users can easily navigate the Web from their Nintendo DS with PDA-like functionality. The two screens are used for multifunction purposes — both can show one web page together, or one can show a zoomed-in view of the page, and when typing, the bottom screen shows the text being entered while the top shows the webpage you are on.

critical has released a Genesis/Megadrive emu for the Gizmondo Console, heres whats the info:

    GizDrive 0.1.0
    ---------------

Gizmondo port by critical of PicoDrive, which was written by Dave.
Dave's home for it on the web is: http://www.finalburn.com/mobile/pico.html

    It emulates MegaDrive/Genesis console.

The original documentation file in the doc directory of the zip file that this readme file came in.

This distribution includes the gx.dll distributed by Thierry Tremblay ([email protected]). You must use this gx.dll rather than the one I distributed with my other GizSMS, GizSNES and GizNester releases. It should be backwards-compatible with those emulators too.

    Contact: [email protected]

    Installation
    ------------

Put GizDrive.exe in the root of your SD card, along with the included gx.dll (replacing any existing one).

    Usage
    -----

ROMs must be in a directory called:

    GizDrive

in the root of your SD Card. They must have the extension '.bin'

    Buttons
    -------

The joypad does what you'd expect. The other buttons are:

    PLAY A
    FFWD B
    STOP C
    * Start

During emulation, the home key toggles rom selector on and off, which will also
    pause/resume the emulator.

Whilst in the rom selector is displayed, the STOP key exits back to the Gizmondo system.

Up and Down on the joypad when the rom selector is displayed will change the ROM that
will be played with the PLAY button is pressed.

This release doesn't have sound, screen scaling, or any of the other niceties that you'd hope for.

    News from the Rockin- B

New Saturn homebrew game in the making
Some weeks ago, Arnold and me started working on a brandnew graphic adventure for SEGA Saturn. We had teamed up for Tic Tac Toe, before. Arnold has got quite cool skills in creating 3D render images, composing music and writing game scripts. So I was easily convinced to contribute by writing the engine sourcecode, as I previously planned to do such a game sometime, myself.

It is gonna be inspired by Snatcher, Shadowrun and the like. I can tell you that the render images already look better than those of D and Mystery Mansion do on SEGA Saturn.

I will try to use some special effects the Saturn has to offer, one of which is extreme high resolution of 704x512 pixel, that you might haven't seen in any Saturn game, before. I even managed to display sprites in this high resolution, although the specs mentioned in the vdp1 manual are below this. The game will be multi language, currently it's developed in german and will be translated into english (and maybe others), after completion.

Things that I'd like add are:

    multiple sounds streamed from CD

    CD prefetching

    video playback

We thought about using the MPEG cart for movie playback, but ran into problems in creating MPEG cart compatible CDs.

    SNES emu screenshots and compatibility
VBT made some nice screenshots of commercial ROMs running on snes9x for SEGA Saturn. As I experienced myself, he reported that the fast asm cpu core works with a lot of ROMs and features a better compatibility than expected.

Of the few games I tested, those are working with the asm cpu core:

Actraiser 2, Blackthorne, Bomberman 1, Sonic, California Games 2, Captain Commando, Where in time is Carmen Sandiego, Castlevania 4, Chess Master, Clayfighter, Contra 3, Demon Crest, Desert Strike, Final Fantasy 2, Final Fantasy 5, F-Zero, F-Zero 2, Gradius 3, Illusion of Time, Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Mega Man x2, Mystic Quest, Another World, Rock 'n Roll Racing, Sim City, International Superstar Soccer Deluxe, Super Star Wars, Super Turrican, Super Turrican 2, Pro Tennis Tour, Terminator 2, Top Gear 1, Wing Commander, Zelda

    SGL replacement website updated
I added the latest new functions to the list on the SGL replacement website:

    slSlaveFunc, slScrWindow0, slScrWindow1, slScrLineWindow0, slScrLineWindow1, slScrWindowMode, slSetTVMode, slSetScrTVMode, slRequestCommand

Besides smaller updates here and there, most interesting for devvers is a commented list of supported compile flags, that I've added, too.

Following the Sony media briefing, we were so thoroughly underwhelmed by the company's PSP projections that we completely forgot about the tiny PSP-formatted media kit (32 MB Memory Stick) that was handed to us at the beginning of the event -- and promptly shoved deep into our pocket. Until now. The content includes:

    Trailers

Gangs of London (2:16) - Comic book stylized intro followed by GTA clone in-game footage; promises: bonus strategy game; pub mini-games (darts, pool, etc.); and "gameshare levels" that are different on every PSP.
God of War II (PS2) (2:08) - Tons of in-game footage. Like the first GOW, only more brutal. "The End Begins... February 2007"

SOCOM: Combined Assault (PS2) (0:30) -Same old SOCOM.
SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 (0:30) - See entry above.

    God of War 2 (4)
    Killzone Liberation (5)
    LocoRoco (4)
    Ratchet and Clank (3)
    Wallpaper

    ATV Offroad Fury Pro (5)
    Gangs of London (2)
    Lemmings (1)

Nintendo's pre-E3 conference Wii line-up was just big-name game after big-name game, with Zelda, Mario and Metroid Prime all putting in an appearance.

We've managed to capture the first footage of these famous franchises in motion - and plenty of new names, too - in these two high quality movies. And you can see them all simply by right-clicking each of the links above and downloading the movies.

The first clip focuses more on happy, smiling, ethnically diverse souls demonstrating how easy it is to play with the Wii-mote, while the second slice of footage concentrates more on the official products and third-party releases already set to appear on Wii. And with 27 of these games playable on the E3 show floor, remember to stay tuned for our hands-on impressions, which should be along very shortly.

Microsoft has a new racing wheel, headset, and video camera accessories in the works for Xbox 360 racing fans that have a penchant for online chat, Xbox boss Peter Moore said today at the Microsoft press briefing.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Racing wheel extends the console's wireless controller tradition to steering wheels and offers force feedback technology to let the road fight back and add realism to racing games such as the upcoming Forza Motorsport 2. Microsoft also announced the Xbox 360 Wireless Headset, a wireless headphone and microphone set that matches the styling of the Xbox 360 console.

Microsoft plans on releasing an Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver that will allow both new wireless accessories to work on Windows PCs as well as current and future wireless accessories including the wireless Xbox 360 controller.

GameSpot asked Microsoft representatives if the PC receiver accessory will allow the headset to function as a voice over IP communication device with common VOIP applications such as Skype, but Microsoft would only confirm that the headset would be compatible with Windows. However, there's still hope for VOIP users since representatives did not state that the headset would work only with Xbox Live.

The Xbox 360 video camera which first appeared in prototype form at early Xbox 360 press events will finally make its entrance later this year. The Xbox Live Vision camera will enable photo messaging and video chat for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Subscribers will also be able to use the camera to create personalized gamer pictures. The USB camera will have a built-in microphone and will also be PC Windows compatible.

Microsoft has not announced pricing and has only revealed the release date for the camera, which will ship in North America and Europe on September 19. All other accessories will be ready in time for the "holiday" season. ...
