    Hey guys!

Here is my neoflash retro coding compo 2010 entry
If you like it please vote for it

    Link : Neoflash

Edit : For anyone who has already downloaded the game.... Please download the game again. Various things have been fixed/improved.
Changelog : Re-wrote tile animation function (FPS never drops below 60fps now, Fixed enemy's appearing below the ground bug)

    Project Description

Can you guide mario though this epic journey to save princess peach? Or will bowser forever haunt your dreams?

Mario Fusion is a tribute to the Mario franchise that we all know and love. The game features most of the features you would expect to see in a mario game, with breakable blocks, animated tiles, mushrooms, coins, goombas, flowers & shells. The game features 5 Levels including a showdown with your evil nemesis bowser!

The game is fun & challenging and I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did creating it.

Please read the credits screen in game for a full list of people who helped me make this game possible.

Game is programmed in C using the GU. It is also multiplatform, currently supported platforms are : PSP, Windows, Mac OSX & Linux.

    Issues

If you download the version with music enabled you may experience freezes at random places. It might happen at the menu or it could happen after 3 game overs. It is a bug with AALIB that I didn't have the time or know how to fix. If this behavior irritates you, please download the version with no music. Both versions include sound effects.

Occasionally some enemies may be spawned under tiles, it's really random, it sometimes never happens but occasionally does. Again due to time contraints I was unable to pinpoint the issue.

My apologies for the above bugs.

    Controls

    DPad Right = Move Right
    DPad Left = Move Left
    Cross = Jump
    Square = Run

EDIT : If you downloaded the file before this edit, please redownload again.
Bug is fixed where mario would continue moving to the right after crossing the flagpole.

    Hey guys!

About : Battery Warning plugin is a PSP plugin that shows a message on screen when your battery reaches 15% or less charge. Works in VSH/GAME + Homebrew Games & Apps.

Why bother when the PSP LED blinks when the battery is low? Well lets face it, who can honestly say when they are stuck into a game that they even notice the LED blinking at all, also added to that, the fact that when your playing a game your thumb practically covers the whole light, it's not an ideal method of warning

I lost the source to V0.2 because my external HDD died so I had to start the project from scratch.

    Screenshot :

So here are the changes :

    Changelog :

    * Added ability to turn the message off. Press L+R+Select to disable the message once shown.
    * Changed message to display remaining battery percentage and time remaining (in mins)
    * Message now doesn't get hidden behind objects.
    * Message now clearer to read (again).
    * Reduced flickering substantially (still flickers in certain games)

    Future :

In the next release there will finally be the configuration manager. I have started it and it wont be long until it's finished. However been that in essence this is more of a new plugin than a updated version (since I had to start from scratch) I want to be certain people enjoy the same level of success with it as I do before bothering to release a customization manager.

    Thanks and enjoy!

EDIT : New version attached. V0.3.1

    Changes :

    * Message upon battery reaching full charge (Whilst charging) - (See screenshot)
Removing the power cable or pressing L+R+Select will disable the message.

    Hey guys!

About : Battery Warning plugin is a PSP plugin that pops up a message on screen when your battery reaches 15% or less charge. Works in VSH/GAME + Homebrew Games & Apps.

So I finally got chance to do some programming again. I would firstly like to apologise to all custom theme users for not checking compatibility with CXMB before releasing the first version. I'm not one for releasing crapware so I am sorry. I have since installed CXMB and a custom theme and ensured that it does work with a custom theme.

Tested on 5.50Gen D3-Final using CXMB with the Playstation experience theme.

    Screenshot :

So here are the changes :

    Changelog :

    * Fixed warning message appearing as white box on PSP's using a custom theme.
    * CXMB Compatibility
    * Message now clearer to read.
    * Reduced memory usage to 256kb (as opposed to 1mb)
    * Fixed warning message getting hidden by textures on certain games. (still happens on some loading screens)
    * Reduced flickering (Somewhat, still flickers in certain games)

    Future :

In the next release there will be a lot more features. I will keep quiet on them for now but they are coming
The next release will also come packaged with a "Battery Warning Customisation Manager" tool for the PSP. Basically it will allow you to change every setting
on the plugin and customise it right down to your exact needs.

The only reason I am not releasing the tool with this version is that I want to be 100% sure the "White box" bug is gone for everyone and not just me

    Thanks and enjoy!

    Hi

So I finally got motivated to do some coding. Since I have not coded anything now (in what.... 1>2 months?) , I decided to do a small project (that presumably has been done already), to get me back into the swing of things.

So I present to you : Battery Warning Plugin V0.1. My first ever plugin in fact.

    Features :

    * Works in VSH & GAME.
    * Displays on screen scrolling message when battery charge level is 10% or less.
    * Message is small and unobtrusive.
    Screenshot :

    GAME

(Quality varies by game, text is sometimes semi-hidden...Will be fixed in next version)

    GTA : Liberty City Stories

    Assassins Creed : Bloodlines

    XMB

    Future :

Even though this was just a fun little project to get me back into coding, I am open to continuing development of this plugin if people are interested. I am interested to hear suggestions or new features that could be added to this plugin, although I am sure something far superior to this already exists

    Side Note :

I am also continuing development on LuaPlayer Euphoria and Snex9X as of now. Development wont be as fast as it was in the past due to some changes in my personal/social life, but there are now in active development now, as opposed to hibernation

    Enjoy. ...

    Hola!

It has been a long time since the last LuaPlayer Euphoria release. In my absence a user named Walar has committed the following changes :

    New Features / Changes :

    [+] Added Zip file System.
[+] Wrote a new IntraFont system.
[+] Wrote a new Sony osk system.
[+] Wrote a new Sony Message Dialog system.
[+] Added Zip lua samples[*] Updated intrafont, osk and Dialog lua samples[*] Blit image to image fixed. (Note you need to un-swizzle your images prior to blitting or it won't work.

He doesn't have time to commit to the project full time, however, I am going to be devoting a lot more time to the project within the next few weeks (after the Christmas period) so don't worry I will be back to normal service soon and have the following planned :

    * Wifi support with Sony interface : AlphaDingDong is working on this and should be done soon.
    * Sony SaveData support : With interface.
    * Xm, sm, mod etc support re-added : But keeping the same usage as the Wav, Ogg, MP3 and At3 functions for ease of use.
    * VLF library support.
    * + Plenty more

Functions, Features & Guides List :

A new wiki has been set up to make accessing LuaPlayer Euphoria's documentation a lot easier. The wiki is located here : http://lpe.retroemu.com
Note : It is currently a work in progress. All guides, functions and features will be posted there in time.

There are new samples in the download to demonstrate usage of all the new functions and the improved ones also.
See new_functions2.txt for a full list of all the new/changed functions (located in the download).

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the release!

As usual please post all bug reports or feature requests here : RetroEmu.com

    Download @ : Google Code

Note : There are now two downloads. FULL is the version to get if you have never downloaded LuaPlayer Euphoria before or want to get the new samples...
Update is the version to get if you already have LuaPlayer Euphoria and just want the latest binary files.

Source code for this version currently is not committed to google code. It has been a while since I last did a commit and just cannot seem to get it to work without it erroring out on me. Will be uploaded as soon as I work out why it won't allow me to commit. ...

So, as you may have noticed, I have been a bit of a ghost around here lately.
This was to do with stuff at work, however there is more....

Christmas is our busiest time of year, and we are already seeing an increased volume of customers... So this means less time at home and more time at work. To go along with that, less time at home = more tiredness, more tiredness = less enthusiasm. So getting into any big projects this month (that means pretty much all of them with the exception maybe of LuaPlayer) simply isn't going to happen.

I also feel like taking a step back from the PSP scene for a while and focusing more on learning some programming aspects that I have been avoiding up until now due to my current projects. My health still isn't great so I am going to have to cut some things out of my life to relieve some of the stress and this unfortunately will be some of my big projects.

I'm going to pretty much just come out and say it, Snes9x Euphoria probably wont be seeing another release, and if it does it is going to be a long way off (I am talking months not weeks). Daedalus is something I may contribute to on occasion (like I did), LuaPlayer Euphoria however will see periodic updates from time to time, since it can be worked on, with a feature by feature basis.

Aside from these I have a few projects that I am or will be working on myself (a game and a few applications for Windows and PSP + Maybe more), and a lot that I want to learn. I really do not feel I possess the skill to make huge strides with Snes emulation at the present time so just use those Italian guys version if you want. I'm not going to sit here and lie and say that it will be all perfect in a while, it will but it's going to take more time and experience than I possess at the present time.

So ya, I will still be around, posting and viewing. Just not contributing as much as I previously have.

Note : I am not leaving the PSP Scene or anything like that, just taking a little break

Thanks for all your support! ...

Hey everyone. I would first of all like to say thank you for all the positive response towards my work and for all the bug reports.

For the record, I know I have been stated as saying use frameskip 3 to get good speed, but even without it it is faster than the previous snes emulator releases. I re-wrote parts of the renderer, I didn't just hike up frameskip and claim mine was faster. This might not be the case for every game and might not be by much, but it is faster.

Also I'm not doing this for a popularity stunt, or just to claim "mines better than yours". I am doing this because I love the Snes and want to see it emulated at proper speed on the PSP and was sad to see it abandoned. I do not claim to be the worlds greatest coder, or emulation guru. Like everyone else I am learning on a daily basis. Programming is a hobby for me, I don't do it for a living. I know there is a lot more work to be done, so please bear with me.

This build isn't really any faster than the previous one, it's mainly a stability release. I will be back to speed improvements in the next release.

    Changes :

[+] Bug where you couldn't have more than 200 roms in the ROMS folder or the emulator would crash is now fixed. (I tested with 800 roms in there)

[+] Bug where the emulator would freeze then hard-power-off your PSP after trying to load more than 3 roms is now fixed. (I tried loading rom after rom at least 12 times with no issues)

[+] Bug where you couldn't return to the menu after running a game is now fixed. (thank god lol)

[+] Bug where emulator would hard-power-off PSP when exiting rather than return to the Xmb is now fixed (both in file menu and main menu)

[+] Bug where the emulator wouldn't start on Gen firmware fixed (tested by myself on 5.50GenC and Cmbeke on 5.50GenB)

[+] Possible minor speedups from code cleanup.

[+] Removed the intro screen for now. (will be configurable in the next build)

[+] Added the latest version of the snesadvance.dat file (Adds more speedhacks)
So that's it. It finally seems stable, I know this emulator has a bad rep for being terribly unstable but it really seems solid now.

I hope you enjoy this release and if you have any bugs please post them in the : Snes9X Euphoria - Official Forum

Note : To get the best performance I recommend the following settings :

    Render : PSP Accelerated
Frameskip : 3 (frameskip @ 1 seems to be sufficient for most games to play at 60fps)

Note : The PSP Accelerated renderer can be buggy, it works fine in most games but certain games may have graphical errors which render them unplayable. If this happens I recommend switching to the PSP Accelerated + Aprox soft renderer.

    Thanks!

If you downloaded the R2 release, please download the new R2.1 release as it fixes a bug with loading a new rom (it would crash the psp) - Same link

So I have been working on this for a bit tonight (I am really sick atm )

However I did feel well enough to at least get out of bed for a few hours and wrap up Snes9X Euphoria for a release.
It is based off the last version of Snes9xTyl by rukka.

My main objective for this version was speed. A lot more can still be done to optimize the emulator and get more speed, but for now (given my health) this will have to do

The only game I have tested with my version is Kirby Super Star, which I know had terrible FPS with other Snes9X releases (usually < 30Fps)

With my build, using the following settings, Kirby Super Star runs @ a minimum of 44Fps and a max of 60fps with the usual fps being 50fps.

    Settings :

    Renderer : PSP Accelerated
    FrameSkip : 3

This does not generate a jerky experience, it finally feels playable

    Other testing :

Donkey Kong Country : Same settings as above :
    Min FPS : 58
    Max FPS : 60

The speedups should be global, every game should be a lot faster now

    Future :

I plan on improving speed more, improving stability and applying the changes from Snes9X1.51 to Snes9X euphoria also (which is running off the 1.42 code base)

I hope you enjoy this release and if you have any bugs please post them in the : Snes9X Euphoria - Official Forum

There seems to be some graphical bugs in the menus in Kirby Super Star (and maybe other games), these will be fixed in later revisions.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the release

    Hello everyone.

So I've finally finished the long delayed update to LuaPlayer Euphoria V7.
There are huge improvements across the board, and a host of new features.

Here is the change log :

    [+] Ported project from C++ to C.
[+] Implemented AAlib sound engine (Mp3, At3 & Ogg Playback On Media Engine + Wav support) and wrote a new sound core. (note usage has changed, please see the samples included in the download for new usage)
[+] Added Swizzle & UnSwizzle functions (note : Images are Swizzled by default)
[+] Added move Image to Vram function.
[+] Added optional Alpha parameter to screen:blit(). (ie screen:blit(x, y, image, alpha) - Makes for easy image fading in/out
    [+] Added VFPU math library.
[+] Added Sony Message Dialog System.
[+] Added Sony OSK System.[*] Reworked IntraFont support.
[+] Added option to free/delete Images from memory.[*] Huge code cleanup.[*] Vairous fixes that I cannot remember .
    [+] Source code now available.
    Info :

So obviously there has been huge improvements to LuaPlayer Euphoria and it is now shaping up to be a much more stable feature packed LuaPlayer. The VFPU math library should be used as a replacement for most of the math functions (as it's way way way faster). ie : instead of math.floor() use Vfpu.floor().

    Source :

The source code is now available to developers also @ Google Code.

    Looking for developers :

I am also looking for any interested developers to help me with this project, as it's becoming a bit much for me, and progress is too slow with just one developer. If your interested send me a pm or post in the release thread @ RetroEmu.com.

As usual if you get stuck, find a bug, want some tutorials etc, head on over to the Official Forum.

    Future plans :

    • Add VLF library
    • Fix the damn wifi (which i cannot seem to do)
    • Add adhoc support
    • Add Tilemap support with collision, and multiplatform map editor
    • Add more 3d stuff
    • Add Chipmunk physics library
    • ?

For a full list of all the functions (new and old) added by LuaPlayer Euphoria, please see the "Functions List.txt" file included in the download. (An online documentation system with samples is being worked on.

To see samples of all of the functions (new and old), please look in the samples directory, included in the download.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy this release!
