    PSP 4800mAh Emergency Charger
    Manufacturer: PEGA
    Site : Buy from Brando
    Price: $22.00

Overview : This Emergency Charger contains a 4800mah lithium battery. It connects with your PSP console externally and providing more than double battery life.

    Features :
    • Store energy in the lithium battery with the PSP AC adaptor and then supply the power to the PSP game console at any time
    • ON/OFF switch
    • LED indicator
    • 4800mAh lithium battery
    • Size : 75.3 x 80.2 x 17.8 mm
    • Weight : 117gm

Quality/Usability : You would charge this like you would with your PSP. You can plug your PSP AC adapter to charge the battery pack or use one of those USB power cables. On average, it takes about 1-2 hours to charge the battery pack completely. When charging, the LED will be red. When its done charging, the LED will be green.

Just like my review for the Large Capacity External Battery Pack w/Cliphook, this battery pack features and ON/OFF switch. When in use, slide the switch to ON to power the PSP. When not in use, slide the switch to OFF to conserve battery power.

For maximum portability, this comes with a plastic belt pouch that clips onto your belt.

Conclusion : This is probably the largest capacity battery pack I have reviewed. This is 4800mAh of power! Although it is a little big in size, it does come with a plastic belt pouch to clip onto your belt to carry around. If this plastic belt pouch is like the ones used for cellphones, these wouldnt last too long on a normal daily use.

    Thunder Power Pack (3600mAh)
    Manufacturer: DragonPlus
    Site : Buy from Brando
    Price: $15.00

Overview : This power pack contains a 3600mAh lithium-ion battery, compatible with PSP, NDS and GBA SP, long standby hours and extend your play time.

    Features :
    • Extra power source suitable for PSP, NDS and GBA SP
    • 168 hours stand by battery capacity
    • Heavy duty 3600mAh lithium-ion battery
    • LED indicator
    • Quick charge and supply power over 8 hours with PSP console
    • Quick charge and supply power over 16 hours with NDS console
    • Quick charge and supply power over 24 hours with GBA SP console
    • Battery size : 73.0 x 57.2 x 24.1 mm

Quality/Usability : You would charge this like you would with your PSP. You can plug your PSP AC adapter to charge the battery pack or use one of those USB power cables. On average, it takes about 1-2 hours to charge the battery pack completely. Once its done charging, just take one end of the cable (included) and plug it into the battery pack and the other end of the cable into the DC port of the PSP. You should get an additional 8 hours of play time on the PSP.

You can also use this battery pack to power your GBA SP or NDS as the cable that is included has a Nintendo plug.

When charging, the LED will flash. When its done charging, the LED will stay lit. But if you're charging and using it at the same time, the LED will turn off.

Another good feature is that the battery has 168 hours of stand by. So when its not in use, it will store the energy.

Conclusion : This is just like any other battery pack. Nothing special and does its job. Just charge the pack and use when you need it. If its low on battery, just charge and reuse. Simple right? Whats great about this is that it gives an extra 8 hours to your PSP and also includes a plug for your GBA SP/NDS..thats if you own one.

    Capdase Luxury Hard Case
    Manufacturer: Capdase
Site: Buy from Capdase (Black) / Buy from Capdase (Silver)
    Price: $25.55

Overview : Hard case to protect your PSP. Holds two Memory Stick Pro Duo's on the cover flap. Includes a leather wrist strap. Available in Black and Silver.

    Features :
    • Anodized aluminum case
    • Soft touch rubberized back holder
    • Ultra lightweight
    • 360 degree free angle cover
    • Direct replace UMD
    • Setup stand for playing movie
    • Provide the memory card slot * 2
    • Approx 85g

Quality/Usability : Another case released by Capdase. Unlike the previous Capdase cases I reviewed, this is aimed more at protection wise and is user friendly. This case is similar to the Logitech PlayGear Pocket case. Besides the difference in looks wise, the Luxury Hard Case is smaller and lighter compared to the PlayGear Pocket, not to mention it has a "door" that opens to access the UMD drive as well as two slots to store your memory sticks.

Whats great about this case is that the lid can actually flip open completely so that its not at a 90 degree angle or half folded down. This can somewhat be used as a grip. The case also can be used as a stand to watch your PSP movies.

The bottom/back of the case has a rubberish feel to it but at the same time, having a hardness to it. This prevents the PSP from moving around. The Hard Case also has two little pegs that go into the holes on top of the PSP to provide an even more sturdiness. The memory stick, POWER button, USB port and UMD button are all easily accessible when in the case..even with the lid closed.

The memory stick slot themselves are a little sturdy when you place the memory stick in them. They fit well, but if the sticks arent fully in the slot, they can easily fall out with a little tap. Especially when you have the lid folded all the way.

The case comes with a black leather wrist strap.

Conclusion : Although the case looks nice and smells like brand new sneakers..there are some flaws. When the PSP is placed into the case and closed, I had a hard time trying to get the cover open. The memory stick slots was another flaw as mentioned above. But there was also the good such as the UMD door that flips down to allow the UMD tray to open as well as easy access to the memory stick port and all other buttons without having to take out the PSP. Its a bit pricey for this case compared to the Logitech PlayGear Pocket which retails for $19.99.

Intec Recharging Dock w/USB Charge Cable
    Manufacturer: Intec
    Site: Buy from Intec
    Price: $9.99

Overview : Display and charge your PSP with Intec’s Recharging Dock Station! Place your PSP in the cradle and maximize your gaming time by charging your PSP and your extra battery simultaneously. This charging station keeps your handheld system secure on your desk or night table. This cradle is also perfect for desktop gaming, allowing you to sit the unit on your desk while you play or watch movies! Designed & styled for the PSP handheld.

Cradle charges your PSP and has en extra compartment to charge an additional PSP battery!

    Features :
    • Charges battery and PSP when not in use
    • Transfer data from PC to PSP using USB cable (included)
    • Charge PSP and battery without the use of the dock
    • Blue LED light indicates charging
    • 3 inch x 1 1/2 inch (W x D)

Quality/Usability : The recharging dock is molded specifically to hold the PSP along the bottom of the device. The recharging dock measures approximately three-inches wide and one and a half inch deep. The base of the Recharging Dock also has four rubber grip pads to prevent the dock from sliding. There is a support bracket on the back of the dock holds the PSP up. The clear plastic centerpiece also illuminates to blue when the Recharging Dock is being powered and charged.

The recharging dock recharges the battery in your PSP when the system is not in use. You can also power the PSP when you have it placed on to the dock. The power port is located on the back of the dock.

While the PSP is charging on the dock, you can also transfer data from your PC to the PSP without worrying about the PSP dying on you. This is great considering one cable does both the transfering of data and charging the PSP.

Conclusion : The dock does a great job of displaying movies, is that what its suppose to do? HEHE. It would of been nice if it gave us the ability to adjust the angle. The dock itself is not portable-friendly due to the size, so you'll need a backpack or something to carry it. The most useful thing is that the cable has a mini-B USB cable as well as a recharging cable at the end. Without the dock, you can still transfer data and charge the PSP if you are near a computer or if you have a laptop with you. For the price alone, its worth it just for the cable. To me, the dock is an added bonus.

Next month, Nintendo is showing off the Nintendo 3DS to the general public in Japan for the first time. It could possibly make you sick. Oh, and don't plan on bringing young kids for 3D fun.

Nintendo has a couple warnings regarding the Nintendo 3DS. These are general safety warnings for 3D, but here, Nintendo 3DS specific. The warnings echo sentiment expressed by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime to Kotaku during E3 earlier this year.

Up until now, Nintendo recommended a break after an hour of play. But that was 2D, and as Nintendo notes, 3D causes quicker eye fatigue and some 3D software causes eyes to become more tired faster than other software.

But in the case in which players are able to enjoy 3DS games problem free, Nintendo recommends taking a break after 30 minutes of play.

"If your physical condition worsens or you become ill, please stop playing at once," states Nintendo.

The company notes that 3D has different effects on different people. The inclusion of the 3D slider, which allows players to tweak the 3D effect helps ensure that a wider range of players can enjoy the 3DS.

However, children under six years old will be included in that range. Nintendo points out that the vision of young children is still in developmental stages, which is why it recommended that they do not use the 3DS's 3D effects as well as watch 3D movies and 3D television.

Viewing 3D at a young age could have effects later in life.

According to Nintendo, "Since the Nintendo 3DS can be changed to 2D to avoid any effects on young children's vision, it is possible for anyone to enjoy playing it." But not of course 3D.

Nintendo is going as far as to include 3D parental controls for the Nintendo 3DS.

The French site PS3Gen.fr has released a video of the emulator Nintendo DS, developed by Anonymous, the new name of the emulator is NDS3. Here is a summary of the news :

There are some days that the site PS3Gen.fr has announced in exclusivity the new creation of Anonymous, which is a porting of an emulator Nintendo DS. Its name is now NDS3, this emulator has improved, so we decided to make a video of the latest draft to show you the progression.

Since the last version, Anonymous had restart porting of the emulator DeSmuME to adapt with the PowerPC architecture of the PlayStation 3. Now, the console is capable of using the CPU successfully to comfortably play 3D games, they were accelerated by 7 times compared to the first version. However, the emulator is still under development and 3D games are not yet optimized to their fullest. We present two games in this video, Yoshi’s Island DS and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. To make the most of the gameplay offered by the emulator, we cut the cutscenes.

As you see, the 2D games are very fluid and require almost no more work, Anonymous will now concentrate on the most advanced games to optimize the architecture of the PlayStation 3. The video is available below, we will give you more information, always exclusive, as soon as development progresses.

This morning was the big unveil at the Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin, and it did not disappoint. Here is a brief synopsis for those that missed it.

The first few minutes of the conference were spent explaining the state of security on other consoles (Wii, 360, etc). Following this, the group went on to explain the current state of affairs on the PS3. First, explaining Geohot's memory line glitching exploit from earlier this year. The team then went on to explain the current PS3 security bypasses, such as jailbreaking and service mode/downgrading.

Approximately a half hour in, the team revealed their new PS3 secrets, the moment we all were waiting for. One of the major highlights here was, dongle-less jailbreaking by overflowing the bootup NOR flash, giving complete control over the system. The other major feat, was calculating the public private keys (due to botched security), giving users the ability to sign their own SELFs Following this, the team declared Sony's security to be EPIC FAIL!

The recent advent of these new exploits means current firmware is vulnerable, v3.55 and possibly beyond. It will be very difficult for Sony to fix the described exploits.

The team then displayed the website http://fail0verflow.com/ were we assume will host examples of the new exploits and further details. They stated that easy to use tools would be coming next month.

    Update via http://twitter.com/fail0verflow

    # fail0verflow is the name of our 'group'. We are a bunch of curious hackers who have been working on a bunch of things over the last 3 years.
    # our goal is to have linux running on all existing PS3 consoles, whatever their firmware versions.
    # Our current PS3 goal: AsbestOS.pup
    # For all those out there that think fail0verflow.com has been hacked - it hasn't. We're just busy working on a demo for tomorrow. Patience!

We have uploaded the full video for those who missed it.

Live Demo will be available tomorrow during the CCC's Lighting Talks and possible tools for developers to be released within a month.

    **UPDATE 12/30/10**
The Lightning Talk is done and over with and the video is up for those who missed it. Thanks to PSGroove for uploading the video:

Team fail0verflow also released their presentation slides and we have attached it below.

Thrustmaster Announces the T500 RS for PlayStation®3 Officially Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment and Gran Turismo®5

Get ready to go far...very far...

Preview at CES Las Vegas 2011 North Hall, Grand Lobby, Lower Level Thrustmaster Booth # 5015 & 5018

New York, NY - (December 23, 2010) - Thrustmaster, the innovative PC and console accessory brand, is pleased to unveil today the T500 RS wheel and pedal set specially designed for Gran Turismo 5: a racing assembly that lets gamers live the most realistic, powerful driving experience, with no compromises.

The T500 RS is a real driving simulator, combining power and precision. Thrustmaster has drawn from more than 20 years of expertise in racing wheels, with a single goal: to develop a wheel and pedal set that allows users to go as far as possible in the GT5 experience. The designers have taken into account the expectations of the most demanding gamers, while also adhering to the technical choices of the developers of this new opus in the benchmark car racing series.
The T500 RS's dual official GT5 and PlayStation® licenses are the result of this unique positioning, as Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital and Senior Vice President of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., explains: "The goal that I set for the Thrustmaster team was to design for me the most precise wheel ever developed, without any latency – to accurately reproduce the sensations of GT5, and let users truly feel the emotions experienced by drivers on real racing circuits."
An Infinite Number of Driving Styles

Size and Dimensions: Completely optimized for GT5, the T500 RS meets the demand for absolute realism. The first thing users will notice when setting it up is its weight: 4.6kg for the wheel, and 7.3kg for the pedal set. Another instantly visible feature is the omnipresent use of metal – for the gearshift levers, the wheel's central spokes section (30cm in diameter) and the pedal set. This has required a mechanical design with no compromises.

Wheel and Gear levers: Ergonomics was at the heart of the wheel's development, with an eye on optimizing game play, performance and driving sensations. The sequential gearlevers mounted on the base feature large 17cm levers that are constantly accessible without letting go of the wheel. The wheel itself offers a remarkable 1080° rotation. These 3 full turns are also adjustable, thanks to a motorized stop, allowing the gamer choose the maximum degree of rotation according to the type of racing circuit and the car being driven.

Metal Pedal Set: The spacing and height of the 100% metal pedal set is also fully adjustable and accommodate individual driving preferences by offering 2 positions: "floor-mounted" F1 style, or "suspended" GT style. The brake pedal has been given extra attention, with reinforced and adjustable resistance that lets users perfectly tailor their braking with near surgical precision, and which includes a removable mod. A textured foot rest, also crafted entirely of metal, completes the pedal set. Gamers will notice that having 3 pedals at their disposal not only enhances the level of realism, but it also gives them a taste of what's to come with the addition of an independent gear stick, which will also be available from Thrustmaster in the coming months.

More Power and Precision to Push the Limits of Racing

Force Feedback Racing Simulator: The T500 RS is a true racing simulator designed for the most die-hard racing fans: its power is unmatched, with Force Feedback effects relayed via a 65W industrial motor, providing 150mNm at 3000 RPM. The Force Feedback mechanism is vigorous, fast-acting and extremely responsive. While the power is potent, the integrated large dual-belt system ensures backlash-free and smooth behavior.

Totally Precise Wheel: Fans of even the most intense racing experience know that power alone does not allow them to achieve the best performance. With this in mind, the T500 RS provides total precision which never decreases over time. The T500 RS employs the same technology developed for the world's latest benchmark flight stick, the HOTAS WARTHOG™. The magnetic sensor-based H.E.A.R.T HallEffect AccuRate Technology™ is incorporated into the wheel's steering mechanism. As a result the wheel is super-precise with 16-bit resolution and 65536 values on its steering axis.
With this wheel and pedal set, users will go farther than ever before in the thrill of the ultimate GT5 experience. Get ready for an extraordinary ride...

The T500 RS will be available late December / mid January, depending on the territory, at a suggested retail price of $599.99.
