    Time Baby V4b 08/07/07 Australia.

    Hi Guys,
Here is a talking alarm clock for the PSP. V4 is a bunch of fixes,
and a new impementation of Adrahil's PSP Alarm library.
Q: So what's the big deal?

A: The implementation of Adrahil's alarm library means that you can set the alarm,
put the PSP unit in standby for the night, and have it auto wake up back into the
    application to sound the alarm.
As an added bonus, it also allows you to set a wake up time for the PSP unit,
turn it all the way off, and have it wake up and auto boot your predefined homebrew.
    V4b (08/07/07):
    - Alarm is auto activated if the START button is used to suspend the PSP unit.
    - Additional sub display mode allows the user to adjust the colour of all graphic digits as desired.
    - Added feature to save colour and alarm time settings to configuration file.

    V4 (07/07/07):
    - Implemented adrahil's Alarm Library to handle alarm where the PSP is either suspended, or in standby.
    - Implemented a moon phase calculator with graphic moon display accurate to one segment.
    - Removed Mikmod Sound Library, and implemented 6AM Sample Player to achieve CD quality sound.
    - Implemented a time announcement mode where the time is announced every minute.
    - Speech routine is no longer timer based. Samples are played end to end for fluid sounding speech.
    - Underclocked PSP unit to 135/111/1 for battery conservation while used with the power on.
    - Removed lap counter (bean counter) feature that was present from version 2.
    - Images are now present in the executeable, and are loaded from memory at program startup.
    - Various other graphics fixes and improvements including calender display.
    Known Bugs: None! Ha!

    Hi Guys,
I just dropped in to share news of a little project of mine
This is not a release, but rather a demo/news, or whatever, as I believe it
is a world first of a barcode scanner application for the PSP with YouTube videos to proove it

Direct YouTube links in case the embedded videos don't work:

The video was required so you could hear the voice speaking!

Due for X-Flash V16g COMING SOON:
    - Support for firmware versions 2.71 SE-A, and possibly 2.71 SE-B2.
    - Support for firmware version 2.71 SE-C if it has arrived.
    - Detection of 1.50 registry files being used with 2.71 SE
installations with the option to write a new 2.71 registry.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Donations screen where the nicknames of donators will appear.
    - Plain Black PSP About screens.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)

    X-Flash V16f (Dual Firmware Support)
The same program runs on 1.50 and 2.71 SE, and behaves accordingly
after the PSP firmware version is auto detected at startup.

    New for X-Flash V16f:
    - Fixed biult in Plain Black Backgrounds. (firmware version 2.71 SE)

    New for X-Flash V16e:
    - Fixed 2.71 SE file inflation bug. Several rco files, once modified,
were being written back appended with zeros to match the larger
size of their 1.50 firmware counterpart. This causes more
consumption of memory on flash0, and possible verify failures if
there is no remaining space. This bug has been present since V16.
    - Set PSP nickname to "raw" to find an option to perform a
complete 32Mb binary flash dump. The raw dump routine is
an sdk sample. (firmware versions 1.50 or 2.71 SE)
    - Biult in Plain Black Wallpapers are 1x1 resolution to collectively
save approx 70 Kb of space over the stock XMB backgrounds.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)

Note: many considerations have been made to ensure this release works
smoothly on both supported firmware versions.
Features pertaining to Dark_AleX Custom Firmware POC for 1.50 are
disabled in 2.71 SE, including the prompt for it's auto installation at first
time use. Writing mp3 file to flash feature is disabled for 2.71 SE due to
lack of space left on flash0 after 2.71 SE is installed. Custom Gameboots
are limited in size to 618Kb when using 2.71 SE for the same reason.

I am always interested in correcting any repeatable problems that may be found.

    X-Flash V16d (Dual Firmware Support)
The same program runs on 1.50 and 2.71 SE, and behaves accordingly after the PSP firmware version is auto detected at startup.

    New for X-Flash V16d:
Bug fix to V16c. Firmware detection routine was blocking firmware version 2.71 SE-B3, and possibly any SE version later than the original SE-B.
This version will block firmware other than 1.50. 2.71 SE-B, or 2.71 SE-B3.

    New for X-Flash V16c:
    - Custom Coldboot Opening Sound (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Custom Coldboot Opening Sound with Echo Effect
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Built in Air Wrench Coldboot Opening Sound
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Delete Coldboot Opening Sound
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Apply Biult in Custom XMB Click Sound
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Apply Biult in Custom XMB Error Sound
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Allowed larger custom Gameboot Movie (619Kb Max) to support
the Prince Of Persia (Blood & Claw) Gameboot Movie.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Improved Biult In Plain Black Gameboot movie by DarkStone
(black movie from V16b sometimes pixelates with 2.71)
    - Fix to "ascii" nickname Easter Egg.
Menu editor can now be started with Select button or
from the menu to use the Easter Egg.
    (firmware version 1.50)
    - Implemented Real Time checking for low RAM condition caused by Mikmod loading the music module too many times in one session. This would probably never be an issue, since you would have to
play the ASCII credits demo or Free Space very many times to consume all available RAM.
    - Fixed "Hello Nickname" welcome screen for 2.71 SE.
    - Various other minor fixes/enhancements.

    Currently Disabled for 2.71 SE:
    - XMB Menu Label editor.
    - Firmware Version Spoofers.
    - Plain Black PSP About Screens (may be fixed in a later version).
    - Some Easter Eggs won't work because they rely on version spoofs,
    detailed name plate picture, etc.

Note: many considerations have been made to ensure this release works smoothly on both supported firmware versions. Features pertaining to Dark_AleX Custom Firmware POC for 1.50 are
disabled in 2.71 SE, including the prompt for it's auto installation at first time use. Writing mp3 file to flash feature is disabled for 2.71 SE due to lack of space left on flash0 after 2.71 SE is installed. Custom Gameboots are limited in size to 618Kb when using 2.71 SE for the same reason.

    X-Flash Windows Menu Editor

X-Flash supports saving the labels from it's buildin menu editor to a file. With this little app you can edit the "Labels.XF" file from X-Flash on your PC, save it into the X-Flash folder on your memstick, to then re-load and finally apply your new labels to your PSP using X-Flash.

That's it. Plain and simple :-)

    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Debranded Coldboot intro screen.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Debranded Gameboot movie.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)
    - Plain Black Gameboot Movie.
    (firmware version 2.71 SE)

The same program runs on 1.50 and 2.71 SE, and behaves accordingly
after the PSP firmware version is auto detected at startup.

    Windows Labeleditor for X-Flash

    News from Hellcat:

From version 15 on, X-Flash supports saving the labels from it's buildin menu editor to a file.
With this little app you can edit the "Labels.XF" file from X-Flash on your PC, save it into the X-Flash folder on your memstick, to then re-load and finally apply your new labels to your PSP using X-Flash.

That's it. Plain and simple :-)

*** This program needs the ".NET Framework 1.1 Runtime" installed! ***
If you don't already have it, you can get it via MS Update, the MS download site or the additional link posted in the release thread.

    How to use
    ------------
    Just run the XFME_win.EXE.
After a few splash screens you'll end up in the "editor".

Select a label you want to change in the list on the left and type in the new caption.
The program automatically takes care of the correct length - you can't enter more chars as the original length and if your new label is shorter than the original it's automatically padded with spaces.

Once you're done with editing click on the TRIANGLE button of the PSP image, that makes up the apps window, to save your new labels.
You can also click on the SQUARE button to load an existing labels set file.

To quit the program, click on the POWER or the HOME button and then on YES or ENTER on the "Are you sure" screen.

    Have fun! :-)

    Hi Guys,

I have retitled my current app from V6 (formerly titled "Virtual Tape Recorder"
because of the two new features that don't have much to do with a tape recorder.
    Code:
    Audio Mechanica V6c (14/10/06):
    * Right and Left shoulder buttons can now be used to adjust delay time while in echo mode faster than pressing
up and down on the D pad. Use of the shoulder buttons lifts the previous restriction on delay time, and allows
full use of the 22Mb data buffer to provide up to 4 minutes and 21 seconds of delay time.
    * Added an Echo mode to the Digital Delay Processor.
    * Fixed seek function (left and right shoulder buttons) to seek at the same speed for every sample rate.
    * Reel Position is now displayed in elapsed minutes and seconds for all screens.
    * Delay time for the Delay Processor mode is now displayed in seconds and miliseconds.
    * Various fixes, and significant code optimisation.

    - The Digital Delay Processor can delay an audio channel by a user defined value.
This could save on a stand alone piece of equipment that does the same job.

    - The Yakback Emulator uses voice activation routines to record continuous
chunks of sound, and auto playback each continuous sound chunk.
This works rather like a parrot, repeating everything you say after each pause
(repeating everything you say after each pause).

The Yakback Emulator is the beginnings of the way I'd go about a speech regognition,
    or lie detection program.

    - The Virtual Tape Recorder mode works as the previous digital recorder.

    - The Voice Activation mode works as the Virtual Tape Recorder, with the addition of
an adjustable sound activation level that can make the recorder work like a dictophone,
only recording segments of continuous sound.

ps. thanx to lteixeira for his audio input library, as well as some instruction I was given for making the basic recorder.
Audio Mechanica saves to Microsoft compliant wav file for playback in Windows Media Player!

    ** X-Flash V15c **
Play Free Space and Save Our Planet.

    - Win Free Space and a prize is unlocked permanently for the
    current X-Flash installation.

    - Save custom XMB label set as a file for later use or sharing,
and read from the file back into the XMB label editor.
    - The HOME and START buttons will now exit program from
within the custom firmware configurator and label editor.
    - Added startup checking of Theme.XF file, and Labels.XF file.
    - Added a new screen to the ASCII graphics demo.
    - Added feature to exit program and put PSP in standby.
    - Removed slow motion mode from ASCII credits demo.
    - Removed fast foward Easter egg from ASCII credits demo.
    - Bugfix to ASCII credits demo where line and circle drawing
routines excluded drawing on the bottom line of the screen.
    - Fix to Memory Stick free space check before firmware dump
to support over 2Gb for the new 4Gb Memory Sticks.
    - Another three Easter Eggs?

    ******************************************

    X-Flash Easter Eggs as of X-Flash V15 (11th September 2006)

    1. Use 13.37 Special version Spoofer to apply the 13.37 version spoof.
Now when you are in the credits demo, or document reader, the Triangle
button will toggle a 1337 text translator.

    2. Go to the menu option to start Simulation Mode, and select it with the
Circle button more than six times in a row before performing a firmware
dump, and the ASCII hand will flip you the finger!

    3. Set "Art" (case sensitive) as your PSP nickname in the XMB menu prior
to starting X-Flash. Now when you apply a custom nameplate picture, a
special built in X-Flash splash screen will be written to flash instead
of the file XFLASH/Modified/name_plate.png. This is different from the
sample name plate picture included in the Modified directory with X-Flash.

    4. Press Cross during the starfield display in the ASCII credits demo, which
will start the Free Space game in that screen. Use analogue joystick, or
the D-pad to control your ship, and press Cross to fire. You can only fire
one bullet at a time (oldstyle), and your ship turns green when it is ready
    to fire a new bullet.
Shoot the enemy five times in a single session before the time runs out,
and the "Free Space" string will be unlocked in the XMB Menu Label Editor
    for the current installation.
You can achieve a high score based on the time that it takes you to destroy
the enemy. If you beat the default high score, your high score will be saved.

    5. Set (case sensitive) "Free " (that's "Free" followed by a space) as your PSP
nickname in the XMB menu prior to starting X-Flash. Now when your Free Space
game is over, you can quickly restart it by pressing Circle to exit the
credits demo, then Cross to enter it again, and a new Free Space game will
    start immediately.

    Hope you enjoy the extras
    Cheers, Art.

    Hi Guys,
New site and download area is up & running:
    http://xflash.pspstuff.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4

X-Flash V14 has a few new fixes and features, check it out

    - Detection of iR Shell.
No possibility of launching X-Flash from within iR Shell.
Sorry, this is required. You can currently (Kerrang Build 5)
play mp3s which access the memory stick all the time.
    - Signature check on data section of the X-Flash program file
to prevent replacing/tampering of the program's built in files.
    - Slightly relaxed free RAM rule implemented in the last version.
(detect free RAM function by MPH).
    - Centered "Hello Nickname" welcome screen for everybody.
    nickupto25characterslongifthepspsuppor (Yes it does).
    - Added "Memory Stick" string to the XMB menu editor.
This can now be changed to anything like the other labels.
    - Added five new X-Flash menu colour themes.
    - Added a few more ASCII GUI effects and fixes.
    - Detection of stuck down HOME, SELECT, and START buttons
at startup. For people who have broken front buttons on their
PSP, those buttons will be disabled independently, for everyone
else, their operation is faster than the current version.
    - Fixed message that says "Apply Custom XMB Labels"
when using Auto Restore. it now says "Restore Default Labels".

    Cheers, Art.
