Retailer GAME has announced the return of its 99p Play Now Trade Later scheme – and this time it is available through its website.
“Each week the hottest new titles will be available for only 99p when trading in any two selected games,” the site explains.
“When your online order arrives, just head to your nearest store with your receipt/packing note and the two games to trade in within a week of the game's release, and you'll be refunded all but 99p.”
The Q4 releases to be covered by the offer are Borderlands 2, Formula 1 2012, World Of Warcraft Mists Of Pandaria, FIFA 13, Resident Evil 6
Pokémon Black Or White Version 2, Dishonored, Skylanders Giants, James Bond 007 Legends, Forza Horizon, Medal Of Honor Warfighter, Moshi Monsters Moshling Theme Park, Assassins Creed 3, Need For Speed Most Wanted, WWE 13, LEGO Lord Of The Rings, Halo 4, Call Of Duty Black Ops 2, Hitman Absolution and FarCry 3.

The Information Commissioner’s Office is planning to fine two individuals over £250,000 for sending millions of spam texts.
After gathering intelligence for months, the UK data protection and privacy watchdog is ready to use new-found powers to issue its first fine for spam texting.
Details on the two individuals facing the huge fines could not be provided as they still have 28 days to prove they are not guilty. Sources say it is very unlikely that the accused parties will be able to do so.
Another eight companies are also being investigated further and have been warned they may face further action unless they can prove that they are not breaking the law.
The ICO can fine individuals or companies sending spam texts as much as £500,000.
Simon Entwistle, director of operations at the ICO, said: "This is an important step that shows those who blatantly break the law will be in line for a sizeable six figure penalty from the ICO.
“We know that many of the companies making illegal marketing calls and sending spam texts try to operate below the radar, however we have been analysing information from relevant bodies, such as the TPS [Telephone Preference Service], as well as our own complaints figures in order to identify the most complained about companies.

GameCity invites you to Capsule Capsule, an exclusive theatrical presentation of Adam Saltsman’s latest title, tense space exploration adventurer, Capsule, featuring only at GameCity7 on the Old Market Square from 10am-5pm from October 22nd-27th.
The experiential event sees participants undergo special training on Earth before stepping into their spaceship to explore the dark, cold confines of space, battling dwindling oxygen and power levels while searching for answers to a slowly unravelling mystery.

Capsule creator Adam Saltsman said, “CAPSULE is a PC game about exploration and survival, inspired by Lunar Lander and CAPSULE co-designer Robin Arnott's terrifying audio-only gasmask game Deep Sea, a unique gallery-only game that you really have to play live to ‘get’. For months and months now we've been trying to figure out how to create a live version of CAPSULE, not unlike Deep Sea in some ways, and it is finally happening at GameCity7. We are customizing the game and composing some new sound around the experience, and we are both really excited for this thing to exist.”
GameCity Director Iain Simons said, “Capsule Capsule is the spiritual successor to Fez Dez Rez last year, and it’s part of our commitment to do more than just play new and exciting games you may not have heard of, it’s about experiencing them in entirely unique and surprising ways.”
Saltsman created Capsule as part of the launch of Brandon Boyer’s new site Venus Patrol, which was backed on Kickstarter by nearly 1800 contributors and focuses on the culture of gaming. Other collaborators on Venus Patrol included Keita Takahashi, Pendleton Ward, Vlambeer and Die Gute Fabrik, to name a few.
Capsule Capsule is a theatrical event with sensory deprivation elements taking place in a refrigerated area. Those of a nervous disposition, fear of dark/confined spaces or suffer from astrophobia are recommended to avoid this event.

It’s one of the biggest video game retail highlights of the year.

GamesAid last night revealed the final winners of its 2012 charity vote.
Action For Kids, Jigsaw4U, Small Steps, Special Effect and The Willow Foundation were the five charities that got the nod from GamesAid members. To be in the running each charity had to have a turnover of £5m or less and running costs of no more than 30 per cent.
Each received £36,000 in funding. This has been raised by several individuals and companies working across the games industry

Metal Gear Solid creator sees his peers as 'the last generation' of single visionaries
Metal Gear Solid designer and industry icon Hideo Kojima has predicted that there is little future for auteur developers in the games industry.
Speaking at today's Annual Games Lecture 2012 at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Kojima was asked if he saw himself as an auteur.
"I guess you could say that yes, I could be considered an auteur," offered Kojima, speaking through a translator.
Kojima takes complete control over his titles' gameplay, narrative, control scheme, presentation and just about every element of a Metal Gear Solid Game.
"But that said," he added, "I do think that that particular type of games creation is like indie film making. It is becoming more and more unusual."

The monthly after-dark explorations of videogame culture have long been a popular event in Nottingham’s calendar, fusing intimate developer presentations with a relaxed and accessible atmosphere.
But after three seasons and more than 20 events, GameCityNights is going on tour with help from Edge and Maxis’ SimCity. Wild parties, groupies, cars in swimming pools, the GameCityNights tour will have literally none of these things.
In partnership with Edge and sponsored by Maxis’ SimCity, GameCity will bring its imitable style to some of the best venues in the UK (once we’ve had a short rest after GameCity7, of course) and help create and support communities interested in the cultural and creative, all in celebration of the best the videogame industry has to offer.

Today saw the beginning of a four-day gaming extravaganza which Samsung are hosting at the UK’s premier consumer video game event, the Eurogamer Expo, in Earl’s Court, London.
The Samsung stand is hosting the national final of the World Cyber Games (WCG) FIFA 12 competition, where gamers will battle it out to be crowned the UK champion to win their place at the December finals in China. And to get the games under way, TV presenter Pollyanna Woodward made an appearance on the Samsung stand.
Known for her prowess in the technology arena, Pollyanna turned her skills to the digital sporting stage by launching the final wave of UK WCG qualifiers for FIFA 12. The qualifiers, which will take place across the Expo (27th-30th September), are free to enter and open to anyone who believes they have the gaming talent to represent the UK.
In addition to hosting the final WCG qualifications, the Samsung stand will offer -
· A showcase of the best Samsung products designed to enhance the overall experience for gamers, from notebooks to tablets to TVs and smartphones, ideal for home or on the move
· EA Games’ Need for Speed official Aston Martin car will be on the stand for fans to have their picture taken by
o Daily an artist will be drawing pictures of the cars from Need for Speed – all the artwork created can be won
