Rare Replay has debuted at the top of the UK All Formats UK Top 40.
It’s the first No.1 the developer has had since 1998’s Banjo-Kazooie on the Nintendo 64, and the first budget-priced title to reach the top spot since Wii Fit Plus in 2009.
No other new releases hit stores this week so the Top Ten remains familiar names. LEGO Jurassic World falls to second place with a 21 per cent sales decline, while Batman Arkham Knight dropping to No.3 as sales dip 22 per cent.
Meanwhile The Elder Scrolls Online also slips once place as sales drop eight per cent. And Minecraft: Xbox Edition comes back into the Top Ten in tenth place in spite of a seven per cent sales dip.

Four weeks after it first claimed the top spot, LEGO Jurassic Park is back to No.1 in the UK All Formats Top 40.

It manages this thanks in spite of a 14 per cent dip in sales week-on-week. Last week’s top dog, Rory McIlroy PGA Tour falls to fourth place thanks to a 46 per cent sales decline.
And Batman: Arkham Knight rises on place to No.2 with an eight per cent dip in sales.
Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto V rises up two positions to third place with sales shooting up 23 per cent. This is thanks to a sales promotion on the PlayStation 4 and Grand Theft Auto V hardware bundle.
Rockstar’s crime title wasn’t the only game to benefit from PS4 hardware promotions. God of War III Remastered, Bloodborne and The Order 1886 all saw sales increases this week, rising 79 per cent, 148 per cent and 406 per cent sales jumps respectively.
Price promotions helped a number of other games this week – FIFA 15 sales rose 90 per cent, while The Elder Scrolls Online increased 89 per cent week-on-week. Meanwhile, Battlefield Hardline saw a 148 per cent sales jump.

Four new releases in the Japanese software Top Ten last week wasn’t enough to dethrone continued phenomenon and chart success Yokai Watch.
The Busters spin-off of the massively popular franchise was number one for a third consecutive week, shifting over 118,500 units.
That was despite new competition from Capcom’s Sengoku Basara 4 expansion title Sumeragi, the PS3 and PS4 versions of which debuted in second and third, respectively.
A new Vita game, Makaishin Trillion, also managed to crack the Top Ten, slotting into sixth position.
A fourth and final new release, the pithily-titled TV Anime Idol Master Cinderella Girls G4U! Pack Vol. 3, closed out the Top Ten rankings.
Titles to vanish from the Top Ten last week included Phoenix Wright title Dai Ace Attorney: Naruhodo Ryunosuke no Boken, Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition and Mario Kart 8.
Both Splatoon and Rhythm Heaven: The Best+ managed to climb spaces – but with the sales of both titles falling week-on-week, this is likely more due to the lack of high-selling competition.
Meanwhile, last week’s number two, Batman Arkham Knight, fell seven spaces in its second week, down to ninth.
The game had led Sony’s PS4 to be the best-selling hardware in the region last week, but it was once again usurped by Nintendo’s New 3DS XL, which reclaimed its place at the top of the charts.
Similarly, Wii U was knocked back below handheld competitor PlayStation Vita, as the charm of Wii U title Yoshi’s Woolly World, which debuted the previous week, wore off. The Vita was the third-best-selling console of the week.
Here is the software Top Ten for the week ending July 26, according to the latest Famitsu data:

    1. Yo-Kai Watch Busters: Akaneko-dan / Shiroinu-tai (Level 5) 3DS – 118,534
    2. Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi (Capcom) PS3 – 46,291 (New)
    3. Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi (Capcom) PS4 – 24,848 (New)
    4. Splatoon (Nintendo) Wii U – 22,800
    5. Rhythm Heaven: The Best+ (Nintendo) 3DS – 16,721

    7. Yoshi's Woolly World (Nintendo) Wii U – 14,227
    8. Fire Emblem Fates: White Kingdom / Black Kingdom (Nintendo) 3DS – 14,219
    9. Batman Arkham Knight (Warner Bros) PS4 – 14,037
    10. TV Anime Idol Master Cinderella Girls G4U! Pack Vol. 3 (Bandai Namco) PS3 – 12,801 (New)

Rory McIlroy has done the double, staying at the top of the charts for a second week – making it the very first golf game to do so in the UK.
Rory McIlory PGA Tour – the first title in the franchise without the name of former box star Tiger Woods – retained its number one spot despite sales more than halving (down 56 per cent).
That’s partly thanks to a complete absence of new releases in the Top 40 last week, leading the existing players to move around.
LEGO Jurassic World climbs two places to second place, dropping eight per cent, while fellow Warner Bros release Batman Arkham Knight continues to hang in third, sales down almost a third (28 per cent) week-on-week.
Meanwhile, F1 2015 dropped back to number four as sales more than halve (down 55 per cent). The racing title is closely followed by chart staple Grand Theft Auto V, which has seen sales rise consistently for the last three weeks – it was up eight per cent last week.
Last week’s second place title God of War III: Remastered fell out of the Top Ten, down six spots to sit at number 15 as sales sell 37 per cent.
Although there were no completely new entries in the Top 40, Trials Fusion: The Awesome Max Edition managed to break into the Top 40 after debuting outside of the rankings last week, climbing to number 37 on the back of a 70 per cent increase in sales.
Here is the UK software retail chart for the week ending July 25th, according to GfK Chart-Track and UKIE:

    1. Rory McIlory PGA Tour
    2. LEGO Jurassic World
    3. Batman Arkham Knight
    4. F1 2015
    5. Grand Theft Auto V
    6. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
    7. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
    8. Minecraft: PlayStation Edition
    9. The Elder Scrolls Online

Japanese PlayStation 4 sales shot up this week as Batman: Arkham Knight launched in the country.
That’s according to Famitsu market data that shows that sales of Sony’s latest hardware rose 73 per cent week-on-week.
Batman: Arkham Knight debuted in second place, shifting 48,330 units in its first week on shelves. This is likely due to the fact that Sony had a marketing deal in place for Warner's most recent Batman title. And, of course, Xbox One sales in the region haven't exactly been stellar.
But it wasn’t the best-selling game of the week – that title goes to the latest entries in the continually popular Yo-Kai Watch series, Akaneko-dan/Shiroinu-tai, which sold 224,268 units between them.
Sales of the 3DS phenomena dipped 67 per cent week-on-week, down from its impressive Week One sales of 688,386 units.
New 3DS XL sales also dipped this week, declining seven per cent, as the hardware falls to second place.
Wii U sales rose this week on the back of Yoshi’s Woolly World hitting stores. That title debuted in third place, shifting 33,821 units, while Wii U hardware sales rose 11 per cent.
Below is the software chart for the period between July 13th and July 19th:

After seven years of bogies, Rory McIlroy has helped 2015’s instalment in the PGA Tour series straight to the UK retail chart top spot.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour is a big shake-up for the golfing franchise – it’s both the first PGA Tour to drop a year from its title and the first entry without the name of iconic golfer Tiger Woods in 18 years.
Not only this – McIlroy’s digital debut is only the second PGA title to launch on a Thursday, following Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, which released in March 2013.
Fortunately, it’s also the first PGA Tour to claim a Number One position in the UK software charts since 2008’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, with the new title achieving a similar level of sales as its predecessor.
This is probably thanks to its unique position as the only boxed golf title on PS4 and Xbox One at this point in time. (There are a number of digital ball-into-hole simulators.)
Further down the rankings, F1 2015 slips from pole position to trail PGA Tour as the racing title’s sales drop by three-fifths (57 per cent).
Batman Arkham Knight sits one space below, down from second to third as sales drop by a third (36 per cent).
In terms of climbers, Activision’s Destiny jumped four spaces to sixth with sales almost doubling (up 90 per cent) thanks to multiple Amazon Prime Day promotions.
The only other new entry in the Top 40 is God of War III Remastered, which debuts at number nine, over five years after its original PS3 version.
Meanwhile, monster-smashing new release Godzilla failed to make it into in the combined software charts at all.
Here is the Top Ten for the week ending July 18th, courtesy of UKIE and GfK Chart-Track:

    1. Rory McIlroy PGA Tour
    2. F1 2015
    3. Batman Arkham Knight
    4. LEGO Jurassic World

    6. Destiny

Batman isn’t just the world’s greatest detective and an all-around crime-fighting hero – he’s also a savvy marketing tool.
The Dark Knight’s latest outing, Batman Arkham Knight, helped propel the US games market in June.
Warner Bros’ title topped the software rankings for the month, according to market tracker The NPD Group (viaVenturebeat), leading a June that was 21 per cent up in terms of software revenues compared to 2014 – the sector made $345.5 million last month.
Of course, it should be considered that last June was rather devoid of big triple-A releases, partially accounting for the growth this year.
Thanks to a marketing effort on PS4, which included a console branded with Batman's iconic cape and cowl and bundled with the game, Sony’s machine once again outsold the Xbox One, claiming the crown for best-selling hardware in June.
Despite this, hardware was up across the board, growing eight per cent over the last 12 months to hit $313.1 million last month.
All in all, boxed software and hardware was up a combined 18 per cent on 2014.
Meanwhile, SuperData Research (also via Venturebeat) adds its estimation that June generated $1.02 billion in digital game sales – an 18 per cent bump from last year. (NPD, much like the UK’s own GfK Chart-Track, only counts physical sales.)
Mobile alone grew by 20 per cent to reach $367 million, However, PC and console didn't suffer in the face of this expansion, growing itself by almost a third (30 per cent) to hit $314 million.
Interestingly, compared to the boxed success of new June-release games Arkham Knight, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited and LEGO Jurassic World, the digital rankings were topped by two games released before June – last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Grand Theft Auto V.
2013 release Call of Duty: Ghosts also made an appearance, slotting in at number six above relative newcomers Mortal Kombat X, Battlefield Hardline and Madden NFL 15.
Here are the Top Ten best-selling boxed games for June, according to The NPD Group:

    1. Batman Arkham Knight
    2. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
    3. LEGO Jurassic World
    4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
    5. Splatoon
    6. Minecraft
    7. Grand Theft Auto V
    8. Mortal Kombat X
    9. NBA 2K15
    10. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

And here are the Top Ten best-selling digital titles for June, according to SuperData:

    1. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
    2. Grand Theft Auto V
    3. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel unlimited
    4. Batman Arkham Knight
    5. Destiny

The boxed charts might all be about Batman and Elder Scrolls, but 2014’s success stories continue to reign in the UK digital rankings.
SuperData Research has published its latest Top Ten for digital sales on console in June, finding that retail chart-toppers Batman Arkham Knight and The Elder Scrolls Online’s console iteration, Tamriel Unlimited, failed to break into the Top Three best-selling titles.
Arkham Knight, which claimed the biggest boxed launch in the UK last month, was the fifth best-selling digital title on console, while Elder Scrolls Online – the second-biggest launch of the year at the time of its release – placed fourth.
Podium positions were claimed by 2014 releases Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and FIFA 15 in first, second and third place, respectively.
Further down in the rankings, long-time chart presence Minecraft placed just below May release (and former biggest-launch-of-the-year holder) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, while Activision's Destiny, launched last August, slotted in-between Battlefield Hardline and Bloodborne, both released earlier this year.
Take a look at the full Top Ten digital console title chart, courtesy of SuperData Research, below:

    1. Grand Theft Auto V
    2. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

The latest video game craze in Japan is yet to run out of steam.
The Yo-Kai Watch franchise has already shifted more thanseven million copies, propelled by the success of the first two entries in the series.
Last week, the latest title from developer Level 5, Yo-Kai Watch Busters, shot straight to the top of the Japanese retail charts, shifting almost 700,000 copies in its first week on sale.
Busters is based upon a mini-game in predecessor Yo-Kai Watch 2, allowing players to take control of the titular creatures in order to take down bosses.
Meanwhile, a prequel instalment in the cult Ace Attorney series, Dai Ace Attorney: Naruhodo Ryunosuke no Boken, landed in second place, selling over 136,000 units during its debut week.
Both 3DS-exclusive titles, Busters and Ace Attorney helped Nintendo’s New 3DS XL handheld remain top of the hardware heap, comfortably out-selling Sony’s competing Vita. However, New 3DS XL sales were only marginally higher than the week previous.
The Vita was helped into second place by the release of Taiko Drum Master: V Version for the platform, which was the third-best-selling game of the week.
