Evolve Wild Jungle Edition PSP Faceplate
    Manufacturer: Talismoon
Site: Buy from Divineo China (Cow Fur) / Buy from Divineo China (Leopard Fur)
    Price: $14.95

Overview : With Talismoon range of Evolve 'Wild Jungle' edition for the PSP, gamers are treated to extreme levels of comfort thanks to a soft 'like fur' finish, as well as refreshing and unique new look. Xbox 360 controller come complete with everything needed for a pain-free install, and each fur faceplate pattern will be unique. Styles consist of a 'cow' or striking 'leopard' fur finish. Jungle Edition is also available for Xbox 360.

Quality/Usability : Packaging design is very thought out and cleaver. With the inclusion of an installation guide, torx wrench and screwdriver, installation would be very easy. The quality of build is top-notch. Talismoon has never disappointed anyone with their line of products. The face of the faceplate feels really nice. I guess its similar to like a fur coat but not as long. Not to mention, you dont have to worry about it shedding. The faceplate fits perfectly on the PSP without any problems. They also included a set of buttons to be used instead of the original PSP buttons. I personally prefer the original buttons but they dont as good with the faceplate. The feel of the buttons are great but thats just me.

    Included:
    • 1x PSP Faceplate
    • 1x set of PSP diamond series buttons (original psp buttons can also be used)
    • 1x optimal precision jeweler's screwdriver
    • 1x illustrated installation diagrams
    • 1x unique polishing cloth

Conclusion : The Evolve Wild Jungle Edition is a great product and unique as well. It has a nice feel to it so its not bothersome. Since its made of "fur", the only problem would be for those with sweaty palms. Would it smell? Getting stains on it and removing it would be hard as well. Besides that, this is a great product. I wonder if they would come out with a product with snake skin or something like that.

PSP LCD Remote with FM Radio
    Manufacturer: Game Brain
    Site: Buy from Goldenshop
    Price: $19.00

Overview : Alternative remote headset for the PSP. Now you can listen to FM radio using your PSP.

    Features :
    • High quality 3rd party product.
    • Full remote function of PSP.
    • Built in super high sensitive FM radio, easy to switch between radio mode or PSP mode.
    • No need to add any battery - get the power from the PSP console.

Quality/Usability : When I saw this product, I wasnt expecting to see a remote headset WITH a FM radio on it. So I had to see it for myself.

The package only comes with the remote and no headphones. You'll have to supply those yourself. The remote has a smooth rubberish feel to it. The remote itself is approximately 2.5 inches (l) x 1 inches (w) x 0.5 inches (d). With the wire, the remote measures 28.5 inches long.

On the front of the remote, you have the LCD screen (green) and to the left of it, a PLAY/PAUSE button. The top has a HOLD OFF/ON switch and a PSP/RADIO switch. The bottom of the remote has two buttons, a FF/CH- : REW/CH+ and VOL-/DOWN : VOL+/UP. The back of the remote is a clip. The clip is pretty big unlike the Sony Remote's clip and measures 1.5 inches.

To power on the remote, all you have to do is plug it into the PSP and the remote is automatically on. If you have it set to PSP, you can hear all in-game sound, MP3s and movies through the remote. If you have it switched to RADIO, this will turn on the radio. You can switch to any FM station that is available within your location.

The remote holds up to 40 presets for all your favorite radio stations. I must say, the quality is superb. I hardly get any static. Its even better than my Sony Ericsson w810i camera phone. But dont expect any bumpin' bass though. You can either scan through radio stations or go through each station until you find one. Since the remote runs on the PSPs battery, it does not take much power at all.

During movie and music playback, the buttons does what its suppose to do. PLAY/PAUSE does what it says. FF and REW only does it once. You cant have it FF faster (x2, x3) or REW (x2, x3).

Conclusion : Overall, the PSP LCD Remote with FM Radio is a great product. This is by far the best remote on the market. Not only does it have clarity, but the radio is awesome and doesnt drain the battery at all (it does but not noticeable). My only complaint is that there is no ON/OFF button. When you have the remote plugged in, its automatically on. So if you want the remote off, you have to unplug it from the system.

    Griffin RoadDock PSP
    Manufacturer: Griffin Technology
    Site: Buy from Griffin
    Price: $29.99

Overview : RoadDock is an ultra-versatile mounting system that allows hands-free viewing of your PSP.

RoadDock features a 2-inch-wide adjustable nylon strap that securely fastens your PSP to any vehicle headrest, airplane seatback, etc. RoadDock's sturdy cradle snaps onto your PSP and provides built-in tilt and 360º rotation.

All this adjustability translates into comfortable viewing angles for passengers of all sizes. Just lock PSP into RoadDock's cradle, snap RoadDock around any headrest, and sit back to enjoy your movies and tunes. Keeping the kids (big and small) entertained in the back seat just got easier by an order of magnitude.

Quality/Usability : The Griffin RoadDock mounting strap simply clips onto your PSP and straps onto just about any car headrest even on the visor. The PSP bracket that holds the PSP is made of durable plastic and rotates 360 degrees and also tilts so you can get a better viewing angle of the PSP.

Once the PSP was placed onto the RoadDock and the RoadDock strapped onto a car headrest, it was time to test it out. I tested the RoadDock on three types of headset. You have the headrest that is attached to the seat itself, then you have the headrest that moves up and down and another headrest that moves up and down but has a hole in the middle (racing type). With the test on all three headrest, the RoadDock did not move at all. I did not have to adjust the strap or have to tilt the PSP. Mind you, this was tested in New York City and the roads are pretty horrendous.

Griffin Technology was also nice enough to send their iTrip FM Transmitter PSP as well. Luckily, the RoadDock was able to grip onto the PSP with the iTrip FM transmitter attached. How? On the iTrip, there is a small groove on the bottom of the iTrip that the RoadDock can slip into. This is great to have sound transmitted through your car speakers instead of using headphones.

Conclusion : Overall, the Griffin RoadDock PSP is a great product to keep your young ones entertained during those long roadtrips to grandmas. It can even be an alternative to those integrated built-in LCD monitors in the headrest. For the price of $29.99, it does seem a bit pricey for just an accessory.

    2600mAh Lithium Battery Pack
    Manufacturer: Dragonplus
    Site: Buy from Divineo China
    Price: $19.99

Overview : A high quality lithium rechargeable battery for your PSP with a confirmed number of recharge of more than 10,000. Built-in FULL 2600mAh power. Can supply your PSP console with over 8 hours of power!

Quality/Usability : The 2600mAh Lithium Battery Pack is just another 3rd party battery. The battery pack looks identical in size and shape to the original Sony PSP battery, so no need to worry about the battery sticking out. Item is printed in gold with the words “2600mAh 3.6v MEGA LITHIUM”. The original PSP battery is 1800mAh and than Sony released a newer battery that is 2200mAh. So this battery has 800mAh and 400mAh more than the original PSP batteries respectively.

It takes about 4 hours to fully charge. Once fully charged, the battery operates slightly better than the original PSP battery. I get about 3-5 hours on the original PSP battery and it depends on what I’m using it for. With the 2600mAh Lithium Battery Pack, I get slightly better battery life. I get about 5-7 hours. It doesn’t get the supposed 8 hours of power as mentioned. Then again, I don’t think any of the supposed numbers of hours of power/play is even accurate. They are always inaccurate.

Conclusion : Overall, the 2600mAh Lithium Battery Pack is a good substitute battery. If you’re looking for 1-2 hours extra of play time on your PSP, pick this up. You might not notice it since you’ll be focused on playing your game. This would make a great backup as well if you cant afford the original PSP battery.

PSP 3800mAh External Battery Power Station
    Manufacturer: GameTop
    Site: Buy from Brando
    Price: $20.00

Overview : This battery pack for PSP connects externally to the PSP console and packs a massive 3800mAh of extra power for your PSP console, allowing up to three times the battery life. Acting as an external power source, the highest level of brightness (200 cd/m2) can be used. For convenience, an extra long cable is provided.

    Features :
    • LED indicator
    • Rechargeable Lithium Battery
    • This battery can be clip on your PSP and it can be a PSP stand.
    • Capacity: 3800mAh
    • Provides up to three times the battery life for your PSP
    • Can be used with or without Sony internal battery pack
    • Enables "Ultra-bright" display mode

Quality/Usability : Technically this battery pack doesnt clip onto the back of the PSP. What is actually clipped onto the PSP is the battery packs "holster". Once the holster is in place, the battery pack can be slipped in and out. This is convenient for those who swap UMD games or movies. If you need to access the UMD tray, all you need to do is remove the battery pack and this will give room for the UMD tray to open. Once you swapped the UMD you want, just place the battery pack back in and reconnect the cable. The holster also acts as a stand. Flip the stand down and you'll be able to prop the PSP up for viewing purposes.

With this external battery pack, you can get about 7-8 hours of additional play..thats roughly 10-12 hours total!

There are two versions of the 3800mAh External Battery Power station. The first one comes with the holster and short cord (pictured below). The second one comes with the battery pack and a long cord (not pictured). If you have the latter version of the Power station, since it doesnt come with the holster, you can just stick the battery pack in your backpack or pocket and still be able to charge and play. This is great for those who have cases such as the Logitech PlayGear Pocket that prevents any additional accessories to be attached to the PSP.

Conclusion : This is probably the most useful external battery pack I have reviewed. Not only does the holster become a stand, but the battery life on this is great. Not to mention the ability to remove the pack to give easy access to the UMD tray.

    Capdase Camouflage Case
    Manufacturer: Capdase
    Site: Buy from Capdase
    Price: $15.00

Overview : Virtually identical to the S-Bracket Leather Case, Twins Case PSP case and Nylon S-Bracket case.

    Features :
    • Made of water-resistant nylon
    • Secure S-bracket attachment.
    • Two memory stick pouches
    • Flip up inner S-Bracket for easier UMD replacement.
    • Inner Cushion for Ultra Protection.
    • Belt loop and strap-connectable.
    • Easy installation and release.
    • Use as Theatre Stand.
    • Camouflage Forest color.

Quality/Usability : This case is virtually identical to the Nylon S-Bracket Case and Jean Case. Everything that was featured on the Jean case is also featured in the Camouflage case. The only difference that the Camouflage and Jean case has that the Nylon doesnt, is that now it houses two memory stick slots on the underside of the cover.

This case is also exactly like the Twins PSP case except it doesnt have the accessories case attached to it. The case is extremely light, due to the jean material, but a stiff material has been added between the fabric layers for extra protection. There’s a belt loop on the back, as well as a carabiner attachment (silver carabiner is included).

There isnt much to be said about it as it is identical to the other cases so you can read up on the other reviews.

Conclusion : Overall, this is a great case just a minor change to the case (memory stick slots) Other than that, its the same ole case as the Nylon S-Bracket. Nothing else has changed. It would be great if they could fit a UMD slot as well or a zipper pouch on the outside. Keeps dust out and protects the system very well. Whats a good thing about this is that you can use it as a stand to watch your movies. If you're looking for an all-in-one which holds the PSP and accessories, check out the Twins case.

There are other colors available such as: Camouflage Forest, Camouflage Lava and Camouflage Ocean.

    PSP Flexible Hand Grip Pad
    Manufacturer: Dragonplus
    Site: Buy from Brando
    Price: $7.00

Overview : Flexible hand Grip Pad give you a gamepad feel for your PSP. Make you more comfortable for longer play.

    Features :
    • Smart and compact design
    • Soft rubber pad design give you comfortable feeling
    • Special controller pad design, for more easy control and good for longer play

Quality/Usability : This product pretty much resembles the PSP Rechargeable Grip. Only difference between this grip and the Rechargeable Grip that was reviewed is that this is made of rubber and doesnt have a rechargeable grip. So what are you getting? Just what the title says; a flexible hand grip.

The two grips are retractable for easier storage. Once separated, the two grips are held by a thin track. Just like the PSP Rechargeable Grip, this also feels a little flimsy. But once it is attached to the PSP, it is held securely.

This also has the PlayStation Dual Shock controller feel to it minus the rumble feature.

But what makes this slightly better is that you are able to access the UMD tray without having to remove the grip. The memory stick slot is still blocked but people mostly use the UMD tray to access their game or movies.

Conclusion : If you're just looking for a grip and no added items, this is the grip to take a look at. This feels great in your hands and is great for those with big hands and cramp after a few minutes of play. But for an extra $5, you can get a plastic grip with a rechargeable battery built-in.

    PSP CoreCase
    Manufacturer: CoreCases
    Site: Buy from CoreCases
    Price: $14.95 (plain) / $24.95 (with vinyl)

Overview : Hard, sturdy aluminum protection for your PSP.

    Features :
    • Anodized aluminum case with hands free viewing option.
    • Get all the functions from the PSP while the neoprene liner protects it from the real world.
    • Flip style lid has interior storage for two duo-memory cards.
    • Lanyard attachment point for use with the PSP lanyard option

Quality/Usability : The CoreCase is a little different from your average aluminum cases because it opens to the rear, instead of towards the front. The case has openings cut out for access to every major function except for the UMD door. While in the case, the PSP feels great in it. The back of the CoreCase is designed to resemble the back of the PSP itself. But when holding the PSP with the lid open, it may get in the way of your fingers. On the underside of the lid cover, houses two memory stick slots. When the memory sticks are placed inside the slots, its pretty much flush and the sticks doesnt protrude. So there is no worrying of the sticks scratching your precious screen.

A nice feature added to the case was the addition of two magnets on the rear hinge and the back of the case. With these magnets included, this will help prop the PSP into a stand which is great for movie viewing. You dont have to worry about the case falling flat or anything. The interior of the case is well protected and actually feels good.

Conclusion : Overall, the CoreCase offers great protection. My only complaint is the accessibility to the UMD Door. This case comes very close to the Capdase Luxury Case. Not only is it affordable but it also gives the owners the option of customizing the case with vinyl skins.

PS: Unfortunately, vinyl skins arent offered on the website. There will be 6 choices to choose from.

    Capdase Jean Case
    Manufacturer: Capdase
    Site: Buy from Capdase
    Price: $15.00

Overview : Virtually identical to the S-Bracket Leather Case, Twins Case PSP case and Nylon S-Bracket case.

    Features :
    • Made of water-resistant nylon
    • Secure S-bracket attachment.
    • Two memory stick pouches
    • Flip up inner S-Bracket for easier UMD replacement.
    • Inner Cushion for Ultra Protection.

    • Easy installation and release.
    • Use as Theatre Stand.
    • Jean Rush color.

Quality/Usability : This case is virtually identical to the Nylon S-Bracket Case, except that has a jean look and feel to it. Everything that was featured on the Nylon S-Bracket is also featured in the Jean case. The only exception is that now it houses two memory stick slots on the underside of the cover.

    WaterField Designs Gear Pouch
    Manufacturer: WaterField Designs
    Site: Buy from WaterField Designs
    Price: $39.00

Overview : The PSP Gear Pouch is made from Ballistic nylon, with padding internally protecting the PSP and other items. The main compartment includes a self tightening pocket, which has enough room for your PSP in a case. Three pockets give you room for game disks, an extra battery and the power supply. There is enough spare room between the sides to carry your power cord, a large spare battery and the manual.

    Features :
    • PSP Gear Pouch - 9.75" x 5" x 2" 4 oz.

Quality/Usability : The concept of this case is pretty much the same as of that of the Capdase Twin Case that was reviewed. But the Waterfield Pouches take on a whole new look. The cases are made in San Francisco, California..thats right, no overseas manufacturers. Made in the good ole US of A. The PSP Pouches are built from rugged Ballistic nylon, offer ample padding, and secure zippers and seams. Each case has two handy loops for easier carrying or for strapping to your backpack or messenger bag - one vertical loop and one horizontal loop. Both cases (Gear Pouch and Mini Gear Pouch) come in a variety of colors and are priced just as you'd expect.

The Gear Pouch measures - 9.75" x 5" x 2". It is the perfect size for those of us who want to bring along more than just our PSP. The pouch features a padded and lined compartment for your PSP; a main compartment for the AC adapter, power cord and USB cable; slots for UMD games, movies and more; and a zippered front compartment with various slots for things like Memory Sticks and miscellaneous. The case offers so much room that you can fit other items such as your wallet, cash, coins and even spare AA/AAA batteries for your CD player or digital camera. Whats even more of a shocker is that you can place your PSP into a Logitech PlayGear case (if you own own) and still be able to place it inside the Gear Pouch. Thats how much room there is!

Conclusion : This is probably one of the nicest cases out there. Nothing too fancy and nothing too boring. It does its job and probably more. You dont have to hold your PSP and accessories in here, you can use it for other items such as your digital camera or other electronics, but than whats the point of calling this a PSP Gear Pouch? The sizes of the pouch may turn consumers head away because it does kind of look like a clutch bag that your girlfriend or mother would carry around in their hands. But if you want a nice case to hold your PSP and accessories all in one place, than thats the price we'll have to pay.
