    The developer Samy releases his new homebrew game Runner Lord inspired (just say that this is a remake if not a clone) to Lode Runner, a classic of early 80's. Coder but not limited to this, many times it happens that make available to the community the tools needed to implement new homebrew. Among these benefactors is the place coder Geecko issuing his latest project: the gLib2D. This is a very lightweight 2D graphics library, which allows the display of basic objects, support for JPEG and PNG, alpha blending and texture cropping, support system with three coordinates, and compatibility with intraFont.
    These are just some of the functions accessible by the coders who want to implement this library in their projects.

    The work 6.20 HEN (TN) is enhanced by a further episode. In this episode, our developer (or to use a neologism "deveroe) Total_Noob, as is often the best superheroes, is facing criticism from the people. But to quote Uncle Ben in the movie Spiderman, "With great power comes great responsibility" * and continued undaunted in the creation of his masterpiece, although someone has pointed out as a liar. The criticism stems from what has been learned with the previous news, where there has been talk of an alleged dell'HEN porting from 6.20 to 6.31 with the consequent abandonment of the project. Never was most unfortunate news for both as was shown by both the limited knowledge Total_Noob dell'anglosassone idiom by the developer, which makes it difficult to clearly express their ideas. But the issue seems resolved.
    TN is currently devoting exclusively to the 6.20 dell'HEN waiting to be made about the future, and it is working really well, making it more of a hybrid between a Homebrew Enabler and a custom firmware. The last published list of improvements is a manifestation. Among the powers of her child to see the appearance of the battery charging via USB, the implementation of the Fake Region, the ability to set the CPU speed and many other small but important features and improvements.
    Meanwhile, elsewhere, one of his most powerful allies, the coder Wololo constant vigilance on the activities of TN defending a drawn sword, and adds the welcome news that the developer dridri continues in the development of a new ISOLoader. But the time is not ripe yet to know if it can be easily adapted to the new HEN.
    The plans for the Liberation of the PSP and we shall look forward to an exciting new episode.

    Changelog:

    Quote:
    Changelog 7/11/10:

    So we have been very busy with FSD, i would say we have done nearly a complete re-write. A lot of things won't be seen outright but will be noticed in stability.

    To get a started the biggest issue with FSD was constant read and write to disk for everything, checking if files exist and so on. It caused a lot of overhead and slowed things down.

    So first step to new system is we changed settings and content to run inside an SQL Database and use SQL for all these functions. This has increased speed and decreased read and write requests to disc which is huge. This also meant all settings now had to be configurable in dash as we won't have a config file to edit.

    Another major issue people had was content scanning, it was to slow and we couldn't do anything while it was scanning.

    We have sped up scanning dramatically but also we have caused it to be dynamic. SO if you open your game list and it's still scanning you will see the items get added to the list as they complete. This is a huge improvement on past implementations. To be honest, except on initial scan you probably won't even notice though cause it's that fast.

    Now we have also added a lot of new features, i am not even sure i remeber them all. For starters though here is a quick list.
    * Xlink / Kai client.
    * TitleUpdate management
    Gamelist has multiple viewing styles now
    * dual pane file browser
    * HTTP Server(site you can find info and lists about your xbox)
    * FSD Plugin
    A plugin is being developed for FSD to allow multi disc support as well as trainers and such. This is being done as side along and will be released, and information given as it become pertinent and stable.

    Shortly after the first Microsoft Kinect for Xbox reviews starting appearing in the wee hours last night, another Kinect story cropped up. It seems some testers encountered difficulty in getting the Kinect to identify players with darker skin color.

    Consumer Reports did not encounter this issue with the Kinect and facial recognition when we first tested it. But it did remind of us a similar rumor about a "racist" HP laptop—which we debunked—last year. So we decided to test again the Microsoft Kinect with two players of different skin tones, in varying light levels.

    Here's what we found: The log-in problem is related to low-level lighting and not directly to players' skin color. Like the HP webcam, the Kinect camera needs enough light and contrast to determine features in a person's face before it can perform software recognition and log someone into the game console automatically.

    In June 2008, on a flight home from Europe to San Francisco, I was given a fascinating demo of some jaw-dropping technology.
    I was sitting next Inon Beracha, CEO of Israeli company PrimeSense, which had developed a low-cost chip and software to do 3D machine vision.

    He’d already had several meetings at Apple. It was the first place he and his engineers thought of. “It was the most natural place for the technology,” he said.

    Yet the initial meetings hadn’t gone so well. Obsessed with secrecy, Apple had already asked Beracha to sign a stack of crippling legal agreements and NDAs.
    He shook his head. Why didn’t he want to do a deal with Apple? No need. The technology was hot. He could sell it to anyone.

    A new version of abgx360 has been released:
    [QUOTE]
    Changes affecting all platforms:
    * Added full support for all current PFI/Video waves and the ability for future waves to be fully supported through updates to abgx360.dat
    * The SplitVid check is now mandatory when checking an ISO/DVD and the "Check Stealth" option is enabled (iXtreme LT requires SplitVid for XBL safety)

    Note: The GUI has not been changed and will still display version 1.0.2, don't worry about it as long as the CLI app displays v1.0.3

    Sorry for the long release interval but v1.1.0 is taking much longer than expected and hopefully this interim update will address the main concern people were having, even though v1.0.2 was designed to support new PFI/Video waves as long as the game was verified, v1.0.3 gets rid of the yellow text and also allows you to check SplitVid on newer games that haven't been verified yet. It does not, however, add automatic searching/patching of SS v2 files. That's something that isn't even finished in v1.1.0 yet, and there's still the matter of SS v3 to deal with.

    Note 2: XBL safety is very uncertain at the moment... The latest LT firmware for Samsung drives is considered by many to be fairly safe (since the TS-H943A ms25/ms28 original firmware doesn't support AP 2.5) but owners of other drives need to be very careful and upgrade to LT+ when it becomes available.

    Note 3: Just because the source code for abgx360 is made available, it does not imply a right to make changes and/or distribute source or binaries. Permission to do so is granted on a case-by-case basis. This is necessary to prevent people from distributing buggy code or binaries which may adversely affect the online database, or distributing potentially virus infected binaries on sites that appear official but are not. If you only need to make a small change to enable compilation on your system, permission is hereby granted to do so, as long as it does not affect the way abgx360 communicates with its online database in any way.
