Amidst all the glory, chaos and sheer madness of E3, it's easy to forget the simple pleasures in life, like a no-nonsense series of screenshots from one of the best football management series of all time.

They don't need a half an hour build up, thumping music, clueless celeb endorsement or any degree of whooping, just gentle appreciation of the noble art of handheld footy management.

You're probably already enjoying the iPhone version (it's certainly a popular option for the CVG commute in), but there's the PSP version later in the year, where you can enjoy the delights of the Blue Square Premier and AFC Wimbledon versus the mighty Cambridge. Glory days indeed.

Speaking at Ubisoft's E3 conference, company CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that game design luminary Michael Ancel is returning to Rayman, the series he conceived, to create a 2D platformer named Rayman Origins.
The game is set for a XBLA and PSN release, and has been created by a team of five using the Ubiarts proprietary toolkit.
Ancel also designed Beyond Good and Evil, and appears to be giving Origins a handpainted look like that made most famous by the Metal Slug games and, more recently, Wario's wii outing.

With serious questions being asked of the accuracy and reliability of Microsoft’s Kinect tech in recent weeks, an impressive demonstration at Microsoft’s E3 press conference has proven all doubters wrong.
Working demonstrations of several Kinect launch titles showed that even in an environment as hectic as the LA stage, Kinect is able to accurately track player’s movements – no matter how hectic.
Further additional functionality was shown, including Kinect’s ability to takes pictures of you while you play. These can then be shared with friends online.

While much of Apple's focus in recent months has been on its mobile efforts, with the iPad and iPhone 4 lapping up all the media attention, it hasn't forgotten about its Mac business after all – despite internet claims to the contrary.
The firm has today launched a new version of the Mac Mini – a small form factor desktop machine which packs double the graphical power for the last model, thanks to a NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor.
The chassis measures 7.7 inches square and 1.4 inches thin, and Apple claims it is the most energy efficient desktop available.
“The sleek, aluminium Mac mini packs great features, versatility and value into an elegant, amazingly compact design,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing. “With twice the graphics performance, HDMI support and industry-leading energy efficiency, customers are going to love the new Mac mini.”
Prices for the new Mac Mini start at £649, with various bundles available for an extra cost.

Even as the Kinect-exclusive Dance Central got certain Engadget editors into the groove, it didn't resonate with all of us, so we headed downstairs for a peek at Your Shape, to get in touch with our inner Zen -- and beat things up, of course. We had a blast punching blocks, though the system only recognized strikes that crossed our own body, and some editors were tripped up by the mirrored virtual doubles the game generates. Actual yoga poses were far better done, with Kinect accurately tracking our moves with little perceptible delay. Unlike in Wii Fit, which merely measures center of balance, a joint gauge of sorts (you can see the angle of your bones) let us readily tell when we were slouching or off-kilter, and adjust our posture respectively. We broke a sweat, looked like doofuses and had fun doing it -- what more could you want?

Ah, here we go, Samsung's other cellphone with an integrated projector just got an official launch date. The Galaxy Beam (codename: Halo) with its 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display is now slated to hit Singapore in July. That means that the European and broader launch across Asia should be just around the corner if Samsung's claims from Feburary hold true. At launch, the world's first Android phone with a built-in DLP pico projector will be served version 2.1 of Google's confectionary delight. Specwise, we're talking 7.2Mbps HSPA data on 900/1900/2100MHz and quad-band GSM/EDGE, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11n WiFi, an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with flash (front-facing VGA) and HD video recording, A-GPS, FM Radio, and an 1,800mAH battery. Memory is confusingly listed as "4Gb + 2Gb + 1Gb + 16Gb MoviNAND" made worse by no mention of microSD though it was definitely there when we went hands-on with Beam at Mobile World Congress. Specs after the break.

Look up at the sky -- is it falling? It sure seems as if that kind of doom is imminent, at least if this whole iPhone 4 pre-order situation is any indication of future tragedy. We've received hundreds of tips this morning from friends near and far that iPhone 4 pre-orders aren't going through, though a few of us here on staff were able to get a confirmation during the wee hours of the morning. From AT&T in the US to O2 over in the UK, it seems that just about everyone ambling to get their name on a future iPhone 4 is experiencing a great deal of frustration. AT&T's servers seem to be completely hosed here in America, and since Apple's own online order process has to ping those to check on your contract status, neither option is... um, working. Those who decided to line up at a local store are facing similar issues; employees aren't even able to fully process pre-orders in store due to systems being overwhelmed, and no one seems to exactly know when things will be back to normal. And you thought the most enraging part of this was the inability to select a white model. Let us know how your experience has been in the poll and comments below, won't you?
