Anyone who has tried their hand at RPG Maker 1 (or any text input with a controller) knows how difficult it can be typing long paragraphs into the console. [Thutmose] is here to save the day with Kupid 1.0 (2.0 in production). A PICAXE takes ps/2 keyboard input and converts it to a series of d-pad button presses for PS1 and PS2 controllers, providing quick data entry compared to the previously monotonous task.

We’re happy to learn that the source code and hardware is released, meaning it has the potential to be easily adapted to any controller/console.

    New from Divineo USA

After the amazing success of the Xecuter LT Switch solution, Team Xecuter has launched the latest addition to the CK3 family of products – the FIRST complete NO SOLDER solution for the newer Liteon DVD drives – the CK3 Probe v2. This is targeted to installers who require a multi-use no solder solution to the new Liteon drives – or to the users who simply don’t have the skills to solder the cheaper LT switch alternative.

Still retaining the original CK3 Probe function of dumping the 74850 key, but now also enabling full firmware access of the new 83850V2 and 93450 drives – you can easily switch between PROBE and LT Switch Modes – A complete all-in-one solderless solution !

    – Liteon 74850 – No Cuts Required – No Rebuild PCB Required. Switch to original CK3 Probe Function for DVD Key Extraction
    – Liteon 83850V2 – 3 Small Trace Cuts (Same as LT Switch) – No Rebuild PCB Required. Special Conductive Glue supplied with kit to easily repair the cuts (Enough for at least 10 DVD Drives) – No Soldering !
    – Liteon 93450 – 3 Small Trace Cuts (Same as LT Switch) – No Rebuild PCB Required. Special Conductive Glue supplied with kit to easily repair the cuts (Enough for at least 10 DVD Drives) – No Soldering !

Installers can use this again and again and again and again – No rebuild boards – no soldering – NO PROBLEM !

The CK3 Probe 2 connects to both the CK3 Lite and CK3 Pro connectivity kits and includes full status LED’s and an extra protection circuit against accidental shortages on the DVD PCB. ...

    News via http://dingoonity.org/

Thanks to sloopy2 we can listen to music while we play games in DINGUX!

    Quote
    Hi guys,

I got my dingoo a month ago. Its a real cool thing to have.
Well I started using dingux and messed a bit with the toolchain.
I saw a thread here where someone asked for a way to listen to music while playing games.
    So here we go

    mpd for dingux

Its just a "quick" port mp3 and ogg vorbis are supported.
I added some very simple scripts to control the mpd server with gmenu2x.
There should be a new section to control playback of your music if you have gmenu2x installed (I use the santino local pack).

    Discuss it here: http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-...?topicseen#new ...

Nebelwurfer HQ is proud to release its 0.70 patch for Dreamcast Advanced Daisenryaku 2001.

Latest Patch fixes: All the Dialog Screens that contained Japanese text as part of the background image have been translated.

All of the scenarios in the Alternate History and American Front sections of the Campaign have been translated. This brings the count to 78 out of 103 campaign scenarios translated.

This should make the game playable. There is still some untranslated Japanese text that appears in the game. Mostly these are error messages that appear when you do something wrong. All the scenarios needed to play the campaign to a successful conclusion are now translated. I estimate that the translation is 70% complete.

    Remaining Tasks:

Translate the remaining 25 campaign scenarios from 1943-1945 on the Eastern Front, Western Front, and Italian Front. These are the scenarios where Germany is mostly on the defensive up until their final collapse.

Optional: (I may be burned out before I get to these)

Translate the 9 scenarios that are only available in Scenario Mode.
Translate the Menus used when playing in Scenario Mode.
Translate the Menus used when using the Scenario Editor
Translate the Help Topics used in Scenario Editor Mode

We can't say for sure what's new here but that wireframe outline is most definitely a Wiimote. The Nintendo-branded Bluetooth device just passed through the FCC courtesy of Hon Hai Precision, aka Foxconn. There's very little in the way of detail here other than a new RVL-036 model number reminiscent of the console's "revolution" roots. Perhaps the new Wiimote finally integrates the MotionPlus add-on? Who knows, but it certainly makes sense given Miyamoto's recent comments. At least we can be certain that it's exactly 12 times better than the model RVL-003 Wiimote shipping today.

While the whole game industry was apparently tanking last month, it looks like people were still snapping up Microsoft Points. TechFlash noted late last week that the 1600 Microsoft Point card (equivalent to $20 in Earth money) was the top-selling "accessory" for both March and April, according to NPD. We decided to get in touch with the NPD Group for a closer look at how the accessory battle has been shaping up.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the 1600 point card's closest competitors come from Nintendo (people have to play all those copies of New Super Mario Bros. Wii with something after all). In April, the Wii Nunchuk and Remote took the second and third spots, respectively. In March, the second and third spots belonged to the Nunchuk and Wii Motion Plus. The month prior, the card was actually at No. 2, so it seems like Microsoft is doing a pretty brisk business in MS Points.

The question, of course: Just why was everyone stocking up on Microsoft Points? Oh, right.
