This is for people who just need to have that "official" stamp on everything related to their console.

Sony Japan has started up a PS3 hard drive upgrade program. Owners of pretty much any current PS3 model -- even 20 gigabyte launch units -- can send in their system to have their internal hard drive replaced with a 250 gigabyte disk.

No, this isn't a free process. Not even close. For the parts and labor, Sony is asking 18,000 yen. That's close to the price of a new PSP-3000.

It looks like Sony takes care of everything for you, though, from swapping out the drives to moving all your data over from the old drive to the new one. They'll even back your old hard drive.

Still, it should be noted that you can easily swap out hard drives on your own or opt for an external USB solution, both at far less cost. This is something that Sony's upgrade info page fails to mention, unfortunately.

This program is only available in Japan at present.

I ask you, would you really pay old Sony to upgrade your PS3's hard drive? I sure as hell wouldn't. Leave feedback via comments. ...

The gpsp was my first emulator port with dynamic recompilation. The problem in memory mapping and dynarec is that local data in Symbian OS is too far away from the user area, where we the new memory chunk for the dynamic area was created. My first solution was the memory trampoline pattern.

However I got an optimal solution from Olli Hinkka. The solution is called dynamic text segment relocation routine. Basically the relocator is relocating the process into the user memory are in Symbian. With this approach no memory trampoline is required, since the static side is close enough to the dynamic side.

    How to use it:

You’ll need Olli Hinkka’s relocator code. You can find it at least from gpsp github. relocutils.h relocator.cpp and relocator_glue.S

First you’ll have to relocate your process on the user area in the Symbian. The user local data area is between 0×004-0×38000000, see the Symbian OS memory map. I’m using 0×10000000 in this example. ...

Social networking is second nature to the Nokia N8. People can update their status, share location and photos, and view live feeds from Facebook and Twitter in a single app directly on the home screen. Calendar events from social networks can also be transferred to the device calendar.

The Nokia N8 comes with free global Ovi Maps walk and drive navigation, guiding people to places and points of interest in more than 70 countries worldwide.

The Nokia N8 also offers multiple, personalizable homescreens which can be loaded with apps and widgets. [Shu Uesugi] is filling a controller void that Nintendo has yet to address. He picked up a golf glove from Target and incorporated it into an air guitar interface. Give the video after the break a chance, you’ll start to see the full potential of this build about three and a half minutes into it. Using an Arduino, a Wii nun-chuck, and his flex-senor adorned glove [Shu] can play individual notes, strum cords, and play around with sound effects such as distortion.

So come on Nintendo, the Power Glove was one of your greatest ideas, where’s our 21st century version? I guess we’ll just have to make our own like [Shu] did. Perhaps we’ll even build our flex sensors from scratch.
