Over on Ebay theres a massive collection of games, consoles and accessories dubbed 30 years of VIDEOGAMES COLLECTION... The history of VideoGames!!!, the price is $500.000 and theres 7 days left, details below:

    Heres some screens of it:

-The games count over 6850 pcs. with about 6780 boxed and 70 loose, and are in various format NTSC Japan or Usa and also PAL.

-The consoles are over330, with 307 system boxed and 24 loose, and even in this case we have all the different standards.
-The controllers are about 220 with 167 boxed and 52 loose. I included all the kind of controller, from the simple joypad to the special controller like all the konami bemani to the densha de go train controller, and the arcade joystick as well.
-The accessories are about 185, and in this category I put the ac adapters, the various av cables, the rumble packs, the memory cards, battery packs, the converters for the region locked games, and various other items like screens, printers etc.

Heres more of what the auction posted:

I focused on the series, so I have all the games about Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Castlevania, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Sakura Wars, Super Robot Taisen just to make some example. Also I focused on some type of games, like the Shooters or the RPG: I have about all the shooters for the Megadrive, Saturn, Dreamcast, PC Engine, Playstation 1 & 2 and so on, and also I have about all the RPG, and I have to specify that the shooters are japanese but the RPG are the english version (which are for sure most collectable and valuable than the japanese). Of course there are about all the classic rare games, from Dracula X Rondò of blood (three copies, one sealed), Radiant Silvergun (two copies, One sealed), Magical Chase (two copies, one sealed) and then two copies of Ginga Fukai Densetsu Sapphire, and many many other... Hundreds of games, especially for the later consoles, are still brand new and sealed, and in many case, especially for the rare or good one, I have two copies, one to play and one sealed. I included in this auction either a nice collection of pcb board, with classics such as Burger Time, Wonder Boy, Rygar, Splatterhouse, Ghosts’n Goblins and Ghouls’n Ghosts, and much more, and also rarities like Osman/cannon dancer.

Conditions of the games may vary but the 85% are in great/excellent conditions .The case in which the games are incomplete or in poor condition are really rare.
About the systems what to say? They are well over 300, about 50% of them are brand new, another 40% are complete and in good to very good conditions and the last 10% are loose or not 100%complete or maybe in fair conditions. I have some very good collector pieces, like the Hitachi Gamenavi Saturn, Both the Bio Hazard Dreamcast (red & blue), The Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles pearl white Gamecube (only 150Pcs in the world), Two Game Boy Advance SP Famicom color for the 20th Mario Anniversary, The Metal Gear limited edition PSP and the list can go on.
I tested some of the important one (not the brand new...), like the PC Engine LT or the Saturn Gamenavi and they work fine, but I have to say that I’ve not tested all because it is a task to big for me at this time. I cannot guaranteed that all is perfectly functional, and please note that all the material in this collection is sold as is. You know that some console are particoulary delicate in some specific area, like the speakers of the PC Engine GT, or the belts of the Famicom Disk or again the plastic gear of the old Nec Cd rom. Sadly in the cases previously mentioned even if the console is brand new, problably it wont work because the problem is the deperibility of some parts due to the age and not the use (of course, in that case, it is possibile to fix them)
The controllers are a very interesting category, I have many different kind of them: from the normal joypads, maybe in different color, to the arcade controller like big professional joystick or steering wheels, to about all the music controller like guitar, dance mat, dj station, battery, maracas and many other different and strange devices. Plus I have a large quantity of light guns and many different train controllers and also i would to remark the presence of all three Konami Arcade Style controller, for Guitar Freaks, Beat Mania and Pop’n music, just looking at them is a joy for the eyes... and all is brand new, never played with!
What else to say... I have hundreds of accessories, Limited Editions, Promos, special items related to video games, like action figures, soundtracks, and also a lot of rare books and strategy guide

Hundreds more photos over at Ebay and the price -- $500.000 --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/121062811693

When a company delays a product for "minor refinement," we typically expect to see small changes that contribute to a stronger overall product. That wasn't Wikipad's approach -- when it took its namesake gaming tablet into the lab for "minor" tweaks, it took a few inches off its screen size. The Wikipad is now a 7-inch tablet, slated to launch in spring for $249. It's smaller, the company says, but no less powerful -- it's keeping the Tegra 3 GPU the original build promised, not to mention 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB of Flash memory, a 2-megapixel front facing camera and a 1,280 x 800 resolution display.
Wikipad's President of sales, Fraser Townley, told us the gamepad design hasn't changed much either. "We took the pinball wizard approach," he said. "We made everybody in the room shut their eyes, and try the controllers. It's not about the look, it's about the feel. Once we got the feel right, then we could worry about the look. That's how the ten inch was born, and that's how the seven inch stayed the same." The attachment boasts new buttons (now labeled a, b, x and y) with a chrome finish, but seems otherwise unchanged. Wikipad is mum on specific availability, but we're told we can expect to hear more after Chinese New Year. As the 10.1-inch original design? It's still coming, but Townley couldn't it narrow it down further than "before Christmas." Read on for Wikipad's official press announcement, or click here to find out how the tablet was cut down to size.

    2. PS4

The PlayStation 4 will go on sale for at or above ¥40,000, a new report claims.
That equates via a direct conversion to $425 or £270. Of course, don’t be surprised to see a mark-up outside of Japan, so the likely conclusion is that we’ll be seeing a £300+ machine hitting the streets later this year or early next.
Sony will quite possibly release multiple SKUs, too, meaning a high-end offer of perhaps £400.
The news comes from the Japanese press via CVG, which rightly points out that the advanced nature of the tech in Sony’s upcoming machine means the cost likely represents Sony selling units at a loss.
Also rumoured is Sony’s intention to utilise the streaming games technology it acquired when it swooped for Gaikai last year. PS3’s controversial Cell chip is also to be given the boot, although that’s something we’ve known for some time now.

Microsoft is likely to follow the template it laid down with Windows 8 when it comes to designing the Xbox 360’s user interface.
That’s according to the former VP of Windows Sales Joachim Kempin, who told IGN: "I think the other thing they will try, there’s no doubt about it, is it’s going to be more Windows 8-like; maybe it even gets a touchscreen, who knows?
"Most of what’s in there today really is Windows, right? I wouldn’t be surprised if the next round of interface comes even closer to Windows 8 than it is today; maybe it even gets a touchscreen, who knows?"
Kempin also addressed recent claims that Microsoft’s games division is loss making. That’s not quite true, he says, though he does concede that Xbox as a whole has proved a damaging distraction for Microsoft.
"On the [Xbox hardware] itself there is no profit," he stated. "So the profit comes from all the other sources; royalties from game developers, maybe the next Halo version, maybe a new Kinect system and what have you.
"It is such a small portion for their company. It would really be better if they would just spin that whole thing out and let other people run it on their own and not get distracted by it. For me that whole environment is a distraction for the company.”

PlayStation outfit refused to work with computing giant, claims Joachim Kempin

Microsoft entered the console business to take on and defeat Sony after the PlayStation manufacturer refused work with the company, the former VP of Windows sales has claimed.
According to Joachim Kempin, Microsoft set about creating the Xbox hardware so that Sony didn't achieve the kind of dominance on televisions that Microsoft enjoyed on PC.

"Sony was always very arm's length with Microsoft," Kempin told IGN.
"Yeah, they bought Windows for their PCs but when you really take a hard look at that, they were never Microsoft's friend. And Microsoft in a way wanted them to be a friend because they knew they had a lot of things we could have cooperated on because they are, in a way, an entertainment company, you know?
"I mean, at least a portion of Sony is and they had some really good things going there, but as soon as they came out with a video console, Microsoft just looked at that and said 'well, we have to beat them, so let's do our own.'"

You’ve got to admire Microsoft’s bravery. News that its next Xbox could shut out the second-hand games market has caused strong reactions across social media today, and it has impacted upon the real world too. GameStop’s share price took a dent following the publication of our story earlier this afternoon. If our sources are correct (and we’re confident they are), Microsoft has made the move that publishers and developers have been asking for. Microsoft’s next Xbox will do what Steam and the App Store have been doing for years, and very successfully, too – a download-first, one profile, one purchase, one storefront system. Overnight, it’ll stop GameStop and GAME from selling on games without a penny heading back to its publisher, let alone its creator. In recent years, online passes have allowed publishers to recoup some of the cost of maintaining servers for online play, but they have always been something of a half-measure. With the next Xbox, Microsoft could go all the way.The key differences between Steam, the App Store and the next iteration of Xbox Live are in pricing and that ‘always-on’ detail. There’s good reason no-one really cares that you can’t trade in Steam and App Store games – often, they’re so cheap it barely seems worth the bother. One can easily call into question whether download-first next-gen games will actually be any cheaper because they skip costly manufacturing and distribution processes. One would expect they won’t be. On first impressions, Microsoft is taking a huge risk in cutting out a second-hand games ecosystem which keeps gaming affordable and its players interested in the box under their television. But it is worth remembering that in adopting this download-first policy, Microsoft is free from existing pricing models. One can easily imagine premium prices for those titles deemed still worthy of a retail release. Service-based subscriptions for bigger, costlier games will play a part, too, and middle and lower tier games will sell further down the pricing scale. And let’s not forget free-to-play.Microsoft has also, rather more sensibly, surmised that the kind of consumer happy to pay for a next-generation console is going to have a decent internet connection. It is not a portable device; there’s little harm in keeping the next Xbox connected, as long as the next iteration of Xbox Live is implemented in the right way. Past experiences with always-on services have been disappointing – just ask Ubisoft and Blizzard – but that’s current generation technology. Microsoft must take note of its contemporaries’ mistakes and make its always-on Xbox service as unobtrusive as it can.

    2. Wii U News
    Article Preview

The Wii U GamePad includes a near-field communication function, but you wouldn't know it if you didn't, say, read obsessively about game consoles on the Internet. At the moment, no Wii U game uses it for anything, not even Skylanders, which ships with its own NFC reader.

Speaking to investors, CEO Satoru Iwata discussed potential plans for the tech, none of which have been finalized. Nintendo's ideas for NFC uses split in two directions: Skylanders-style toys and credit card reading.

"For example, we can create cards and figurines with NFC and design our video games to work in conjunction with them," Iwata said of the first possibility. "Also, an increasing number of arcade games are utilizing IC cards which can read and write data in order to record users' scores and it is possible for Wii U games to connect with them." Nintendo is working with "several" developers on ideas like this, "and, by the end of this year, we will probably be able to show you some output, tell you about some more concrete examples of the possibilities or even let you try out some tangible examples."

The other potential use of NFC, as discussed by Nintendo before, is for payment cards. "Technically, it is possible to settle an account by waving an e-money card over the Wii U GamePad," Iwata said. "We are conducting research into this right now as one of this technology's future possibilities." While NFC payments are more prevalent in Japan than elsewhere, there are lots of credit cards in America that can be used by tapping on the card reader. Setting your card down on the GamePad would certainly be more convenient than entering a number.

Whatever Nintendo does with the technology, Iwata is adamant that it had better do something. "Since we have made a certain investment in order to install NFC," he said, "we will make efforts to at least receive a return on our investment."
