    The word "Ultimate" really gets thrown around a bit much in retail circles -- for instance, in our minds, the "Ultimate Blu-ray Movie Kit" would possess every Blu-ray movie ever made, a PS3 Slim, a machine that somehow produced delicious sandwiches, and a date with which to watch the aforementioned films. The date would also have to hate sandwiches, because -- hey, hands off, those are our sandwiches.

    Sadly, Australia's recently released "PS3 Ultimate Blu-ray Movie Kit" doesn't include any of those things -- rather, the $60 AUD (or $51 U.S.) bundle only comes with a PS3 remote and two films. Both of the two currently available bundles come with 300, but their second films vary -- one includes 10,000 B.C., while the other comes with Batman Begins. If you're having a hard time choosing between the two, then you should probably get out of our sight and never come back.

    Hi folks,

    I just published a "DinguXMB Starter Pack", a collection of software containing everything you need to run Dingux and the new DinguXMB on your Dingoo A320, plus some fun stuff (Stella, PicoDrive, Mame, Kobo Deluxe, Open Tyrian). It is nowhere as complete as Warpedflash's dingux + dmenu start pack but, well... it's a start

    The current and first version is 20090829 (47.3 MB), and you can get it at:

    http://rigues.badcoffee.info/dinguxmb-start-pack/

    Software included:

    * The latest Dingux kernel and rootfs by Booboo (from 08/13/09)
    * DinguXMB 1.0 by Slaneesh
    * PicoDrive 1.35 by A600
    * Stella Dingux Preview 0.1 by David Pello
    * MAME4ALL Dingoo v1.1 by Slaneesh
    * Kobo Deluxe by 50m30n3 and
    * OpenTyrian by ingood

    This pack includes no game ROMs. Go find them yourself. There are also some pictures and a song (in .ogg format) to showcase the multimedia capabilities of DinguXMB.

    I find DinguXMB to be a much better menu solution than dmenu (even though it is still on early stages), and that motivated me to create the pack. Hope you guys like it ...

    Hi All,

    fMSX is a famous emulator of the MSX, MSX2, and MSX2+ 8bit home computers.
    It runs MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ software on many different platforms including Windows and Unix.
    See http://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/ for further informations.

    It has been first written by Marat Fayzullin, and later Vincent van Dam ported it on SDL.

    Here is a port on GP2X-Wiz of the version i've previously ported to PSP.

    Many new features have been added compared to GP2X-F100 version. Here is a copy of the changelog :

    - Cheat support !
    - New background images
    - Text editor to write your own comments on games
    - Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
    - Display first comment line while browsing game files
    - Memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code !
    - Zip rom files are now decompressed in memory (much faster !)
    - Improve file requester with virtual keyboard to choose
    sequentially rom files beginning with a given letter
    - Add documentation for settings in help menu
    - Add gzipped disk file support, reduce disk file size from 700k to 50k !
    (you may gzip original dsk file using www.7-zip.org)

    How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

    It's distributed under Marat Fayzullin's license for the original MSX part, and under GNU license for all the GP2X part.

    Enjoy,

    Zx.

    A Little about the reviewer

    Ive been an emulation and homebrew fan for as many years as i can remember but nothing i repeat nothing is better than playing on the real hardware.

    Back in the Megadrive(genesis) and Snes days i owned a Super Wild Card and a Super Double Pro fighter, both cost about 300 pounds and ill admit that it was a great way to play games that i would never have been able to afford or because of stupid region lockouts.

    So the day when Neoflash announced they were working on a Flash Cart for the Megadrive called NEO Myth MD 3in1 flash cart i wanted one so badly, infact on the day they announced it i went out and brought a Megadrive.

    So anyway to my reason for posting, sadly i dont own a 32X, i did a look on ebay and boy are they fetching a decent price (100 Pounds) so i can only really test Genesis and Master System Games.

    The good news is that you dont need a Master System to play the games via this flash Cart. Now i am no tech head just really a normal user much like most folks so this is a review in that atittude.

    Photos

    The Packaging

    The Unboxing

    The Flash cart in its 2 parts

    The USB Lead

    Neo 2 cart & 512mb Card

    The Cart in my Megadrive

    Getting Started

    One thing that didnt come with my review sample was a driver CD, thankfully Dr Neo of Neoflash has been releasing and updating his recently released GBA + MD 3in1 Myth cart PC programmer V2.82 (Local Download Here).

    Now sadly i didnt have any info on what to do, which is something i expect Neoflash to sort out on retail of this flashcart..

    So heres what i did

    First off connect the USB Lead to your PC/laptop

    Making sure the ram cart (or indeed the Neo2 is in the Super MD Flash Cart)

    Connect USB Lead to Flash Cart

    Then it will come up asking you for drivers

    At this point unzip the (GBA + MD 3in1 Myth cart PC programmer V2.82).

    Click on the exe file and it will unpack itself and also will find the drivers.

    If that was successful you should now be able to add roms etc.

    Adding Roms etc

    A strange bug if you will is that the Cart asked for the drivers again, i just let them find the drivers automatically and everything was ok, a tad infuriating but for anyone with modest experiance of using Windows its no real hardship.

    Click on the shortcut for Neo2 Ultra Menu (software you just installed)

    all being well heres the screen you should see

    Now im no great techie but this is where things are very easy. its just a case of dragging and dropping your Master System/Genesis/32x roms onto the window where it shows you the rom info, its as easy as that.

    I hate messing around so thats a big thumbs up from wraggy - Remember that to play 32X roms you need a 32x although you can play both Genesis and Master System Roms on the Genesis.

    After you have dropped all the roms you need onto the window you click MD Burn and it takes a matter of a minute or maybe more depending on the amount of roms your putting on the cart.

    Theres a load of other options in there including options for N64 etc so obviously this software is going to be used for the upcoming N64/Snes Flash Carts.

    Another great thing to note is that if you have the Neo 2 Nintendo DS Flash Cart that also can be used in the Super MD Flash Cart. I havent tried it yet but you can use the ram cart in a GBA too.

    Now for Gaming

    Plug the Cart in and turn on your system, you will see a screen like this (sorry for crap photo my new tv dislikes rf output)

    Now press up/down to scroll through roms.

    Press b/c to load your desired rom

    Enjoy your gaming

    New for Wiz from Madman

    Copy the file "joystick.inc" to your game folder.
    In your programm use

    #include "joystick.inc";

    and in the main process or where needed, call the function

    init_controls();

    This will setup a process to get the Wiz key status.
    After that you can check the JOY array, e.g.

    JOY[BY] = Button Y
    JOY[START] = Menu Button
    JOY[SELECT] = Select Button

    News/release from DusteD

    This is a very quick hack of my sdlLife (without the SDL part for now), I don't have my wiz yet so I'm putting this up for feedback. You will have to run it from a terminal program. It will exit after 100 iterations (a minute tops), please tell me if it runs I will update it with a real life sim when I get my wiz and learns to link against SDL.

    In short: Run from terminal, tell me if it works.
    Thanks.

    We made it. You and me. We made it to Friday. And more importantly, we made it to TELL US DAMMIT.

    Here's how it works: We ask a question, you answer it. Simple and no strings attached! This isn't some marketing survey or whatever. It's an emotional investment in you. Yes, we're interested in knowing you, reader person.

    You probably know oodles about us - more than you even want to, we're sure. But, hey, we'd like to know about you. That way you won't be some faceless blob - and we might feel a tinge of guilt when we ban ya. Or not, because really we're incapable of human emotion.

    Question: If You Could Own Only One Console, What Would It Be?

    It is done. MIPS Technologies has demonstrated its enhanced implementation of Android running in 1080p via extended libraries to support hardware graphics acceleration and decoding on Sigma Designs hardware, a portent of set-top boxes yet to come. Of course, without any video or pictures or video of the blessed event (ISB Corp's previous OMAP based effort is pictured above) it's hard to tell why Android coming to TV is such a great idea, if its cousin widgets are any indication, there's a chance of being high on pre-release hype but low on desirability once it reaches the market. Still, the Open Embedded Software Foundation pledges to continue on shoehorning Android into devices beyond the mobile handset, but if it's shut down by a band of torch wielding villagers demanding the monster be put down, don't say we didn't warn you.
