Built from 51,324 Lego pieces and the souls of several misbehaved kittens, this gargantuan DSi currently adorns a window of the Nintendo World Store in NY. While this is spectacular in itself, we're even more impressed with the mirror images of "NAILS, HAIR, PSYCHIC" hovering menacingly over the scene, speaking of the powers and inherent evil of the cat captured by the DSi's camera. While there are plenty of Lego / Nintendo mashups out there, we'd say this one definitely wins the price for malevolence.

Today I got my brand new white Nintendo DSi, ordered from Amazon uk for £145 with free delivery. I decided to take and post some photographs with everyone on DCEmu. Yes you're probably thinking "Meh, there's other sites that already have some pictures and videos of it in action". Still I wanted to share some here on the site. They're not the best as some of the photos are a bit blurred and darked in some as they were taken in low lighting conditions but I think they'll do anyway. Anyway, you can see them all via comments below. ...

Team Fortress 2 is set to receive its largest update yet, Valve has revealed.

The next of the shooter's never-ending stream of character updates will be focused on the Sniper, the developer revealed on its blog, and new content for other classes is also planned.

"The next class pack will focus on the Sniper," Valve said. "It's actually shaping up to be the largest TF2 update yet, with multiple new maps and a bunch of gameplay tweaks.

"In addition, we've got another update in the works that should be done before the Sniper, and that one will include some new content for all classes."

Addressing the patch-less Xbox 360 players, who probably feel akin to battered housewives next to their spoilt PC cousins, Vale said that the 360 update "is still being worked on".

"If you're wondering what's taking so long, since the content is 'done' on the PC already, it's mostly been around fitting it all onto the Xbox," it said. "The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the Xbox's memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we've produced has pushed well beyond it.

"We've found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it's turned out to be a lot of work, and that's what most of our time is being spent on. In the meantime, we're going to get a code update out to address the server cheating that's going on."

Street Fighter Alpha has been revealed as the best-selling PSone game on the PlayStation Network.

That's according to Gamasutra, which obtained a list of the top ten titles from Sony. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is in second place, followed by Crash Bandicoot in third.

Funnily enough, there haven't been any new PSone titles on PSN this year - but Sony promises more in the future. Here's that top ten list in full:

    • Street Fighter Alpha
    • Crash Bandicoot
    • Twisted Metal 2
    • Spyro the Dragon
    • Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
    • Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
    • Wild Arms

The last time we heard from Envizions, the company was just starting to get its game plan together -- but it looks like the gears are officially in motion on its Linux-based game console. The final specs for the box now seem to be in place, with off-the-shelf components like the Athlon 64x2 5600 CPU (clocked to 2.4GHz), an ATI HD 3200 graphics chipset, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 120GB hard drive filling out what is essentially a standard PC housing.

Envizions say that the console will run a modified, quick-boot distro of Fedora called Mirrors (which can be upgraded to a beefier build named Mirrors Evolution X), and will feature a "cloud" service stacked with Amiga (!) games and an Akimbo-based video service. Beyond that, proper titles will be sold online and on SD cards for around $20. Envizions is currently taking pre-orders for the box, and say beta units will be shipped on April 10th. Pricing for those consoles will run between $280-350, while the final retail version can be had for $380, and should be available sometime in June.

We have just two words of advice for the fledgling company: get some killer games on there fast, and please, please update your site. ...

Marvelous Entertainment's announcement last week of Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance was just a bit on the mysterious side, with no solid details on the game. Those details came today with a major update to the game's official site and a few new screenshots.

Battle Stance offers up some major differences to Valhalla Knights 2. Most notably, the game has a new battle system, known as the "Active Action Battle" system. As part of this system, the battle party count has been dropped from six to four, and you can now team all your characters together for a simultaneous attack.

Outside of battle, you'll find some neat little features that make the game more user friendly. Gate Crystals can now be found around the world and help you instantly transport to past regions of play. The game also has improved status screens and an updated tutorial mode.

In terms of content, there's plenty new on offer, it seems, including over 40 new items and weapons, new boss-level beasts, and a variety of quests. There's also a gallery mode which links up to parts 1 and 2 of the series and unlocks movies as you progress through those titles.

All these updates are being made available for a pseudo budget price point of 3,990 yen (most PSP games in Japan cost about 1,000 yen more). We're not sure if this game has a chance of American release, so importers looking for an RPG experience on the PSP should check with their favorite sources on June 25. ...

EA looks likely to be the first third party to ship games that support the Wii MotionPlus device with Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods 10. The company may even beat Nintendo itself, unless Nintendo decides to announce a release date for Wii Sports Resort, and then ship it, before June. So, presumably, someone working on Grand Slam Tennis has had enough time with the attachment to know what's up.

Thomas Singleton, producer for Grand Slam, said that the device is actually a little too good at registering one-to-one motion. He told TechRadar that "At times it's overly responsive. It had so much fidelity that at times we have limited that fidelity to make it a compelling experience and giving you full total control." So EA reduced the amount of control you have in order to give you "full total control?" ...

Sony has released a free update for PlayTV that introduces an SD upscaler among other new features.

Perhaps most exciting (relatively speaking) is the new ability to go directly to watching TV from the XMB, rather than having to click through menus.

Producer Mark Bunting announced the new features in a Three Speech video blog, adding that there are also new fast-forward and rewind speeds, and new volume controls.

The SD upscaler is "basically magic with maths", he said, providing "sharper pictures" and "improved contrast" to normal TV images.

"One day we want PlayTV to work in high definition," he added, "but we can only do that when free digital TV comes in HD, which at the moment only happens in France and Spain."

To get the update, PlayTV users who haven't done so before should scroll down to the "About" button in the Settings menu and click through to download. Those of you who have previously updated should have a Software Update button on the main menu carousel. ...

Bethesda has replaced another faulty version of The Pitt on Xbox Live Marketplace, according to the developer's blog.

Those who had the Fallout 3 content and were experiencing crashes need to delete the existing content and re-download. Those unaffected need do nothing.

To delete The Pitt content, head to the Memory option within the System Settings part of the Xbox 360 dashboard Settings menu. Once there, scroll down and find Fallout 3, select, and then confirm deletion of The Pitt.

The Pitt was released last Tuesday but soon removed as the Xbox Live Marketplace file was corrupted. No sooner was this fixed than the latest bout of crash-related problems arose.

Nevertheless, The Pitt - which costs 800 MSP (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60) - is a worthwhile purchase (like myself) and offers considerably more value than Operation: Anchorage - the first of the Fallout 3 DLC. ...
