Nintendo on Thursday released its third quarter financials for its fiscal 2009 and made official, among other details, life to date Wii and DS shipment numbers. Amazingly, since its launch, the company has shipped a staggering 45 million Wii consoles globally. Nintendo said it shipped another 312 million Wii game discs. Meanwhile, it revealed that more than 96 million DS systems have been shipped globally since the portable launched along with 533 million game carts from the publisher.

Wii owners might also be interested to know that the Big N said it has shipped globally 14 million and 13.67 million copies of Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii respectively since the two titles launched.

In other news, Nintendo reported nine-month (April to December 2008) global sales of 1,546 billion yen, an increase of almost 17 percent over the same period in 2007. It also reported a 27 percent increase in operating profit over the 2007 time frame. "This marks the fourth consecutive year that Nintendo Co., Ltd. has exceeded the previous results for the same nine month period," the company stated in its financial recap.

Nintendo did, however, cut its yearly sales target for Wii, likely due to the economic crisis. It now expects to sell 26.5 million systems globally this year, down from a projected 27.5 million.

Regarding its '09 forecast, the company offered, "Nintendo will continue to pursue expansion of the gaming audience and provide products that offer unique entertainment that puts smiles on the faces of people of all ages and genders." ...

I am currently working on fixing bugs from v0.9. I'll be posting updates here as I continue to work on graphDS.

In v0.9.1, I focused on fixing bugs with graphing. Graphing will no longer result in random pixels and lines being plotted and I've also refined my algorithms so that weird things don't happen near the edges of the screen. Please be aware that I also resized the graphscreen, so there will be a white space 4 pixels wide around the entire graphing area.

    Download graphDS v0.9.1 here.

As always, I greatly appreciate your donations.

Klutsh & RainMotorsports grace us with convenience at its finest… Here we have another Windows app to easily create a magic memory stick for use with a Pandora battery.

As illustrated in the screen shot, PSP Grader not only creates a magic memory stick, it packs a few additional options: inject an IPL only, clean the Pandora stick ridding any files created by PSP Grader, and the ability to change the default trigger to load Pandora when you’re ready.

    Features

Download the eboot straight from the app!
Load eboots stored in ZIP files.
    Coming Soon:

RAR & 7z Loading - Rar loading didn’t make the port to pascal but only due to time restraints, it and 7zip loading are planned!
Backup Script - Once again due to time constraints a backup function didn’t make it. Grader never had one and mine never worked to begin with so I put this off till it could be done right!
SPEED - While this app is no slower than anything I have written before it is slower than Grader 6. We have already begun finding ways to speed up the app and it will be sped up soon!

    News/release from Torch

The various Lockdown applications were getting out of hand so from this update I've consolidated them into a single Pack.

    Lockdown updated to v4.0
Lockdown XMB Style updated to v4.0

Enhanced security. Plugins cannot be used to bypass the password.
If you enter Password Change Mode, you can press Select again to exit without entering a new password.

    Lockdown In-Game unchanged at v2.0

Lockdown allows you to password protect your PSP from prying eyes.
You can also protect the Recovery Menu so that the protection can't be bypassed at all.

Lockdown XMB Style uses the XMB Wave as the background, and is only for the PSP Slim.
Big time thanks to Dark_Alex for his VLF library, without which Lockdown XMB Style would have been impossible. Also thanks for adding the Plugins Disable feature in 5.00M33-2

Lockdown In-Game will require you to enter a password when you resume your PSP from suspend mode. Useful to prevent other people from messing up your progress if you put the PSP in suspend during a game.

Adorably-mascotted Firefox Mobile 'Fennec' is on its way to an early February release for the Windows Mobile-powered HTC Touch Pro, according to a post on the project's developer wiki.

The quote isn't gospel, but it's a pretty solid indicator:

We are targeting a Milestone release for the first week of February, targeting the HTC Touch Pro

The Touch Pro is an interesting choice for the first release; the decision, I'd wager, stemmed from the ease of porting—resizing interface elements and managing the GUI is much easier when you got the Pro's 480x640 display to work with, and dealing with performance issues, which were evident in the early Nokia N810 build as well as the emulator, wouldn't be so hard on this relatively beefy piece of hardware. Not to mention the fact that the QWERTY keyboard simplifies finger-friendly text input.

Whatever the reasoning, the release of a Windows Mobile version of Fennec represents significant progress toward a wide Windows Mobile release. Plus, I don't see why this build wouldn't at least sort of work on other VGA WinMo phones like the functionally identical Touch Diamond. ...
