PSP Coder Dark_AleX has just released an update for 5.00 m33.
Mainly noticeable in iso's, since firmware 3.80 loading speeds have decreased.
This update speeds up memory stick access by flashing a modified 3.71 ms patch.

Here's what Dark_AleX had to say:
Just a little update to the fatmsmod patch, it stopped working in 5.00 due to a sony file changing its name.

Instructions: decrypt 3.71 using psardumper (square option).
Copy the file fatmsmod.prx in the root of memory stick.

Copy FATMS371 to /PSP/GAME or /PSP/GAME5XX. Run the program and done.

Performed by one of Johnny's youngest bands, Mayonaka no Shadow Boy marks the first year anniversary of the band's debut and is the theme song of Scrap Teacher, a drama which starred its band members. As junior high school students, these boys seek to reform their useless teacher and their falling school.

Somewhat of film about the rite of passage of both the boys and their teacher, the song shows the maturation of the Hey! Say! Jump!. The limited version is already sold out, a sign of how popular this band is.

DSi supply appears to be scarce. Retailers like Yodobashi Camera and Softmap aren’t taking online reservations. This means even in Japan you have to go through a middleman like World Select Market on Amazon Japan to get one. The price? 35,500 yen ($382!!). No one is twisting your arm to buy a DSi for that price, but if your life depends on visiting the DSiWare store on day one and don’t have a reservation ticket in your pocket it’s going to cost you. Short supply and the declining dollar (note: we’re past the dollar for 100 yen mark) explains why importers are charging around $300 much for the handheld.

The funny thing about this launch is few Nintendo DSi specific titles has been announced. Nintendo said the DSi Web Browser will be downloadable the day the system comes out and there’s a moving notepad utility. Mini versions of Brain Age are the only announced “games” and they don’t have a date. Also, please note the Nintendo DSi is region locked. We contacted Nintendo of America for further clarification if it’s just the DSiWare Store or cartridge games (if any are being made) and are waiting on a reply.

Grand Theft Auto IV is old news for us. We’re done with the game looking forward to zombie wars. Japan is one of the few places in the world that doesn’t have the game yet. Capcom is going to publish it next week and it’s not getting a typical meet the creators launch in Akihabara. That’s not GTA hip. Grand Theft Auto IV’s release party will take place in Club Harlem in the trendy Shibuya district of Tokyo on October 29. Party goers will be able to hear music from the game and drink in the presence of special guest Mister Cee. Mister Cee? Isn’t he a DJ from Hot 97 in New York? They flew him halfway around the world for this?

This isn’t the only Grand Theft Auto IV promotion going on next week. Capcom and Microsoft are linking up to give away briefcases of swag that includes a GTA IV dart board, pool stick, and a “Statute of Happiness”. The Grand Theft Auto games have typically sold decently in Japan, but never got a launch this big.

With Tokyo Game Show behind us, it's time to move on to the flood of Q4 releases. That would explain Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Fable II being unceremoniously plopped on the stoop of Kotaku Towers West. Both will get a good gameplay session thrashing this weekend from yours truly and then ultimately reviewed — as will as the recently acquired Portal: Still Alive — but there are some non-obligation games here too. Finally picked up Call of Duty 4 (I know, I know), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (I know!!), LittleBigPlanet and Dead Space. So many games!

I'm going to put in a request for some time off from my job writing about games to play some of these games. How about you? Halloween parties planned this weekend?

Highly-anticipated sequel BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams is getting a multiplatform release, 2K Games has confirmed.

The FPS follow-up will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, a 2K statement said (what, no DS release?!)

The first trailer for Sea of Dreams, which is little more than a CGI willy-wave, was spotted at the end of the PS3 version of BioShock last week. We've finally got our hands on a lovely hi-res version now, which you can find below...

The first game was famously released exclusively on Xbox 360 and PC, and after a year of rumours and anxious speculation, it finally hits PS3 today. It's good news then that PS3 owners probably won't have to suffer a long wait next time around.
