Heres just a little article I wrote on my blog, which Id thought Id share with the rest of you

I was a huge fan of the original Condemned, the story line was amazing, the in your face battle system was awesome and really added to the fear, the graphics were awesome, on the Xbox 360 I didn’t notice any jaggies, which is suprising!

If only I could say the same about the Condemned 2: Bloodshot, I have come across the save game bug, in which the saves are on the hard drive but are not detected by the game! Luckily, I have not come across any of the audio issues so many are complaining about. I hope a fix is released because I refuse to play back up to the area I was at, especially when it could happen again.

So the question remains, who’s to blame? Is it the publisher, Sega, who could have forced the game development times, to cash off what would have sold good in either state (See KotOR 2)? Or is it the developers, who were just to lazy to fix these problems, or to lazy to thoroughly have their game tested. Yes I realize not everyone will come across these problems, but their are more then 2 beta testers at Monolith, plus the copies the employees probably played. If not the save glitch, how do you let the audio sync issues which many are facing who choose to run their audio through HDMI?

I expected 2008 to be Sega’s redemption year, in which they would shape up, get their act together, and release quality games. So far they have released two big titles, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, and Viking: Battle for Askgard, although both met with good reviews they both have problems, like really bad glitches that can stop you from going any further. I still recommend you buy these games though, they will probably get patched, soon…

    UPDATE

1.40a Released with some config fixes

Notaz is back and with the killer release Virtua Racing now supported on the GP2x. awesome news

There are two major features in this release:

    1. SVP (Sega Virtua Processor) support for Virtua Racing at playable speeds (often fullspeed).

    2. Greatly improved streaming for Sega CD games. Read-ahead buffer must be disabled for this to work.

Other then that, some other things were fixed or improved.
    More detailed changelog below:
Added support for SVP (Sega Virtua Processor) to emulate Virtua Racing, wrote ARM recompiler and some HLE code for VR. Credits to Exophase and Rokas for various ideas.
Changed config file format, files are now human-readable. Game specific configs are now held in single file (but old game config files are still read when new one is missing).
Fixed a bug where some key combos didn't work as expected.
Fixed a regression in renderer (some graphic glitches in rare cases).
Adjusted fast renderer to work with more games, including VR.
Fixed a problem where SegaCD RAM cart data was getting lost on reset.
Greatly reduced SegaCD FMV game slowdowns by disabling read-ahead in the Linux kernel and C library (thanks to Rokas and Exophase for ideas again). Be sure to keep "ReadAhead buffer" OFF to avoid slowdowns.
PicoDrive now comes with a game config file for some games which need special settings, so they should now work out-of-the-box. More games will be added with later updates.
Files now can be deleted by pressing A+SELECT in the file browser.
    download here
source code is still being prepared..

    ________

Note that Virtua Racing needs some special settings to run well, but the new config system should handle all that for you. In case it doesn't, switch renderer to "8bit fast", disable "accurate timing", and enable "SVP dynarec" in advanced options. You will also need to overclock a bit.

The majority bug reports I get are actually configuration issues (people mess up their configs), there are far too many options in PD. To solve that, I could simply remove most options and force them to accuracy mode. But that is not a good idea, because those opts allow doing things like extreme underclocking for some games, and I know some people do that (I will probably do that for Pandora, though). So I decided making a single file for game configs, and ship PD with that file. The file contains special settings for some games which need them, so those games work out-of-the-box. I haven't prepared it for every game out there though (that would need far too much time), so users can update and share it. The games are detected using headers, so there is no need to worry about filenames differing.

Nintendo using their muscle to get rid of fan sites now:

As some of you have noticed, FC has gone down several times recently. You were told that it was due to the site being backed up. This was also what the admins THOUGHT was the cause. However, it was due to something completely different. It turns out that Corey had received several emails from NOA (Nintendo of America). In short, the email asked that we close down friendcodes.com due to copyright infringement, because Nintendo owns the phrases: friendcode, friendcodes, friend code, and friend codes. Since Corey has been inactive, he obviously hasn't checked up on his emails and such until recently. Him and Robert talked about it, then Robert told the rest of us.

Basically Nintendo is "asking" us to remove the site files that are infringing the copyright (such as the logo, which contains the word "friendcodes"), and to drop the domain name for the same reason. Corey just responded to the emails tonight, and is going to talk to a NOA rep. (hopefully) Monday over the phone. But honestly, it looks bad. They've been sending the emails for almost a month now with no response, so they're very serious about it right now. We're still talking about what to do, but it looks like we will have to shut down the site temporarily, until it all gets worked out. Of course, if it works out Nintendo's way, we'll be closed down permanently. Naturally, we're going to try and keep that from happening, but like I said, it doesn't look good.

We're going to have to let the members know as well, just in case the site goes down during this whole event, they'll know what happened. Hopefully if Nintendo sees how many of their customers use this site, they'll let us off the hook. We're considering starting a "Keep FC.com Online" petition. This is probably the worst thing that's happened to FC. Including the crash.

I have nothing else to say, except that this makes me a bit sad and ••••ed. Yeah, this nullifies all the staff changes we've made recently, but this is news even to the admin team. I don't see why Nintendo has such as big issue about this. I don't see how it affects them unless they just want the domain for their own use. Anyway, we decided the staff needed to know what was going on ASAP. We'll tell the members soon, but the staff needed to know first.

    Stay tuned.

    B.

A port of the "net" game from Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection.

Rotate the blocks to complete the network without any "unpowered" blocks.

This is an SDL port of just the "net" game, customised for GP2X.

Other games will follow as I fix the remaining bugs.

    Vol+ - Quit
    Start - New Games
    Select - Restart Game
    A, Y, B - rotate left, lock, rotate right

After posting the PC World rumor earlier this month saying Portable Copy was going to be hitting the PS3 and PSP last week (and then finding out that, no it wasn't) I got a hold of Sony to find out what the time frame looked like.

I'm still pretty psyched about the ability to download my Blu-ray movies to the PSP for watching on the go.

Sony told me that according to Sony Pictures they expect to release the first Blu-ray disc movies with Portable Copy "later this year", but that they don't have a specific timeframe yet.

The technology, they told me, is currently under development, so Sony is also unclear on whether a PSP firmware update will be required to get it to work.
